North

03:29, 24 December 2020

It's the weekend after Luke marked me, and North and I are on a beach, aptly named North shore, at midnight.

Marie had thrown a party that had gotten out of hand, and the guys had to get involved. My presence wasn't appreciated so North and I escaped to a beach that he had wanted to take me to for a while.

It was a shame when we arrived that it was dark because although I could hear the waves breaking against the shore, I couldn't see where the beach ended and where the sea started. The moon was big in the sky, but every so often it would be hidden by a cloud passing over it.The air whips my hair around my face, and I keep trying to brush it away only for it to keep returning to its previous position. I run onto the sand and whip around as well, taking everything in, even in the dark. I see the shadows of rocks on what I assume to be the edges of the beach.

North calls after me. "Be careful, Sang Baby!"

I roll my eyes at his overly-protective nature, but I like that he cares enough. I pull North's jacket around me tighter, a chill going through me.

"Baby, you're cold, maybe we should go."

"No, I'm fine." North catches my arm and pulls me around to face him. He lifts his hands up to my cheeks, and I move closer, reveling in the warmth coming off him, but I don't want to admit that to him.

"Your cheeks are freezing." I look up at North's face, and I notice due to how close we are that his cheeks and nose are red with the sea breeze. With North's jacket, I've got more layers than he does, so if I'm cold he must be freezing.

"Aren't you cold?" I ask him, and he lets a small smile come to his lips. I brush a strand of hair that entered my mouth away from my face. He lifts his hands from my cheeks and brushes my hair back from my face so he can look into my eyes.

"We're talking about you."

"But you must be cold."

"Sang baby, don't worry about me."

"But I do."

"You shouldn't."

I could argue with him all day about whether I should worry for him, but I decided against it and to fight it further another day.

"Can we just stay a bit longer?" I ask. North sighs, but nods, wrapping his arms around me.

We stand like that for a moment, and I stare up into his dark eyes, smiling.

"I love you, Sang Baby," he says, tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear. It takes me off guard, but my grin gets wider even so. I didn't think North would be the first to say it, and I was just about to say it to him when he surprised me. I thought due to his dark facade, and not showing much emotion other than grumpiness, he wouldn't open up like that. But I'm glad he did. It makes it even more special to know he was vulnerable with me when he's stony with everyone else.

"I love you, North." North leans his head down, his cold nose pressing against my own. He breathes out and his warm breath defrosts my face. North tilts my head back, and it leaves my lips only millimeters from his. He hesitates, and I stay still, waiting for him to move. My eyes are trained on his, but he doesn't move the small space to capture my lips. We stay like that for a longer time than I thought we would, and I wonder whether North does in fact want to kiss me as I had first thought, and when I venture out to test the waters in his mind, I find the same doubts that I was experiencing. He was waiting for me.

I take the initiative and lean forward, pressing my lips to his cold ones. He's as frozen as the air around us under me, but soon the heat of his bottled up passion seeps into the kiss. North presses his lips harshly to mine, and it takes the breath right out of my lungs.

I clutch onto him just as hard as he is clutching onto me. He moves his lips over mine, and I breathe heavily into his open mouth. His teeth brush against my lip and a light moan comes out at the sensation it sends through me. He bites it gently, and although it's not a mark he's leaving it still sends a thrill through me.

I gasp, and before I can do it back to him to see if he feels the same thing, he pulls back.

He rests his forehead against mine, before pulling back further.

"Come on, it's probably time to go. The guys will be wondering where we are."

"I just want to see the sea," I tell him. He looks me over for a minute before he sighs, and lets go of my face. He turns me around and points out into the darkness.

"It's there." I giggle, batting away his arm.

"I know, but I want to go in." I break away from his grasp and run forward. "Come on North, please," I plead. He groans.

"Sang Baby," he pleads in return. I continue running through the dark and get to where the waves are rolling at the shore.

I look over my shoulder at North who has started to follow me. He calls my name again, but I kick my sandals off before he can complain and step into the water.

"Sang!" North calls again, but I walk further into the water. My feet are freezing, but standing in the water, with the moon shining down on me feels calming. Like I haven't a care in the world, and Marie isn't currently causing trouble at home.

I look over my shoulder at North, and miss a particularly big wave coming my way. It takes me by surprise, and I fall into the water, being tumbled and turned like laundry. I try to find the way up, but I'm having been twisted around, I'm confused.

Hands meet me, and I feel the familiar sparks that come from my mate's touch. North pulls me from the waves, walking back to the beach.

"Sang Baby, are you alright?" he asks, examining my face for any signs of injuries. I nod frantically, shivering as the cold air hits my wet skin. "Come on," he says. He jogs up the beach and we arrive back at his bike. North places me on my feet, rubbing my arms to try and get some warmth into my skin. It starts to work, the sparks warming me up from the inside as well as the friction.

He pushes the helmet down onto my head, helping me onto the bike. "I don't have any towels. I'm sorry, Sang Baby. This was a mistake. Don't worry, we'll get somewhere warm soon." He clambers onto the bike as well, the engine starting up loudly. I snuggle into his back, and soon we're zooming down the road, the wind hitting the exposed skin and wet clothes harshly.

Not before long, North stops the bike abruptly and gets off, turning to me. I look around and notice we're not in Sunnyvale. We weren't nearly on the road long enough, but I thought maybe it had been longer than I thought.

We're actually in a hotel parking lot, and as North bundles me into the reception I ask why we're here. He tells me in response that he didn't want to bring me back to the guys like that, even though I didn't think they would be mad, and that he didn't want me to be this wet for too long. He explained we would stay here for the night, to allow me to warm up before getting back on the bike and facing the wind. It was getting late anyway, and I was getting tired, so I was thankful to be in the warm lobby.

North quickly paid for the room, and I followed him through all of the hallways, looking around in interest. I had never stayed in a hotel.

"Take a shower, Sang Baby," he tells me, and I can't quite decipher if he's mad at me for making us stay here. I try to enter his mind, but it's blocked off to me. I try to persuade myself that he would never actually hate me, especially because he just admitted to loving me, but the thought still nags at the back of my mind.

I take my clothes off, laying them on the side, before twisting the dials to get warm water shooting out from the showerhead. The warmth tingles as it flows throughout my whole body, thawing the ice.

I only take a quick shower, knowing North will be as cold if not colder than me. I pull back the curtain, picking up a towel, before reaching for the counter and where my clothes should be. My hand meets the hard counter, missing clothes. I spin around in the bathroom, wondering if I somehow misplaced the clothes. I hadn't.

I clutch the towel tighter to me, going to the door. I gingerly knock on it, wanting to alert North of me entering, in case he is getting changed and so I don't have to leave the bathroom in just a towel. He'd probably seen me in worse states, but it felt too intimate.

I hear North moving around in the room before he knocks back.

"Sang Baby?"

"Do you have my clothes?" I ask quietly, nervous to suggest I'm naked in here.

"Yeah, they were wet..." he trails off at the end, nervous to suggest the next thing. "They're over the radiator. Your underwear is probably dry by now if you want to sleep in them tonight."

"Yeah, sure," I respond, thinking it will be better than nothing, and it would be better to not sleep in wet clothes.

North moves away from the door, and he returns a couple of seconds later, knocking on the door again. I open the door a margin to accept the underwear through the gap. I let him know I'll be out in a minute, before quickly drying off and putting the underwear back on. They're warm from the underwear and it gives the rest of the heat I needed. I try and dry my hair as much as I can, knowing Gabriel wouldn't be happy with it.

I open the door a crack, peeking out to see where North is. He has his back to me and I take the opportunity to escape the bathroom without him seeing. Maybe if I were to get to the bed soon enough, I could hide under the covers before North could see anything.

He's seen me in a swimsuit before, so I shouldn't be so nervous, but just the different word makes it feel different.

I wrap my arms around my midriff, my arm resting against Silas' mark, jogging toward the bed, but before I get all the way, North has turned. He takes a couple of steps forward, reaching for my arm, pulling it away from my body. I let the other fall with it without any suggestion on his behalf. His eyes go over my body, his fingers reaching out to Silas' mark before going to my wrist and Nathan's mark, before traveling up to my neck. He doesn't touch any of them, instead just admiring them. His eyes meet mine, and he almost has a proud expression on his face. He doesn't linger for long, moving past me and to the bathroom.

I slide under the crisp sheets, pulling them up to my chin. I hear the shower start and turn onto my side, hoping to fall asleep before North comes out to avoid an awkward interaction.

When North comes out I'm not asleep. He lifts the sheets up and lies down beside me. He reaches a hand out to my back, letting me know he's there.

He's my mate, it shouldn't be as awkward as it is. I turn over and keep the covers up under my armpit as I look at him. He brushes my hair away from my face.

"I told the guys we were here."

"Good. Were they angry?" I ask.

"Hm," is his answer, not letting me know anything either way. North's hand drifts down my body, resting on my waist. I snuggle close to him, and his hand falls behind my back, resting between my shoulders.

We share a stare for a moment, before he tilts his head down, pressing his lips to mine. It's chaste and continues to come back in for another, every time, it gets more and more ferocious.

My hands meet his bare chest in front of me, wanting to clutch onto something. He gasps, as I did with Silas touching the spot on my stomach, and I look up to his face after a particularly heated kiss. His dark eyes meet mine, and he waits for my next move.

"North, I want you to mark me," I tell him, hoping that my earnest look conveys how deeply I want it. North stares at me.

"Baby..."

"North, please. I want you to all have a mark on me, and although Mr. Blackbourne or Dr. Green can't... I want to have as many as I can."

North sighs, resting his head in the crook of my neck. He opens his mouth, and I wait with bated breath for him to mark me, but when he closes his mouth on the piece of skin, I don't feel the deep connection or the immense pleasure that would come with a mark. I still feel pleasure, but it's nowhere near the same. I come to the realization, that he didn't mark me.

"It should be somewhere better, than this shitty hotel," he tells me, moving back so he can look at me again. I grunt in frustration.

"I don't care where it is."

"Sang," he starts but I want him to feel the same way he made me feel. He cuts off when he sees me go to his neck. It's obvious he wants me to mark him because his breath stops. I open my mouth, acting like I'm going to, only to close my mouth with my normal teeth. He grunts, clutching onto me harder, pressing my body into his further.

"Fuck, Baby." He lifts my face up with a finger on my chin, kissing my lips. It's full of teeth, but not the ones I want. I pull back, going for another place on his neck, wanting him to feel the same frustration. I bite down, and he grunts louder.

"See how frustrating it is..." I pout. He growls at me, his head going down to my neck, resting over Kota's mark. I gasp, not sure how I'd feel if he marked me in the same place, but when his mouth closes on my neck, his teeth are still human. The feeling that jolts through me is insane. I press my fingers into North's back, a moan flying out of my lips. Did Kota feel that? I slam a guard down over my mind, not wanting to distract him from what he's doing.

When North pulls back the eyes of West greet me. His brow is furrowed, and I assume that North is trying to fight West. I go for his neck again, lower this time, where it meets his chest, biting down. Melody feels right on the verge of taking over, and I too have to fight to keep control. I don't want to mark him yet. I only want to make him feel how he's making me feel.

"Sang Baby, stop," he warns, his voice deep and gravelly.

"Why?" I ask. Did it hurt him? He shoves my shoulder so I'm lying on my back, and he clambers on top of me, his hands holding down my own.

"Because I don't want to hurt you," he says, his golden eyes staring deeply into my own. The utter emotion staring back at me pulls at my heart. He cares about me!

"You won't," I argue. He clenches his mouth shout, and by the way, his skin is protruding around his mouth, his canines have descended.

"I'm close to shifting, we have to stop."

"No!" I cry. "You and West would never hurt me."

"Sang..."

"Please, I love you North." I kiss where I can reach on his neck, down to his chest. I brush my teeth against every spot I stop at, and soon North is growling above me.

"I love you, Sang," he says.

"I'm not going to force you to mark me North, but I... I want you to."

"I don't want to hurt you," he says dejectedly, repeating himself.

"I won't let you. It won't hurt."

"I'm not gentle," he warns, before he loosens his grip on my hands, trailing them down my arms. His head falls to my chest, kissing a spot above my breast and under my collarbone. Right above my heart.

"North," I gasp, lacing my fingers with his. I know he can be gentle with me. He would never allow himself to hurt me. I'm not scared. I project every thought into his mind, hoping for him to understand that I care just as much about him as he does about me.

He groans, letting more of his weight fall down onto me, his mouth opening. I feel the sharp point of his canines before they pierce my skin.

His musk falls over me like a blanket, soothing and warming me up. It's heady, and my heart beats faster under North's bite. The place makes it even more special, to know that I can say that they have my heart and to actually, literally, mean it. It doesn't matter that North's mark is there because all of their marks are each other's as well. All 7 of them can say that they have marked my heart, and eventually, it'll be 9.

I focus on North in front of me, and open my mouth in return, searching out a spot I can reach. I twist my head to reach his neck and bite down on the first spot I get to. North presses down into me harder, grunting against my chest.

It's bittersweet. To know that this will probably be one of the last marks I get by them for a while, but to also have a deeper connection with one of them.Hey guys! I hope you liked it! Sorry for the delay, once again! If you read my announcement, I fell asleep writing the end of this part when I had meant to get it up and woke up pretty confused to find the nearly finished part in front of me. I was then busy yesterday, but here it is! The next part should be pretty easy for me to write. It'll probably be the part that I had initially meant for the book to end with, which was written a while ago, with a marking at the end. As I have said, I already have it written, and it will just need editing since it was so long ago I wrote it, and for me to add the rest of the part. It might be up on Christmas Day, depending. What did you think? How will the next person mark Sang? (I'm pretty sure we all know who it'll be ;))Thank you for reading, voting, commenting, sharing, and following!
