Chapter 21 part I

21:06, 18 December 2014

Kaname's POV

"Juri-sama! Please! Please stop it!"

She looked at her, fury shown in her eyes.

"You ungrateful child. Unbelievable. Must be punished. Must be Punished!"

She whipped her with the long, black leather rope continuously. Beating her even though her skin was already raw.

She kept on begging her to stop. Screaming for help. I can't help but let the tears escape from my watery eyes.

I saw him. He just stood there. Allowing his wife hurt this innocent young girl who doesn't even know what she had done wrong to deserve this beating. He frowned. Probably at the language his beloved wife spoke. I looked at him with a scowl. Can't he stop her from killing this child?

Wait.

Aren't I the same?

Standing there unable to help.

For the first time in my life, I feel disgusted of myself. .

."Kaname-sama."

"Yes. I'm aware."

The lingering scent of Level Es surrounded the school grounds.

"Are the day class students in refuge?"

"Yes."

The presence of him comes closer each second I stand here. I'm not going to make the same mistake I did years ago.

I'm coming for you, Sara.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sara's POV

Darkness. That's what I can only see. Somehow, staying in this black hole makes me calmer. Even if those memories begin to seep into my mind.

I crashed into the wall, meters away from the hand which slapped me. Juri-sama looked at me as if I've killed her precious daughter.

"You ungrateful child. Unbelievable. Must be punished. Must be punished!"

She whipped me with that long viper of hers with her fury building up each whip she gives me. It hurt. It hurt a lot. Leaving visible red marks and bruises against the raw flesh where it had hit contact with. I begged her to stop, but it seemed to be a wrong move since she seemed even more mad. Blood gushed out of the wounds and soon painted the floor with its dark crimson color.

I saw Kaname. I stared into his eyes, pleading him to save me. He just stood there. Eyes widen as if a murder has just taken place. Her hand slapped my cheek so hard that I flew once again across the room and crashed into one of the pillars that supported the music gallery. My voice screamed with agony. I looked at him, internally shouting "Help me. Please.". He gave me a pain-struck gaze before forcing himself out of the room. She continued to scream at me. I don't know what she said. My ears refused to comprehend the words as my vision blurred. I blacked out.

Tears uncontrollably came one after the other. That was the first time I was beaten so badly. It was also the first time I knew I am alone. That I am the only person I can rely on. Then I did something so suddenly an without a reason that I never thought I was capable of. I laughed. Not the genuine laugh I used to do, but a sadistic, illogical laugh. Confused was an understatement. I was shocked. It was as if I was possessed. By an evil spirit who took advantage of my weak state I am in now. Perhaps I wasn't in a deep slumber, but controlled. Perhaps I was already dead, but my soul disagrees with my body. Or maybe, I am just having a bad dream. I chuckled. Who am I kidding? If I really am in a nightmare again, surely I'm going to be haunted by the same ole' needle with a purple liquid. I'm going insane.

No.

I'm already insane.

 Kaname's Pov

I teared out the heart of the next Level E that comes in my way to him. How many more? I've lost count. It was as if he invented a mass production of them that it seems like he's got an endless supply of the former humans. I shot up my hand as another one of them jumps in attempt on harming me, letting my telekinesis send them miles away into an old oak tree that stands up almighty against the pile of remaining ashes.

And there I see him. Leaning against a new oak tree just a few meters away from the old one. He smirked.

"I take that as my greeting, Rido."

He clapped his hands as his laughter filled the eerie woods. I gave him a glare, up-leveling my aura to make him not able to do sudden movements. After all I am not only the Ancestor of the Kuran blood, but also the new head.

"Where is she?" I asked with anger, leaving no gaps for humor each syllable I speak.

He gave me his playful look. One brow up with the other remaining the same, a questioning manner.

"Who do you mean, may I ask? Ka. Na. Me. Sa. Ma?"

Rage overwhelmed me when I teleported to him to grab him by his neck. My arm lifted his body up as if he weighs of nothing.

"I'll ask you one more time. Where. Is. She?"

He sneered.

"Oh. You mean Sara? She's over there."

He pointed with his thumb to the left. But what I only saw was a large ball of pitch black with an overwhelming power radiating outwards. Surprisingly, it was a familiar power, like I knew what the source of it.

I returned my glare back at him and pressed him further into the already damaged tree.

"Don't joke with me. Where is she?"

"Well you see, Kaname-kun. The betrayal she felt built up over the years and so now she has too much of it that her heart just simply cannot hold onto such stress any longer. As you know, she IS the Blue Rose and so lets just say that her powers had build up alongside with her emotions and when she couldn't hold onto her emotions anymore, her powers overflowed along with her emotions. And this is where I come in!"

Rido forced my hand away and in a speed faster than light, he reversed our positions and gripped onto my neck, tightening it as he speaks.

"Ho- How?"

He chuckled.

"My dearest Ancestor. You have left out some information about the Princess. Which is also the Most Important information too. When the Rose Princess give her blood to someone, she can do two things. One is to heal. Two is to share some of her powers temporarily. However, if she shares her blood and the being who receives her blood gives some their own at the same time, that's a different matter. Not only they share powers but also when the Princess' powers increase, so do theirs."

Pictures of the liquid inside the needle that was inserted into Sara's body flowed into my head. My brain still remembers every detail of the violet liquid, APTX 4869. White coats with the emblem of an orchid flower. The hidden science research lab in the basement of a wrecked industry.

My eyes widened when I realised what he had done.

"The lab."

He burst into laughter, releasing his grip on me to grab hold of himself.

"Yes you are right, Kaname-kun. I opened that lab.

And it was MY blood that she had drank."
