The True Enemy
19:37, 27 February 2018(Heeeeyyyy, we're back with the original perspective... enjoy! :3)
*After Derrick was taken away, Aphmau and the rest of the family were forced to return back to their homes, their fates undecided.
*The next morning
Aaron and Aphmau are sitting on the couch when they hear the doorbell ring.
"I'll get it," Aphmau offers.
Aphmau walks downstairs and opens the door, surprised to see security guards standing behind it.
"Um, hello?" She says. They simply continue to stare at her blankly.
"We are security guards from the central office in Starlight, we have a message for Aphmau and Aaron" The guard on the left explains.
"I'm Aphmau, I'll get the message to Aaron. What is it?" Aph began to tremble, she was worried about what they were about to tell her.
"Derrick Wolfwere, or should I say, Derrick Lycan, was executed a little over an hour ago. You and the rest of the Lycan family must stay on the island until the owner decides if he is going to let you leave unharmed. Thank you, and good day." The guards quickly closed the door and left, leaving Aphmau, collapsed on the floor.
Aph stayed this way for a while, not knowing if she should go get Aaron or let him relax in peace for a moment more. To her relief, she didn't have to make the decision. Aaron had come downstairs on his own.
"Aphmau!" Aaron called to her when he saw her on the floor. He knelt down beside her to look at her face, to find her cheeks streaked with tears.
"What in the world happened!?" Aaron lifted her chin and forced her to look him in the eyes.
"T-Those were security guards from the main island, they said we couldn't leave the island until the owner figured out what to do with us," Aphmau told him honestly, leaving out the most important detail.
"They didn't say anything else?" Aaron put his arms around Aphmau, almost to tell her that she could trust him, that he could take it.
"Your father... is dead," She choked out.
Aaron said nothing to this. Obviously, Derrick had caused him much trouble in his life. But Aaron knew he meant to have good intentions. He was trying to protect Aaron and the people around him, but instead, hurt him. Derrick did learn from his mistakes though, slowly but surely. And heck, that was his father! He loved him! But Aaron knew grieving wasn't something he could afford to do openly, at least not now. They had other issues they needed to work out. The owner of Starlight, these guards, sure they posed a threat. Of course, they were a problem. But were they the true enemy?
"Are you okay?" Aphmau whispered to Aaron after a couple minutes of thinking.
"Yes, sorry. I was just thinking," Aaron stated.
"Rachel and Melissa are going to find out any minute," Aphmau told Aaron worriedly.
"I'm sure they already know," he replied.
"Aphmau," Aaron looked at her.
"Yeah?" She replies curiously.
"You believed me when I said I saw Ein, right?" Aaron inquired.
"Of course," she replied instantaneously.
"If he really is here, alive and well, we have bigger problems to worry about than just getting out of Starlight," Aaron said.
"I know, we need to focus on the true enemy." Aphmau agreed.
