Don't lose your light Jimmy

08:48, 9 May 2015

~Alicia's POV again~

I woke up with Maggie by my side, and Desiree over the body of the woman just revealed Jimmy's hands to the world. I sprung up in a panic, "Jimmy..."

"Don't worry, he's ok, i'm sure of it. We need to get back though." Maggie said rushing me to the car to wait for Dess.

As I sat in the back I couldn't help but cry a bit, what if he wasn't ok though.

I had Dess stop at the jail before we went back to the big tent, after a day's drive I need to verify for myself that Jimmy was safe. I pushed the doors opened and said to the lady at the front desk, "I'm here to see James Darling."

"Oh I'll take you back there." she coldly said, she wore a nurse like outfit, and escorted me quickly to the door, as she opened it I heard Jimmy yell, "Can you please just get me something for the pain?"

"No, I already told you Freak, my friend was at that party."

"Call him a freak again and I swear I will..." I hissed before stormed into the room slamming the door in her face.

There he laid, in a bed, handcuffed and missing his beautiful hands. He opened his brown eyes and looked at me with such sadness. I walked over and sat on the edge of the bed, gently kissing his forehead, fighting back tears. I hated seeing him in pain, but he smiled as he joked, "Alicia Mae, I think I deserve more than just a peck on the head."

"Well Darling that is all you get." I replied, "How are you?"

"Handless, how about you?"

"Recovering from a long drive. I know about Stanley."

"He told you he took my hands?"

"No I saw them." His eyes grew large as I retold the scene at the Morbid Curiosities museum and everything Maggie, and Stanley did.

"So I was dating a freak killer, of course." He said frustrated

"At least she told us using words, Stanley just used actions to demonstrate his role."

"What am I going to do."

"Well I'm going to get you out of here, and when I do I guess I will take care of you, until we are old and sitting on the front porch of our farm, then I will make one of the grandkids do it." I smiled as I watched him chuckle

"You know something Lecia, your impossible dreams make me happy, even when I don't want to be."

"Just repaying the favor love." I kissed him before I whispered to him, "and I will make it possible."

"We need to get him out." I pleaded to Dell

"What do you want me to do?" He snapped

"You're his FATHER. We need to just make a plan."

"How did you..."

"Perk of being Best Friends with both him and Ethel, so we can always pay bail?"

"Not enough money sweetheart."

"Well what if break him out?" Eve asked as she entered the trailer, "I want to help Jimmy, strong man, strong woman kind of routine almost."

"Yea. Where will we keep him?" Dell asked looking at me

"He can't stay here or at my house, they will look there first. How about the old barn up past the lake?"

"Good, we'll get him up there, you wait for him, help him settle in?" Eve replied looking at me in the end.

"Just bring our Jimmy home." I whispered as they went to plan the hijacking.

"He's being moved today." I informed Eve after going back to visit several days later.

"Ok, you gonna walk up to the barn now?"

"Yea, figured I make him a bed and such." I left with a smile on my face as I started to walk toward the barn a few miles away.

After making him a space, and waiting a few hours I started to think they didn't succeed, until I heard the car pull up, I pulled open the barn doors as Dell opened the back door for him. I raced out to him as soon as I saw him. His wrists were still handcuffed together, but he kissed the top of my head as I hugged him tighter. I then quickly rushed him inside and we all broke the cuffs off him. When we did he quickly thanked us and told us to all leave, before the detective showed up. I kissed him before I left and hurried back with Dell and Eve, which was good because 10 minutes after we got back the police were searching for him at the camp, and questioning all of us.

I was the last to go, "Alicia, if you know what happened to him or where he went..."

"I told you already Colquitt, I didn't even know he escaped until you showed up here and started tearing our home apart."

"Well if he reaches out."

"I doubt he will, remember we broke up." I snapped.

When I went to visit him earlier I told him we had to stage a break up, he detested but then agreed. We play fought about how I only loved him for his hands and without them he was useless, said I was done and left him to do all the fake crying. I also brought up the murder charges and how I couldn't love a killer.

"Oh yea, sorry I forgot about that. I'll be going I guess."

With that all the cars left and I raced back to the barn, throwing the doors open to find Jimmy sleeping in the bed. He wasn't covered and was shivering so I went a tucked him in, then just sat and watched him move a bit before mumbling in his sleep, "I love you."

"I love you too." I mumbled back knowing he couldn't hear me in his sleep.

He mumbled back, "Should have gotten a bigger bed."

"So you are awake?"

"Yea, feels weird not having hands, so sometimes I don't sleep because I think of the things I can't do now."

"There is still a lot you can do though Darling." I went to brush his face but he pulled away. His brown eyes now opened and slowly filling with anger.

"Alicia, I HAVE NO HANDS! What can I ever do?" He screamed at me.

"You can do lots."

"I can't piss eat, read, touch your face, hold your hand, juggle, lift stuff, and a million other things." He snapped

"Yes but you can instruct us, you can still lead us, we can own the whole show Darling, and it won't matter if you have hands or not."

"What about you and me? what can we do if I have no hands."

"Do what you did with hands, whisper sweet nothings into my ear, fall asleep with me, love me unconditionally, and just be the you that make me and your ma proud."

"You sound so much like her sometimes." He whispered

"You wanna know what your mom told me once, when we first met?"

"What?" He looked at me with the sad eyes I loved. I brushed a hand across his cheek to wipe away the escaped tear and whispered, "Never lose you light, meaning never stop being you."

He leaned forward to kiss me lightly then shut his eyes and listened as I told him some old stories my mom told me as a kid, listening to him softly snore as I myself drifted off to sleep.
