1960-eight years later
06:53, 14 May 2015"Jimmy, when are you going to the show?" I asked after exiting the shower.
"Well whenever you get that pretty dress on I figured we could go. Toulouse still want your help with dinner tonight?"
"Of course he does, I think he just likes the company since this little thing doesn't let me do much anymore." I placed a hand on the small bump growing out of my belly region.
"Well we don't need to have family dinner tonight if you don't want."
"No it's fine, is Dess and Angus coming with the kids?"
"I think so." He watched me pull on my clothes before he said, "Lecia, remember when you got so big with Elaine and Evan?"
"Don't remind me Darling."
"I was just going to say when you get that big I'll help ya with your pants, and your shoes." He smiled as he wrapped his arms around my neck.
"And I will still be introducing you in the show, while making sure the two little angels do their homework."
I kissed him lightly before the two children ran into the room. "Ewwww Mommy stop kissing Daddy, it's gross." Evan whined
"Evan shut it, I think it is lovely." Elaine replied annoyed
"Why don't you shut it Elaine Ethel Darling."
He stuck his tongue out right before Jimmy said, "Hey no fighting or you can't go to the show tomorrow, ya hear."
"Yes sir." they said in unison and then walked out, likely retrieving their school bags.
"What happened to our little angels?" I asked jokingly
"Simple, they turned 8 and 6" Jimmy kissed my cheek before leaving the room shouting back, "Alicia Mae, did I tell you I love you today?"
"When you went to milk the cows and accidentally woke me up, when I was done feeding the ducks and chickens and before I woke the kids up."
"I love you Mrs.Darling."
"I love you Mr. Darling."
"Oh Alicia, a man is waiting for you on the stage, some big wig from Hollywood. Said it was important." Eve said as I killed the engine to the truck.
"I bet it is Elsa again, requesting our attendance to her show." Jimmy sarcastically whispered to me.
"I'll go see to it, anything happen last night?"
"No, Halloween ran smoothly and Edward Mordrake free, as usual."
"Thank you Eve for holding down the fort, how are the others?"
"Well Bette and Dot found two wonderful men, Toulouse mastered the art of making a pie that didn't involve meat and Paul and Penny aren't coming today because Max is at the doctor, but they will be at dinner tonight. Also Ima lost 2 pounds and Suzi is getting a new skate board."
"Ok, Jimmy can you go make sure she isn't crying in the corner and Eve can you go post the posters for tomorrow's show?"
"Yes Mrs. boss lady." The two answered as I started towards the stage.
"Hello." A man in a fancy suit stood looking at the new sign Jimmy made me for the show. He turned to me revealing his handsome face which was hidden partially behind his sunglasses.
"Are you Alicia Darling, owner of the Darling Cabinet of Curiosities?"
"In the flesh, I can only assume Elsa sent you, in hopes that I will attend her November 1st show. I'm sorry the answer is..."
"Elsa is dead, she died during her Halloween performance last night, she list you in her will, stating that you get all the money she had saved up. Also it says that you are the contact since the rest of her kin are dead."
"Elsa's... dead?" Tears forming in my eyes.
"I am so sorry for your loss, if you and your husband like we can make the plans here or go to..."
"I'd like to make them here, I want her buried on these ground. How soon can you get her here?"
"Tomorrow or the next day. Any..."
"A standard casket would be nice, I'd like her dressed in a sky blue suit with blue eye shadow to the brow bone and bright red lips, her hair done and a small toy rocket in the casket with her."
"I'll go write that down." He hurried out of the tent as I stood there shocked.
She knew not to perform on Halloween, so why would she attempt suicide like that. When he came back I said, "Also I would like Massimo Dolcefino called and informed of her death."
"Mister Dolcefino passed away Mrs. Darling." He said as he scribbled the burial requirements down.
I continued to answer his questions for the next hour, when he finally left and was replaced by Jimmy, who sat on the stage across from the front row seat I sat in."What did Elsa the Hollywood star want now?"
"Elsa's died." I whispered
"What?"
"Elsa performed last night and died on stage."
He got up and sat next to me as I leaned into him, the tears rolling down my face. "I'll tell the troop." I said five minutes later, wiping the tears away.
"Ok." He stood up and went to get them as I took front center stage.
"Hello, first I want to thank you for being my family for the past eight years, I know after Elsa left it was a bit hard but we got through it. This is why I say with a heavy heart that Miss Elsa Mars is no longer with us. She past away while performing last night, so I would like it if we pay tribute to her at tomorrow's show by performing her rocket song. Also her body will be arriving here for the funeral either tomorrow or the next day. Thank you, you all can go back to work now if you'd like. Also dinner is at 7 tonight at our house."
I walked off the stage and through the back, I sat got in the truck and drove to my familiar place before I owned the show.
