[5] Genin

"So, Kagami, this is Azuma and Kurenai. They are the Sensei's of the other Genin groups. In a week we will have a mini test for the Genin and you will be part of it as a supervisor." Her gaze at the Hokage turns into a hard glare.

Her gaze shifts to the two standing a few feet away from her, looking at her with curiosity and shock. The woman has bright red eyes with long wavy black hair.

The man also has black hair that continues down his jawline and into a beard. A cigarette sits gently between his teeth.

"Hokage-Sama, if I remember correctly I agreed to be on a Genin team. I did not agree to have to meet and supervise three." Kagami says tightening her hands into fists.

"So you did. But I've decided you need to make friends in other teams, as it seems you dislike your own." The Hokage smirks smugly.

"Hokage-Sama I refuse your off-"

"Ah but it is not an offer," the Hokage cuts off Kagami's refusal. "It's an order."

Kagami mentally sighs at him.

'Rude'

'Shut up Yua. I didn't ask for your opinion.'

'Have you ever?'

'Yes'

'And?'

'I didn't ask for it this time.'

'And?'

'Go away.'

'And?'

Kagami cuts off her communication between her and Yua, not wanting to deal with her today.

"As you wish Hokage-Sama." She says and gets ready to leave.

"Oh Kagami, you will need to stay awhile as you will be leaving with these two to meet your new friends." Kagami could practically hear the smirk on his face.

Never in Kagami's 13 years of living did she think she would be in a situation like this, but she always told herself that's the only right way to live.

To live without knowing what is to come.

"Now Azuma I believe you need you have a B mission in two weeks or so. But your team needs to show improvement. Kurenai your team should be prepared for a C mission sometime next week. Where as all your D missions will be pushed into Kakashi's team." The Hokage shuffles around papers, as if he is looking for something important.

'Ah, so that's how it is? It's already decided. Team 7 could end up with perfect teamwork but would still need to carry out D ranked mission.' Kagami frowns slightly at the new information.

'It's actually quite smart,' Yua broke the barrier between them and reaches out to Kagami. 'It means that they will have to continue for a week or so, which means they can watch to make sure it wasn't a one-off success, but they've actually improved'

'True, but it is still unfortunate.' Kagami tunes back into the room as she notices Azuma walk towards the door.

She is immediately behind him and ready to leave.

"Have a nice day Kagami."

'I'm starting to dislike this old bag.'

"Team this is Kagami, she will be watching over our and the other Genin teams. She will also supervise our final test before missions." Azuma inhales deeply through his cigarette.

"Hey! Aren't you the girl we passed yesterday?" Ino walks right up to Kagami, who stands her ground.

"Please refrain from breathing on me. Your breath stinks."

"Ah! Rude!" Ino crosses her arms and walks away, her head held high.

"Hey! You didn't need to be so rude about it." Kagami turns to a boy on her left, a dog perched atop his head.

"It's not going to be nice when you are confronted by an enemy nin." Kagami turns her attention to Kurenai who immediately introduces the Genin.

"This is my team, Kiba Inuzuka, Hinata Hyuga and Shino Arubrame. Azuma's team includes Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara and Choji Akimichi." Kurenai nervously shifts, as if she was waiting for Kagami to make a remark.

"Kagami Hatake." Kagami answers stonily.

"What?!" Kiba and Ino yell pointing at her dramatically.

Shikamaru and Choji exchange glances. Shino's eyebrows rise. But Hinata has a different approach to the information.

"N-nice to m-meet you K-Kagami-Sensei." Hinata slightly bows to the said person.

"Likewise Hinata." Azuma chokes slightly.

'First time she's actually called someone by their real name.' He composes himself and continues on.

"She is actually a Genin like you. So there is no need to call her Sensei." Heads turn.

"So I could've hit her before!" Ino yells.

She walks forwards and raises her hand.

"Ino I wouldn't do tha—" But Ino swings her hand down, ignoring her Sensei's warning.

Just as her hand is about to hit Kagami a hand grips her wrist tightly and harmlessly shoves her away into her teammates.

"I can't allow you to do that." Kakashi straightens up from his crouched position and stands in front of his sister protectively.

"Ah, so she gets special treatment." Kiba says quietly to himself.

"I could've taken care of myself." Kagami says

"You would've broken her." Kakashi replies.

"Exactly."

Ino shivers and hides behind the group of Genin.

"Please try not to kill the Genin while you are in charge." Kakashi asks his sister.

"If one of them tries to touch me I can't make any promises." She replies.

She spins around and faces her team.

"You are late."

"Well we decided to have a detour." Sakura replies.

"Wrong decisions get your team killed."

"Well this was the right decision."

"And how's that?"

"We took a detour to decide if we should ditch your little gathering." Sasuke steps forward and speaks for Sakura.

"And that's why the Uchiha clan doesn't exists today."

"What did you say?"

"You Uchiha's believe you are so much better then anyone else where as in reality you can be destroyed in a night."

Kakashi looks over at Kagami this time, catching onto her.

'Kagami.' Yua warns the child.

'He needs to learn.' She replies.

"You know nothing!" Sasuke stalks towards her.

"Kagami, stop. Sasuke calm down."

Sasuke doesn't listen and launches himself at Kagami. She twist to the left and slams her foot into his back, slamming him into the ground.

"Kagami!" Sakura yells at the girl.

"Lesson 1. Excessive emotions will jeopardise your mission. It is fine to have emotion on a mission, but not the amounts you give off." This shocks everyone.

Kagami was acting different to usual, which was intriguing to the Nara.

"So maybe, Kagami, you should try and show some emotion then." All heads turn to Shikamaru.

He seems to have figured something out, or is trying to.

"But that's not allowed in Root is it?" Shikamaru believes he has stumped Kagami but he is wrong.

"In Root if you show emotion you are immediately killed. That is why you are a Genin and not a member of the Root Anbu." With that Kagami lets go of Sasuke and appears next to Kakashi.

"I believe that is enough for today. Next lesson is tomorrow and then you have your 'final testing'. 8 o'clock sharp." Kakashi body flickers away, his hand holding Kagami's shoulder.
