Chapter 25
04:31, 14 February 2013Ross's POV
There's only one week left until the concert!
-------
2 days!
-------
The concert is today!!!
I couldn't wait for tonight to happen. We've all been practicing so hard for this tour to finally start and now it actually is! The best part was the fact that Emily was our opening act.
I called her this morning to ask if she wanted a ride since it wasn't that far away and she would just meet her tour van at the venue and she said sure.
This was going to be great.
"Are you almost ready Ross?" I heard Ryland call from downstairs.
"Coming!" I yelled back. "You guys can go ahead. I'm picking up Emily anyway." I said as I made my way towards them. I still had to get a few things ready.
"Ok, if you say so." He shrugged and they all walked out the door.
Since it was the first show of Emily's first ever tour, I got her a few things. Nothing major, but still enough for her to remember them. I bought her a bouquet of flowers, tulips to be exact (A/N: those actually are my favorite(: take notes Ross! ;) ), and a card saying congratulations for making it this far in her career.
I figured this stuff was important for this occasion.
I was all set and ready to go.
When I pulled into her driveway, I took a deep breath and brought my gifts up to her door. I rang the doorbell and waited for her to answer.
She walked out and looked absolutely gorgeous. She hadn't done her hair and makeup yet and I finally got to see the real her. She already had her outfit on and it really brought out her sea-blue eyes.
"Sorry, I probably look like an idiot without makeup on." She looked at the ground.
"No, you look beautiful." I smiled at her and when she looked up, a smile crept onto her face.
I gave her the gifts and she was totally shocked.
"Oh, Ross, you didn't have to get me anything." She smiled brightly.
"I know, but I knew you would love them." I replied.
I held her hand and we walked to my car. I could tell she was a bit more reserved than usual. She wasn't talking very much and she also wasn't in her usual excited, bubbly mood when I would pick her up.
"Are you ok?" I asked her as we both climbed into the car.
"What? Oh, yeah, I'm fine." She said, even though I could tell from her spacing out that she wasn't.
When I stopped at a red light, I put my hand on her knee and looked into her eyes.
"Emily, you're going to do great. You have absolutely nothing to worry about, I promise." I winked at her and she blushed slightly. Was this girl really mine? Sometimes, it seemed too good to be true.
"Thanks Ross." She smiled at me.
The light turned green and we started moving again, but I kept my hand on her knee. Something just felt right.
"There you guys are!" Ryland exclaimed. "Where have you been?" He pointed his finger at us as if he were our mom and then laughed.
"Sorry man, there was a long red light." I shrugged.
"Well, good thing you're here now. Emily, your crew is backstage working out some small things for your set up. They told me to tell you to meet them back there." He said to her.
"Oh, ok, thanks." She gave a small smile and made her way backstage.
"Is Emily ok?" Ryland asked me quietly after Emily was out of earshot.
"I think she's just nervous for tonight. It is her first ever concert, let alone tour. Don't worry, she'll get into the swing of things in no time." I reassured him.
"She better, otherwise she might lose some fans." Ryland looked a bit worried and went over to talk to the others.
Hearing him actually say that out loud, made me nervous. Its what I was thinking this entire time, but I kept putting it the back of my mind, thinking it would never happen.
What if it does?
Emily's POV
The truth is, I was terrified for tonight. I usually don't get nervous about performing, but there was something about tonight that made me freak out.
Maybe it was the fact that I was touring with my idols or even the fact that this night depended on my career. For whatever reason, I was scared.
"Hey Emily." Brad greeted me when I walked backstage.
"Hey guys, so what do we need to discuss?" I asked them.
"I just want to make sure you know where to stand when you go up and sing with Ross." He said.
Oh right, and I had to sing with Ross. No pressure there.
"Oh, ok." I nodded.
"So, you're going to walk out through here and stand right there." He pointed in the direction I had to go.
"Ok, thanks." I smiled.
"Got it?"
"Got it." I responded.
"Cool. Other than that, I can't think of anything else. Good luck!" He gave me a thumbs up and went back to the crew.
Hopefully his good luck would help.
I realized that I was still holding onto Ross's gifts and my hands had no intention of letting them go. Of course, I needed to.
I found a table in my dressing room and set them down, smiling at them.
"You ready?" Ross was leaning against the door frame of my dressing room.
"Yeah." I gave a half-hearted smile.
"Come here." He held out his arms and embraced me in a warm, tight hug. "You're going to be incredible. I just know it. You have so much talent, I'm surprised you're even nervous!" He joked and I gave a small laugh.
I looked up at him and he smiled at me.
"Thanks Ross." I said.
"No problem." He replied and leaned down to kiss my lips softly.
"Everyone meet on the stage!" We heard Alex exclaim from the other room.
"I guess we better make our way to the stage." Ross gave a small laugh and we headed over there.
When we walked onto the stage, everyone was in a circle.
"Ok guys," Alex started, "This is the first show of the tour. Let's make it rock!" He exclaimed and we all cheered. "On the count of three, let's yell 'make it rock!' One two three.."
"MAKE IT ROCK!" We all exclaimed in unison and cheered again.
It was time for the show to start.
Riker's POV
The fans were starting to pour in. Time for sound check!
We all waited backstage until we got to ok from Alex for us to walk out there. When we did, everyone screamed.
"How you guys doing tonight?!" I exclaimed and they all screamed again. "We're going to play you a few songs, if that's ok." I smiled.
"This first one's called Heart It On The Radio." Ross said and the audience cheered.
It felt so great to play this song again. I knew tonight was going to be incredible.
We played three songs. The first one being Heard It On The Radio, the second one being Want You Bad, and the third one being Crazy 4 U.
"So, I think we're ready for a little Q and A. What do you guys think?" Rocky asked us.
"I think we are." I shrugged and smiled at the audience. "What do you guys think?!" I pointed to the fans and they screamed loudly.
"I think that's a yes." Rocky gave a small laugh.
Ryland helped us set up all the chairs and went backstage to, I'm assuming, talk to Emily. Probably to calm her nerves down about tonight.
We answered some pretty cool questions, but then Ross got one that shocked us all.
"You." He pointed to a fan.
"Where's Emily?" She asked.
"Oh, she's backstage with Ryland." He replied.
"OMG can we see her?!" She exclaimed and everyone started to agree with her.
"Um, I suppose." He said, completely shocked by this.
We called Emily onto the stage and when we saw her expression, she was just as shocked as us. What really shocked us, was when she walked onto the stage, everyone cheered with delight. Rydel motioned for her to share her seat with her and Emily sat down.
"Hey guys." She smiled at the audience, talking into Rydel's mic.
"Hi!" They all replied.
"Do you guys have any questions for her?" Ross asked.
"Yeah, you." Emily pointed to a fan.
"What's it like dating Ross?" She asked and the audience broke out into oooo's.
"It's incredible. He's sweet, funny, easy to talk to, and, of course, extremely attractive." She joked and everyone laughed.
"Awww." Ross smiled and the fans laughed again.
"Ross!" Someone exclaimed.
"Yes?" He asked.
"What's it like dating Emily?" She asked.
"It's like my world is never dark." He smiled and everyone aww'd.
"Aw, that's sweet." I nudged his shoulder.
"Thanks Ross." Emily smiled at him.
"Hug, hug, hug!" The audience chanted.
Emily and Ross both looked at each other and got up to hug.
"Awww!" Everyone screamed.
Then, Ross kissed Emily's cheek softly and the fans went wild.
It was so great to see everyone getting along.
Emily had to leave the stage since it was now time for our meet and greet. Our dad gave the instructions since we also left the stage and made our way to the meet and greet station.
The meet and greet was fun. A lot of fans mentioned Rossily and how much they shipped it which really made Ross smile.
It actually went by pretty quick and soon enough, more fans started to pour in for the actual concert.
We were all backstage, ready to support Emily.
"You ready?" I asked her.
"Hopefully." She gave a small smile, her hands rested on her guitar.
"Don't worry, you'll do great." I smiled at her.
"Thanks." She replied.
Then, Ross made his way over to her.
"Don't worry Em, you can do this. Remember, I'll be backstage waiting for you." He gave her a tight hug and then kissed her forehead.
The lights went down and the audience screamed.
It was time for Emily to go on.
