Chapter 18 - Busy Days

Blaze's POVI woke up and fell out of bed as I heard my alarm go off like every morning. As I slowly woke up fully I wondered....'how the heck did I get into bed?...'

I got up and walked out of my room to find my sleepy roomate. Bed hair on his head and an apron over his clothes. He was cooking bacon in the kitchen since it was the only thing left in the fridge.

"Morning Blue." I said with a yawn, trying to fix the mess I had on my head.

He sighed as he finished cooking and took off his apron, he walked over to me and placed his hands on the chair beside him.

"The cafe will be under new management today. So I've got to go to work for the whole day....tell my groupmates that I'll catch up with the work I'll miss today later tonight on my own." He said, his ears down while tired.

His eyebags were really visible today and he looks like he only got a little rest from staying up so late last night. He took a step back and hid his ears and tail. Then he...hugged me..

He seemed really shaky and really tired from last night and told me to pick him up later like I usually do. I felt bad for him..He stayed up really late last night and only got two hours of sleep, and now he's gonna have to work at the cafe the whole day...

I promised him that I'd pick him up as he let go of me, walking towards his room for him to change.

"I can drive you to work today." I offered as he was about to close the door.

"I-If you want to t-then go get dressed." He said with a yawn.

I ate the bacon he cooked and then changed into a simple shirt and jeans. I grabbed my car keys, a few of my things for classes today, and waited for Ein outside the dorm.

He later came out and walked with me to my car, we got in and I drove him to the cafe.

'What if he collapses at work today? Or what if a customer treats him badly...I dont want him to burn himself out, and he still has so much schoolwork to do for his classes..' Alot of thoughts were running through my mind as I drove to the cafe.

All that was on my mind was him...

Not the projects I have due this week, not the groupmates I still have to deal with later, not the people I'll have lunch with, and not the assignments I haven't finished yet..All I could think about was him....

'What's wrong with me..' I sighed and thought as my mind continued to run.

We eventually got to the cafe and only then I noticed that Ein was asleep this whole time. Sadly, I had to wake this sleepyhead of a roommate up but...I didn't want him to go.

After he woke up he said goodbye and got out of the car, to a new full day with work. I was worried about this dork.....so worried that I was tempted to stop him from going to work.

I sighed and shrugged it off, driving back to the campus and continuing the day.

I went through a few classes and when it got to lunch....I felt a little lonely honestly. Normally Ein would only have to work after classes until dinner, we would have lunch together in the cafeteria or in one of the small restaurants found near campus, we would usually spend late afternoons together while just chilling in the dorm but today....he wasn't around me for most of the day.....

'Why do I think about him this much...I just miss him..But for some reason I miss him..more than a friend would..." I thought to myself.

I shook off the thoughts that were in my head about him and continued on with my day. Time passed and it was my last class of the day which meant that soon I would get to see Ein again.

Ein's POVIt was a busy day at the cafe for me. I had to help my co-workers bake a cake for the new manager of the cafe and manage orders outside of the kitchen. The old manager retired a few weeks ago and she's finally found a great replacement.

Hours passed and the cafe was loaded with people. Alot of my co-workers were busy in the back baking the cake, baking pastries to be sold, washing dishes, and cleaning up the kitchen. While a few others and I were out taking orders, serving people, and cleaning up tables.

The cafe was really busy but it died down a bit later in the afternoon. I was exhausted, not just because I only had two hours of sleep the past night but because I had to work for more hours than I normally did.

My co-workers told me that we'd be having a dinner party in celebration of the cafe being under new management. We were told that we were allowed to bring a plus-one and from that I already knew who I was gonna bring...

Blaze's POVIt was 6:30pm and I was about to go buy dinner when Ein texted me.__________Blue: Hey Blaze. You wanna eat dinner here in the cafe tonight? Just thought I'd invite you since the manager told us we could bring a plus-one to the dinner party we're having.

Blaze: Free food?

Blue: Yep.

Blaze: I'm coming there right now!__________I dropped off my school stuff at the dorm and decided I'd pack a change of clothes for Ein since his uniform was probably dirty by now. I packed a hoodie, some jeans, and a black shirt into a bag, got into my car and headed off.

I got there and went in to be greeted by people prepping upstairs. Some were dragging chairs upstairs, and others were busy in the kitchen.

I saw Ein in the kitchen helping out with what they were making and decided to just sit down and wait for everything to stop being so hectic. ____________________Lonely(the author):Wow this was a long chapter...Anyways I hope you enjoyed this chapter. It was really long compared to all the other chapters in this book but I still hope you like it. I'll try to make the next chapter a bit shorter so its easier to deal with.
