The North Remembers
21:16, 29 January 2017*Railey's POV*
It was about noon, and the sun was shining at it's brightest. Although it was still quite cold. I kept feeling nauseous and dizzy and it became worse with every step. But quitting now was not an option, not considering how far I'd already come. I know I was lost in the beginning for a little while, but I had found the Last river. And I knew if I would follow it I would eventually come across the Kingsroad, which would lead me to Castle Black.
*Ramsay's POV*
I was following her tracks for about two weeks now. It just didn't make any sense. Her tracks were not leading anywhere near Castle Black in the beginning. She was taking a long detour on purpose for some reason I didn't know, or she was lost. But now, weeks later, she had found her way to Castle Black. She was following the Last river that would eventually lead to the Kingsroad.
*Railey's POV*
*A few days later*
I had been following the Last river for a few days now and I finally got to the point where the Last river and the Kingsroad crossed paths. I knew it was not far from there till Castle Black and the wall. And I was right about two days later I could see the immense wall of ice towering above the tree tops. It was almost getting dark so I had to hurry up. I urged my horse and galloped towards the gates of Castle Black. To my surprise there was no one standing at the gate, I opened them and tied my horse. Carefully I stepped inside and walked a little further inside, until I heard some voices coming from a corner. I hid behind a wall and peaked around it. I saw a whole bunch of people surrounding someone or something. I couldn't see what they were doing but I could hear what they were saying.
"For the watch." It was quiet for a few seconds, before a same sound was heard. It was like they were stabbing someone. "For the watch." Another voice said. "For the watch." "For the watch." It just kept going. "For the watch." After this it stopped and it was silent, until I heard a familiar voice. "Olly." My breathing hitched and my heart skipped a few beats. Jon? "For the watch." A little voice said, and the same sound followed. Everyone left after that, I waited till I knew for sure nobody was around. I stepped out from place behind the wall and walked closer, a person was laying on the ground. It couldn't be. My heart was pounding in my chest and my breathing was out of control. I was panicking and ran to the person that was laying on the ground. No, no, no, no, no. I felt my eyes getting watery when I kneeled down beside the person. "J-Jon?" I whimpered.
"Railey?" He whispered.
"Yes it's me Jon, I'm here." I was almost crying right now. He had multiple stabbing wounds and he was loosing a lot of blood.
"Before dad died, he, he told me one last thing to tell you." Jon whispered. He was having trouble breathing. "We have the... the."
"Jon? Please don't leave me." I cried.
"We have the same mother. You're my real.. sister." He whispered.
"You can't die." I cried.
"Be safe." Where his last words. This can't be happening right now. This is not real.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" A male voice from behind me yelled.
I jumped to my feet and turned around to see that a big man with grey hair was standing in front of me.
"N-Nothing..." I mumbled.
"You're coming with me." He smirked.
"Let me go!" I screamed when he picked me up. I tried to kick him to get loose, but it probably felt like an ant was kicking him because he was so big and strong.
"We're going to have some fun tonight." He laughed.
"LET HER GO!" A familiar voice screamed from behind me. I looked up to see Ramsay standing there holding his sword, ready to attack.
"And what are you going to do about it?" The man asked with a sarcastic tone.
Ramsay smirked and lunged at the man. He let go of my and quickly unsheathed his sword, just in time to stop Ramsay's blow with his sword from cutting him in two. The two men fought for a while before Ramsay took the overhand. The man lost his balance and his sword fell to the ground. Ramsay laughed and put his sword right through the man's chest. Ramsay didn't pull it out until the life left the man's eyes. He collapsed to the ground and blood seeped out of the wound. I stood there motionless all the time. Everything that had happened this last few days, it just didn't seem real.
Ramsay ran toward me. "Are you okay?" He asked cupping my face with his hands.
I nodded. My eyes were still widened in fear and my heart was still beating like crazy.
"We have to leave right now, before people will notice our presence." Ramsay told me. He grabbed me by my wrist and pulled me towards our horses. I looked back over my shoulder one last time to Jon. This was the last time I would ever see him again.
