β€œDon't Forget Me.”

- Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd | Lana Del Rey.

β˜…β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β˜…

Mia was just like a normal girl living her life. She didn't think she was special or talented to people so they can pay attention to her or care about her.

But she didn't mean all the people.

It's like.. boys. It's like to feel loved from them and make her feel that she is beautiful and worth it.

But well, things never worked in that way. They only saw her as a normal girl and preferred her friends on her.

Like each time she knows a boy and trys to play it cool taking it as her chance and they see any of her friends their head stays on her friend and not on Mia herself.

She feels like she would never be loved nor someone would see her as herself not focus on her friends tell her they are sorry and they should stay only as friends.

Only so they can have a chance with her friends.

All these things made her feel like she is less beautiful than them or to feel ugly, to doubt her personality and everything about herself.

But here she was, trying to make it a new start. In a different place, in a different country.

She always wanted to live in Spain. The vibes of the country itself was really beautiful to ignore. And especially Barcelona.

When she got to the place she always dreamed of living in plus the city, she felt so comfortable and relaxed. She felt this is where she really belongs.

She also started to work in a cafe. And she has to say it's a really special cafe. It was an airport cafe where she works.

She watches the planes leaving, admiring beautiful returns to home and also painful goodbyes.

Each one tells a different story.

However there's that one special thing about this airport.

She sees the football team barcelona traveling to away games. She keeps admiring them, the players and everything. Even if sometimes they don't notice her but she thinks it's special seeing them each time they have an away game.

When they have an away game and come to the airport, you will find everyone here like literally everyone. Crowds of fans and people, cameras and media and also bodyguards to protect the players.

It's a special day.Β

But for her it's not around this reason only.

There was that one cute boy who she always sees and keeps her eyes on him and on his every move.

The barcelona new goalkeeper.

Joan Garcia.

She always saw him before he signed to Barcelona in the airport when Espanyol had an away game.

She always thought he was cute and interesting to know. But she just admired the view from afar.

Scared to take a step closer and find he's like everyone else, plus most of the time he is with his team or bodyguards and crowds surrounding him. It's not like he would even care about a girl working in a small cafe in the airport.

Today, Barcelona had a game. She only guessed this because since she woke up she heard people talking about it.

She doesn't know if it's an away game or not.

She went to her work and settled all her stuff and started to make some coffee for two people that ordered.

After she finished making them, her curiosity got the best of her. Mia wanted to know, what game is Barcelona going to play today?

Is it a home game or an away one??

She opened her phone searching for the game and before she knew the answer some tapped on the small bell that was set on the table in front of her. Meaning they wanted her attention so they could order.

She didn't know what game they have due to the person who tapped on the bell, her attention snapped out at the sound. She closed her phone and looked up.

"How can i help.. oh my god." her expression turned from calm to one mixed with excitement and disbelief.

It was him standing there in front of her. Joan Garcia.

The one she always watched in the airport was the one watching her now standing in front of her with a confident composed look and a soft smile on his lips.

"Are you real?" she let out her words without even thinking.

"Yes, yes i'm real." he chuckled at what she said and she just kept looking at him, this time from closer not from afar like how she always saw a glimpse of him in the airport.

"What? Are you gonna keep me waiting? Not even gonna ask for my order?" and again he let out a soft laugh at her.

"Oh sorry.. just not used to this. Don't mind, i look like a stupid now." she put a hand on her face laughing a little then looked at him. "So what would you like to drink?"

"Just coffee." he smiled politely at her.

"Okay, you can sit there and i will tell you when it's finished." she turned towards the coffee machines preparing everything.

"It's okay, i will sit here. If you don't mind." he sat on one of the chairs that was placed right across the front table.

She suddenly froze in her place feeling the heat coming from her cheeks, she tried to tell herself to focus, he's a famous player and she just.. working in a cafe. It's not like he's interested or sitting there for her.

"It's okay, i would go sit there to not cause you any discomfort." he took his phone back from the table ready to head to the tables aside.

"No, it's okay you can stay here. I didn't mean this sorry. Just not used to people sitting here and especially known ones like you." she tried to shake off the awkwardness by smiling a little bit.

"Ahh, i got it. But it's okay, im not gonna eat you or something." he laughed again with her, she started preparing his coffee.

"You have a match right?" she looked at him as she sat on a chair in front of him waiting till the coffee is ready.Β

"Yeah, it might not look like this because im just alone here now but yes we have an away match today." he closed his phone putting it aside and turning his focus on her.

"Yeah, i guessed that. I always see you all when you have away matches." she smiled as she placed a bottle of water in front of him.

"Aww. I didn't know I had a beautiful admirer." he teased her slightly taking the bottle from her and took a few sips from it.

"I said i see you all, not you. Plus i just keep watching because i see a lot of cameras and stuff. It's weird that you are sitting here now without bodyguards or cameras drooling over you to take a picture." she tried to shift the subject not show the small pink shadow on her cheeks.

"Well yeah.. i just came early before the others. They are probably still getting ready or something." he shrugged with his shoulders still his cute soft smile on his face.

"Why didn't you come with them? I mean you said you are alone here." she furrowed her eyebrows in question.

"Uh.. I just like to come early to focus and also to have my pretty coffee. They come on the plane time."

"But it's the first time you have a coffee from here?" she was confused again now, he cursed under his breath as she noticed something like that.

"How did you know? Are you watching me or something?" he laughed with her.

"No, it's just i remember the people who come here. Especially if they're special or famous ones like you." she shrugged her shoulders while still smiling.

"So you're saying im special?" his smile widened at what she said, a glimmer of hope in his heart.

"I mean of course you are." she saw the smile on his face also there was a hint of something in his eyes, it was similar to the one in her eyes too, to the one she felt in her heart.

"Well.. thank you. This is definitely gonna help me in the match today." and those words made her heart flutter in her chest, her smile soft on her lips she didn't even know how to respond to this.

She went towards the coffee machine as she saw the coffee was done and she started putting it on a cup and putting all the things needed on it.

"I never asked for your name though." he placed his both arms on the counter in front of him.

"Mia." she simply said after she finished writing something in his cup, it's something she does to everyone who orders something from here. But what she wrote for him was special.

"It's a really pretty name, just like you. It definitely suits you." he watched her with a faint smile on his lips.

"Are we flirting now?" she placed the cup in front of him.

"Me? Flirting? No not at all." he joked with her. "But if it's a beautiful girl like you then i might give it a try."

"Okay stop already and just drink the coffee." she felt her cheeks growing more hot, he just laughed at her and took the cup. He just enjoyed that sight of her and her pink cheeks.

Even if he doesn't know her or if this is the first time they both talk to each other like that, both of them have to admit that they are enjoying every second of it.

"The coffee tastes so good. It's amazing really! Im lucky that i decided to try it." he looked at her in awe, he was in love with the coffee she made for him.

"Thank you so much. I don't know what to say." she smiled at him looking away.

After a few minutes passed in complete silence he finally spoke up. "You know, i have always noticed you too here when i was travelling with the team."

"Really?" her head snapped back towards him, her heart was going to burst from happiness.

"Yeah.. i don't know why i didn't talk to you before. I always thought you were special, Mia." he looked into her brown eyes taking his time in looking at them before he had to go.

"And actually, i came early today hoping i would find you here so that maybe.. i can know you. And here we are." he smiled again at her hoping he isn't gonna regret what he just said.

"Are you being serious right now?" her smile got wider, a flicker of sparks in her eyes.

"Yes-" and before he could continue what he was about to say, his phone started to ring. It was one of the team staff telling him that they are waiting for him in the airport for the flight.

And he just told him that he is in the airport and is coming to them right now. As soon as he hung up he looked at her for one last time. "I have to go to catch the flight."

"Oh.. good luck Joan. You will do great today." she smiled at him feeling slightly disappointed that it was suddenly his flight time and that he had to go.

"Thanks Mia. I will definitely see you again. Goodbye Mia." he waved at her and took the cup of coffee holding it in hand and his bags in the other one.

"Yeah, goodbye Joan." she waved back at him feeling something different in her heart. She kept her eyes on him until he disappeared from the door.

It was a rush goodbye and both of them knew that, but it was because all the team was waiting for him and he had to hurry to them.

And both of them just realized now that they have no way to contact each other. Like she didn't give him her number or even him either.

He was planning on doing that but he quickly forgot after they called him. Which made him regret leaving her in a hurry and rushing behind. Like what could have happened if he stayed just two minutes there.

She kept looking at the seat where he was sitting before. Remembering their conversation and how they were hitting it off with each other.

But what made her relax a little bit is that maybe he can find her again here, in the same cafe right where he left her.

But still she couldn't forget it that easily or forget the sight of him sitting there just looking at her.

She always admired him from afar, like.. more than just watching a famous player.

It was the same as what he said. But she didn't get the chance to say it as he left. And she wonders if she would ever say it or not.

If only they didn't call him to catch his flight, if he only said it a bit earlier.

She hoped that he wouldn't forget her.

But what she knows is that she hated AIRPORT GOODBYES.
