Chapter 12

06:38, 26 January 2013

Rocky's POV

Dude, this meet and greet was going to be sweet! I could feel it.

Everyone helped Ryland set up and the place looked perfect. This was going to be great.

About half an hour after everything was ready to go, the fans started to line up outside the door. It seemed like a huge crowd and I think I'm the only one who knew why.

"Guys, its obvious." I whispered to Riker and Rydel off to the side.

"What's obvious?" Rydel asked me in our little huddle.

"Why there are more fans this time! Its Emily! She's drawing in the crowd." I smiled, proud of my analysis.

"Really? You think so?" Rydel said, a smile starting to creep across her face.

"I know so! I swear, its like she already has a ton of fans. Just imagine, we helped her become just a bit more famous!" I whispered loudly.

"Shh! We don't want her to hear." Rydel giggled a little.

"Why not?" Riker asked.

"Well, it should be a surprise. I'm not saying it will but we don't want it getting to her head or anything." Rydel said as if it was obvious.

"Right." I agreed with her, even though I definitely didn't think of that.

We made our way back to the others and opened the doors. Let's do this!

"Rocky! I love your shirt!" One girl exclaimed.

"Aw, thanks! I like yours too." I smiled at her and she blushed slightly.

"Oh. My. Gosh. Its Rossily!" One girl exclaimed as she came across Emily and Ross standing next to each other, giggling with her friend.

"Yes, yes it is." Ross smiled and put his arm around Emily.

"I support you guys one hundred percent. Like, seriously." The girl's friend said.

"Thank you. That really means a lot." Emily smiled.

Then, something happened that none of us expected.

Some girls walked in with tshirts saying "We love you Emily!" written on the front with polka dots all around it.

"Did you make these?!" Emily exclaimed, a huge smile across her face.

"Yeah we did! We are your biggest fans." One of the girls smiled.

"I really appreciate that." Emily replied and the girls smiled even brighter.

"Can you sign our shirts?" The other asked shyly.

"Sure!" Emily exclaimed and signed both of the girls' shirts.

"Way to go Em!" I exclaimed and gave her a high five.

After another half hour went by, Emily was looking nervous.

"Em, what's wrong?" I asked her.

"Well, Alex wanted me to go to this dinner thing with him to meet some important people and its already six and I need to meet him at seven." She said, looking very disappointed.

"The meet and greet is still another hour but if you need to go that's fine." I shrugged. We didn't want to make her feel like she had to stay.

"I'll stay for a few more fans." She gave a small smile and went back to greeting fans.

Although, I'm not sure that was the best idea. Keep in mind, Ross and Ryland are the only two who don't know about the hate Emily has been getting.

"Hey Ross. You look hot tonight." One girl came up to Ross and was totally flirting with him.

"Why thank you." Ross smiled, completely oblivious.

"Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?" She asked innocently.

"Well, she's a bit more then a friend." Ross smiled at Emily.

"Oh, wait, is this Emily?" She said, trying to hold in laughter.

"Yeah, why?" Ross asked, confused.

"I just thought she'd be a bit more...suitable for you." She said, glaring at Emily.

"Well I think she's perfect." Ross said protectively.

"Ok, whatever you say. So, Emily, did you get my tweets about Rossily?" She asked Emily with a snappy tone.

At first, Emily didn't know what she was talking about, but then, it hit her, and I knew why.

Earlier today, I realized Emily was still logged into twitter on our computer and I decided to see just how bad these comments were.

This girl took up most of her mentions and not a single one was positive. The thing was though, that she had an icon that looked exactly like she did right now, and it was definitely her.

She wrote some of the nastiest comments about Rossily and claimed Ross was for herself.

At this moment, I'm glad I snooped in her mentions.

"Um, yeah, I, I did." Emily said, never looking up.

"Oh, what's wrong? Can't handle the truth?" The girl smirked at her.

"No, I just, I have to go." Emily said and ran out of there as fast as she could.

Just as she turned though, I could see a single tear streaming down her cheek.

"Now, come on Ross, do you really want to date a baby?" She asked him, still smirking.

Ross's face was full of rage.

"You say one more bad thing about her and I swear I will make your life miserable." Ross glared at her.

"Ooh, feisty." She laughed slightly.

"How about you just get out of here." I glared at her as well. She was not getting away with treating Emily like that.

"Jeez, chill you guys." She rolled her eyes and made her way out the door.

Luckily, there was only two girls left and we explained to them that everything was fine and still made their R5 experience great.

After everyone left, I took Ross aside and talked to him.

"Hey Ross, you ok?" I asked him.

"Yeah, I'm not sure Emily is though. Do you know what that was all about?" He asked me. Crap.

"Um, well..." I trailed off.

"Rocky, what happened? What was that girl talking about?" He asked me.

"I can't be the one to tell you. That's something for Emily

to do." I looked him in the eye and told him straight out. It was the truth.

"Ok, if you say so." Ross sighed and walked back to the others.

To be honest, that girl even made me mad. Obviously, I didn't care about her the way Ross did but I cared about her more like a big brother so no one can mess with her.

Emily's POV

I was so humiliated. That girl made me feel like nothing over twitter and now I was meeting her?! In front of Ross?! Lovely, now I had to tell him. I did owe him at least that though.

I ran. I just ran. I had no idea how long it was going to take me to get back to my place but I just ran.

It wasn't the best idea to leave without a ride but I didn't want them asking me questions or giving me pity talks. I just wasn't in the mood for it.

After what seemed like forever, I arrived at my house. Finally, I thought to myself.

When I walked inside, it was 6:30. Which wasn't bad since I thought I would never make it.

I quickly threw on a pink blouse, my nice white jeans, and my strappy brown sandals. I did my hair and makeup and was out the door in fifteen minutes. Record time.

Before I walked into the restaurant, I made sure it didn't look like I was just crying, and luckily, it didn't.

"Emily! There you are. We were just talking about you." Alex greeted me with a huge smile.

"I hope it was only good." I joked and, what I'm assuming were the important people, laughed.

"Its so great to finally meet you Emily." The main guy said, holding out a hand for me to shake and I did. I assumed that the other two men behind him were just assistants or something.

"You too." I smiled, even though I had no idea who he was.

"Shall we?" Alex asked and lead the way to our table.

It wasn't until we were officially eating that they really started to talk about business.

"So, Emily, tell me. Have you ever considered acting?" The main guy asked.

"Well, it surely never actually came to mind but acting would be pretty cool." I smiled.

"I would be happy to make that happen." He smiled and before I could say something, he kept going. "We have an audition for a new tv show named 'The Song Within Me.' Its basically about a girl with dreams of becoming a singer and wants to share her talent with the world. The person playing the main character would need to know how to act and sing. We believe you would be perfect for the part." He looked at the two men next to him and they both nodded at the same time, which I found quite strange.

"Oh, well I would definitely be interested." I smiled, feeling Alex's stare on me.

"Excellent." He said. "Check please." He waved over the waitress and she took our plates away.

We said our goodbyes and as Alex lead me out the door, he took me aside.

"So, how did the meet and greet go?" He asked.

"Oh, yeah, it was, um, it was.." I trailed off.

"Was it Ross?" He asked.

What?! Why would he just assume that?!

"What? No, definitely not." I shook my head.

"You can tell me." He said.

"Look, Alex, you're not my dad, ok? I know you're my manager and the reason my dream is alive and I honestly appreciate that but I decide what's going on in my life, ok? I don't want to get personal or anything with you. I'm sorry but that's too weird for me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get home." I said as professional as I could and made my way to my car.

As I drove home, I was blaring the radio as loud as I could with the windows rolled up and the AC blasting.

Once I pulled up into my driveway, I sat there for a moment and then cried. Hard.
