"My head hurts"

Erity laid sprawled on her couch, her tie hang loosely around her neck as a few buttons from her shirt where open revealing her bandaged chest under it. her jacket had been carelessly thrown over the tv and her shoes where still in the middle of the apartments entrance as she had kicked them off before falling onto the couch yesterday night or maybe early morning was a better way to put it.

last night when she left the warehouse and made her way home she passed a night shop and her eyes had catched a sight of something inside, giving her an idea for another suicide attempt.

alcohol poisoning.

she had tried it before and failed but it wouldn't hurt to try again, right?

well, she definitely tried by the sight of all the liquor bottles that surrounded her but as usual she had failed, leaving her with only an aching headache.

"Damn..." she groaned as she held the bridge of her nose between her thumb and pointer finger, eyes closed tight as she felt her head thumbing to the rhythm of her, sadly. beating heart.

she tried to open her eyes but closed them back immediately with a wince as they where blinded by the sunlight that seeped through her curtains and into her apartment.

after a couple minutes she could finally keep them open, albeit squinted.

"Man, failed again" she said as she was looking at the ceiling, waiting for her vision to unblur "oh well, their's nothing to do about it but to try again"

her hand laid on her forehead as she continued to look at the ceiling, eyes opening bit by bit as they got used to the light and her vision became more steady.

her mind was quiet as she listened to the painful thumping that resonated through her before turning her head carefully to look around the room.

she let out an exasperated sigh as she saw all the liquor bottles scattered around the floor.

i don't wanna have to clean that up, i'm to tired. maybe i'll just go back to sleep...yeah, i can deal with it later

as she was about to turn around to lay in a more comfortable position. she heard what to her sounded like bombs exploding right next to her but instead, was just her phone ringing.

groaning she turned back around and stretched out her arm to the coffee table next to her, her hand moved around as it searched for her phone to stop the horrendously loud noise it was making that made her headache all the worse.

as her hand finally made contact with it she retracted her hand and clicked the answer button without even looking who it was.

"What..." she groaned out not caring if she sounded rude, just wanting to get this over with so that she can go back to sleeping her life away.

"Ah! Erity-kun, help me! i'm dying-"

"Good for you" erity told him and hung up on him before he could say anything else. not even caring about how he had gotten her number seeing as she had already suspected that she would hear from the armed detective agency again, one way or another.

letting her arm drop down and dangle next to the sofa as she still held the phone. her fingers skimming the wooden floor.

she let out a satisfied yawn as the sound of bombs going of had finally ended and the thumbing was becoming a little better. now all that was left to do was to fall asleep, shouldn't be too hard.

.

.

.

he's dying...but how is he doing it?

erity groaned. now that he had brought up dying, she started thinking about it again, how she could do it and got her curious to how he was doing it right now, afterall. it could be a method she hadn't tried yet.

with one last sigh, she brought her arm back up and put her phone back down on the coffee table before opening her eyes and letting them adjust to the light again, it didn't take as long as before though and in one swift move she had sat herself up, which she probably should have done slower as she groaned and held her thumping head.

i need some aspirin

now slowly. she stood up and made her way to the kitchen, careful not to stumble over any of the scattered liquor bottles.

once their she opened one of the cabinets and took out a glass and filled it with tap water, normally she had at least one box of aspirin laying around the kitchen but it seemed today their was not, exhaustively she made her way to the bathroom where she slide the mirror cabinet open.

looking through all the different medication that laid inside it. she found the aspirin and took it out, closing the cabinet she got a glimpse of herself in the mirror.

her pastel pink hair was an absolute mess and her eyes where as empty as ever. she noticed their was still some sleep crust and decided it might be good to wash her face.

she savoured the coolness of the water on her pale skin, honestly. she was as white as a ghost.

once done she closed the tap and ran her hand through her hair. patting it down a bit before looking back in the mirror, there wasn't really any improvement but at least the sleep crust was gone and she was now a bit more awake.

noticing the opened buttons from her shirt, she decided it might be a good idea to change into a fresh set of clothes as she could smell a mixer of alcohol and river water coming off of them.

she opened another cabinet from inside the bathroom where she kept some spare clothes, just incase. and because she didn't feel like going to her room, she still had to clean it up after one of. what she liked to call her 'little hibernation's'

taking out a white dress shirt, a pair of beige/greyish pants and a red tie, she changed and dumped the filthy clothes in the laundry basket.

with that she made her way back to the kitchen with an aspirin which she downed with the glass of water and placed it in the sink once empty.

now then, let's see where you are dying exactly

picking up her phone from the coffee table, it only took her a few minutes before she had figured out where his location was.

pocketing her phone, she walked passed the tv where she picket up her jacket and put it on before slipping on her shoes at the apartment entrance, she took her keys and pocketed them too before grabbing the knob, opening the door and stepping out, leaving the mess she called her apartment once again.

-

erity had made her way to the location her phone showed her where dazai was and found herself standing in front of the entrance of a dormitory.

looking around her eyes stopped on an oil drum that stood in front of the dormitory building and inside of it was no other than dazai himself.

she just stared as he sunk down the drum slowly. that was until dazai turned his head and his eyes made contact with her empty once.

"Erity-kun! you did come to save me!" he shouted to him with a bright smile.

erity made her way towards him and stood in front of the oil drum.

"Not really, i just came to see how you where dying so that i could try it myself" she explained to him with her monotonous voice as she continued to watch him sink further.

"Hmm, well i wouldn't recommend it. it's quiet painful, which is why i called you" dazai told him before giving him a small smile that seemed slightly pleading "Please help me out"

this will kill him eventually and that is what he wants, so why would he want out? maybe because it hurts, not everybody likes a painful death

erity stared at him, contemplating if she should help.

i know i would enjoy a painless death but then again, i wish for death to stop the already never ending pain i feel

"Fine" erity sighed making dazai let out a relieved sigh of his own as the pain he felt became worse by the second.

taking out her hands from her jacket pockets. she stepped closer to the oil drum and tried to pull him out but seeing as he was way taller than her, that wasn't working.

so she tried to push the oil drum instead but that didn't work either, seeing as it was to heavy for her.

"I can't get you out" she stated, taking a step back and looked back at dazai who seemed to be deep in thought as he stared at her, it didn't phase her thought.

looking up like he had just gotten an idea as a light bulb went of above his head. she watched as he squirmed around a bit and took out his phone, he placed it to his ear after he dialed a number and waited for whoever he was calling to pick up.

wait...isn't this a method of torture rather than for suicide?

"Good morning!" she heard dazai chant into the phone, snapping her out of it "Today's another fine day"

could be better, my morning was practically shit and my head is still thumping

"How's the new dorm?" she heard him ask the person on the phone making her wonder, although she already had an idea on who it could be.

"That's good to hear, the change of clothes at your pillow is a gift from everyone at the agency. By the way, atsushi-kun"

knew it

"I apologize for asking this out of the blue..." she listened as dazai trialed of before becoming completely serious "But there's been an emergency"

maybe i can leave now, atsushi is in one of these dorms taken from what dazai just said, meaning he'll probably be here in couple minutes and can help dazai with his 'emergency"

"Yes, there can be no delay. Please come to the specified location immediately, it's a crisis! only you can help"

but then again, he looked pretty thin. he had been starving after all, and even with those bowls of tea on rice yesterday. he might still be to weak and not be able to push this oil drum on his own either

with a sigh, erity decided to just stay and wait for atsushi to see where the situation would come to.

-

"Are you ready, atsushi-kun?" dazai asked him, still acting serious as erity had become more tired than she already was from standing and had taken a seat on the ground, leaning against the oil drum.

"first, when you leave the room, make sure you close the door" erity looked up as she saw atsushi do what dazai had told him.

"Look behind you!"

"behind me?"

atsushi's and erity's eyes connected for a second as he had turned around and looked from her to dazai who had gradually sunken further into the oil drum.

atsushi gasped as he realized what he was actually seeing before running down the stairs and standing in front of the oil drum with a sweatdropped expression.

"Um...What's this about?" he asked as he glanced between dazai and erity.

"What do you think?" dazai asked him.

"Maybe i'm hallucinating this morning?" atsushi answered.

"Wrong!" dazai exclaimed happily, erity just watched them have their conversation.

"Is it an enemy attack?" atsushi questioned, getting worried "Did you get caught in a trap?"

"I got in myself" dazai asked making atsushi go back do his sweatdropped expression.

"Well, you see. i heard that there's a way to commit suicide by getting stuck in an oil drum, so i decided to give it a shot" dazai started to explain "But now that i have, i'm just suffering without being able to actually die" he continued as he sunk further down the oil drum "Not to mention, now that i've wedged myself this deep. i can't get out on my own, i think i might die"

"I see..." atsushi trailed, still sweatdropped. he then turned to erity with a slightly questioning look which she guessed was because he wanted to know what she was doing here too.

"I came to see how he was dying" she answered with her monotonous voice which he was starting to get used to and let out a yawn not seeing him give her the same sweatdropped expression he had given dazai a second ago from her answer.

"But it's a way to commit suicide. so you should be able to kill yourself if you stay that way, i think?" atsushi said, turning back to dazai.

"I like suicide, but i don't like suffering or pain! why would i!?" dazai explained in a stern way.

i feel you

"Why didn't you ask erity-kun to get you out?" atsushi wondered as he turned back to erity who had got up from leaning against the oil drum.

"I tried. He was to tall for me to pull out and the oil drum with the extra weight inside it where to heavy for me to push on my own" she explained to him, not caring or probably even noticing that she had basically just called dazai heavy.

"Erity-kun! so mean" dazai whined, faking tears.

"I see" atsushi deadpanned and placed his hand on the barrel.

"Also, i only learned this after the fact but it wasn't a suicide method" dazai started to explain "It was a torture method!"

"There" atsushi said, overlapping with dazai's last sentence a he pushed the oil drum making it tumble over.

so it wasn't a suicide method afterall
