Flashbacks are fun
20:58, 12 May 2015"You sure you wanna do this?" Maria whispered as she pulled up to the grounds.
"Listen Mars, just because Jimmy is a drunkened ass doesn't mean I can bail on the rest of 'em. I told ya I am just here to make them dinner, like I always do on Sundays. I'll have Dess or Paul drive me back and then I'll start packing." I reassured her as she stop outside the devil's head.
"Ok, be careful." She whispered back as I got out of the car.
It had been a week and a half since I had Elsa drive me home that night, Dess had stopped by the house three days ago and said that they missed my cooking, which is when I agreed to do this. I walked quickly to Dess's trailer to find her sitting out front, waiting for me no doubt. She stood up and walked the last three feet to me, embracing me in a hug before whispering, "I missed ya Darling."
"Missed ya too Dess. Now what do you guys want."
"Well I think Paul picked up all the right stuff for ya to make us burgers, and fries." She motioned towards the dining tent, where I could see Paul standing by the paper bags on the counter with Penny. When he saw me he raised an arm and waved, Penny doing the same. "How ya been sweetie, when I called a while back..."
"I'm fine Dess, just was busy and tired." I smiled as I lied.
"That's not what Eve said." Dess whispered.
The bell jingled as the door to the empty restaurant, I turned to see Eve taking a seat at the counter.
"Well if it isn't the gorgeous Amazon Eve, what can I get ya today?" I asked, I was honestly so happy she walked in, I had missed our talks.
"Well I'll take a chocolate shake if ya got one, and maybe a piece of apple pie, and then ya can tell me where you have been the past three days."
After making her shake and getting her pie I told her everything that happened, and then about the slow days I had been having, at home and work.
"That explains alot." She whispered at the end, "Why would Jimmy say that?"
"Well I'm not sure, I'm figuring he is upset still about everything that has happened the last few months, and losing his hands was the cherry on top of his sundae of unfortunate events."
"Well I know for a fact he loves ya, he hasn't been the same since ya left, keeps asking for you. Said he really messed up and he just wants ya to know how much he loves you."
"So how have you been Eve?" changing the subject.
"Good, I mean other than the fact that Maggie is dead."
"What happened?"
"Sawed in half. We got Stanley too, turned him into Meep, for everything he did."
"Well thats good..."
"Elsa's gone too."
"Where did she go?"
"Hollywood, but she wanted me to give you this." She handed me an envelope with my name scribbled on it.
I opened it to reveal the deed to the show, it stated that Elsa Mars was turning all rights of ownership over to Alicia Mae Thomas along with a note from Elsa.
Lissa,
You are the only one I trust with my monsters, I know you can do this. Take care and don't forget to watch me on the screen.
Love,
Elsa Mars
"It's mine... The show is mine." I whispered, Eve's eyes growing wide when I said it.
"What?"
"She left me the show, I can't believe it."
"I have to tell..."
"No, let me think this out." I cut her off
"Ok. I'll leave ya to think then." Eve said, pulling her coin purse out to pay.
"Eve, it's on the house." I smiled at her
"Thanks Lissa." She reached over the counter to hug me, before leaving the diner, leaving me looking at the deed.
"How much she tell you." I whispered back
"Told me you were the new owner, and that the diner was slow."
"Well I think I'm going to have Eve and some of the others move my stuff over as soon as they can. I'm keeping the show." I beamed as she embraced me again
"Ok Boss lady, lets go make some burgers." She linked her arm in mine and lead me towards the tent.
