Chapter 25: Aubrey's Dilemma
21:35, 12 June 2017
A/N: Hey weirdos! So, this is a kinda short chapter (I think) and it's more a filler chapter to be honest, but I hope you enjoy it all the same. So, I think this fanfic is gonna start coming to an end soon but hopefully I'll be uploading another Bechloe fic again! Also, I did a quick Bechloe One Shot the other day if you wanna check it out, it's called Rain and Fire.
-Bella House, Aubrey's Room-
Aubrey entered the Bella House to witness all the girls huddled together, in the living room, watching 'Miss Congeniality', probably a choice made by Chloe. So, whilst they were distracted the blonde snuck upstairs and collapsed onto her bed, taking off her jacket and bag.
Yes, maybe the meet-up hadn't gone exactly how she planned but this was a good thing, right? I mean she couldn't see Jesse. He was a Treblemaker and she took an oath. So, why did Aubrey want to be reckless? Why did she want to throw away the rule book, run back over to the ice cream store and kiss Jesse for all he was worth?
Aubrey let out a scream, trying to vent her dilemma, when Chloe walked into her bedroom. "What have I told you about knocking?" Aubrey's frustration passing onto her best friend.
"Never since moving in here have I ever needed to knock to gain access to my own room Bree. Now, what happened? You're back early and you didn't come into the living room to finish the rest of Miss Congeniality with us. I know you secretly love it." The ginger winked at her best friend before placing herself down alongside her.
"It's nothing Chlo, honestly, things just didn't go according to plan. That's all. Come on, let's go watch the film. I hope they haven't eaten all the popcorn." Aubrey got up off her bed when a millisecond later she was pulled back down and landed with a soft bounce in the exact same spot. The blonde should of known this answer wouldn't suffice.
"Aubrey Marie Posen, don't you lie to me. I'm your best friend. Now, what happened? I also know it wasn't some random guy you were meeting. I do listen and I do take note. Yes, you may be popular with some people around campus but I know that you don't have any other male friends with who you meet at 7:00 o clock at night. I mean come on, you live and breathe the Bella's. Now, do I have to wrestle you to the ground for you to tell me or am I stealing your phone? Your choice." Chloe's eyes stormed over with an evil glint and reached out to Aubrey's bag when she yelled.
"Wait! Okay, damn you Beale. Being with Beca really has made you more feisty-"
"Thank you." Chloe cut her off with a charming smile before letting the blonde continue.
"Do you know how much I'm risking telling you this? Do you know how big this is? You've got to promise me you won't freak and go all Beca 'Effin Mitchell on my ass. Okay?"
"Okay Bree. So, who was it?" Chloe's eyes swam with curiosity as Aubrey let out a deep sigh.
"Jesse." Aubrey turned away from Chloe expecting her to freak out and when she didn't she turned back to look at her best friend. Chloe had zoned out, her eyes huge and wide with her mouth dropped open. "Chloe?"
"J-Jes-Jesse! As in Jesse Swanson. From the Treblemaker. That Jesse?" Chloe was tripping over her word whilst trying to comprehend what Aubrey had told her.
"Yeah. I mean how many other Jesse's do we both know?"
"Bree, what the hell? Why did you meet him? I thought after last tim- After all that stress you gave me of not telling another soul- I mean, what the hell? Are you guys an item?" Again, Chloe could only respond with more questions.
"I know and I'm sorry. At the time, I thought meeting him was a good idea. I know we didn't exactly meet as normal people do, ya know with us both getting drunk and hooking up, but I don't know. I don't know what happened okay! When I see him, my mind goes blank and my heart starts racing and, and an-"
"-and you feel like you can't go near them as you're afraid they'll heart how loudly your heart is thumping and no matter what you do you can't get them out of your head. You want to be near them all the time. Even if everyone else around you might not agree with you, you don't care because all you care about is them." Chloe finished off Aubrey's sentence. She could see the emotion in Aubrey's blue eyes as she spoke about Jesse. It was the same tone she used when she spoke about Beca. She couldn't stay mad at her best friend for accidentally falling in love. I mean what sort of best friend would she be then?
Aubrey stopped speaking, her mouth now hanging open. "Y-yeah. How did you know that?" Aubrey was shocked that Chloe understood how she felt, to the 't'.
"Because I'm the exact same way with Beca. You know how hard it was for me when I first saw her at the Activity's Fair. I mean I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't think. My mind was on her constantly. I just wanted to be with her, to let her know how I felt. I needed her to. It was like an obsession that I couldn't control. She took over my life and then when we got together it was the happiest I'd ever felt. I mean I was with this woman who I had ached over for god knows how long and now I could speak to her, I could feel her warm embrace and it meant the world to me. I don't thank you enough for putting the wheels in motion for us to become Bechloe." Chloe saw Aubrey's brow knit over in confusion at the name. "Oh, I heard Lily say the name about us a couple of weeks back. I mean I could have been wrong, this is Lily, for all I know she couldn't have been talking about a roller skating cow."
Aubrey laughed slightly, but happy tears were starting to roll down her cheeks. She loved seeing Chloe happy and even though she didn't take to Beca straight away the A Capella captain was glad that her best friend had found true love.
"So, I think this means I should return the favour, right?" Chloe cut through Aubrey's thoughts, her eyes opening in shock.
"Chloe, no. I mean we can't. You can't. As you said before Jesse is a Treblemaker and I am a Bella. We can't be together. Plus, after giving those girls all those lectures on how not to be Trebleboned... I can't do that to them."
Chloe reached out for Aubrey's hands and held them in hers before looking up at her best friend. "Aubrey, you helped me find the one person I've ever truly loved. That means I owe you and if that means kicking all those girls butts until they accept how completely in love you are with Jesse then so be it. Okay?"
Tears were forming in Aubrey's eyes, clouding her vision. Whatever had she done to deserve such a brilliant best friend? "Now!" Chloe clapped her hands together, jumping up off the bed. "We're gonna have to tell the girls how you feel before you go and tell Jesse. Okay?"
Aubrey just nodded numbly. She couldn't believe this was happening. She knew it was wrong and yet it felt so right. "Let's do it." She croaked out.

-Bella Living Room-
The credits were rolling for the end of the film. "As much as I love seeing Sandra Bullock play a badass cop go stunning beauty queen I think it's time we watched a real film. I think I saw a horror movie on another channel. Let's watch that!" Fat Amy reached for the remote when all the girls started to protest. "Now, there is something you've gotta know." Amy started, killing the screams of protest. "If you do object then I will have to sit on you, I ain't afraid. I'll do it."
Just as the girls started to protest again Aubrey and Chloe walked into the living room.
"Hey girls, Aubrey has something she needs to tell us. Bree?" Chloe invited her to speak, sitting down on the arm rest to the sofa. The girls all stop yelling and focused their attention on their A Capella Captain.
