Chapter 17

It was about 3pm and Drake was at his house along with the rest of his crew setting up for nicki's surprise party. He had decided to keep it a small thing but he wanted her to enjoy, what was going to be her last irthday as best she could. She had always talked about house she wanted someone to throw her a surprise party and he found there was no better time than now. 

Courtne: What time are you going to get her 

Drake: Around 5-6 ish. So that will giveall you guys a chance to go back to yours and get yourselves ready before i actually go to get her

Abel: Sounds good

Ashley: I still cant believe that you managed to keep it away from her for this long. 

Nicole: I know, but its cute of him.

He gave a weak smile before just continuing to get everything set up. Everyone else also continued with the setting up and making sure everyone that was coming knew what was going on. His mother had agreed to go and spend the night at Carol's so they could have as much fun as they wanted till as late as they wanted without the worry of disturbing her. 

Noah: What are you going to tell her when she asks you where you're going with her

Drake: I'll just tell her that we're going out for dinner

Ryan: But then she's gonna know the surprise is for her 

Drake: But she wont know that everyone is here and that its actually a small surprise party for her will she?

Ryan: Very true

Noah: When are we going to buy more drinks

Drake: We can go now 

Abel: Lets go

With that all the guys headed off while the girls remained at home to finish up the getting ready of the house.

Ashley: You know,how hard it is to see him like that 

Courtne: I know, it's not nice

Nicole: But if i was to say something, it's getting better. He's coming to terms with it now and accepting the fact he's got to let her go

They all agreed.

Nicole: Just know this isnt the worst of it. It's yet to get worse than this

Ashley: I dont know how im gonna cope with that. He's my big brother and seeing him like that is gonna kill me 

Courtne: I know, but he's a strong guy. He'll find a way to deal with it i know he will.

Nicki: are you sure i'm not over dressed for dinner brey 

Drake: You look perfect babe

Nicki: are you sure

She bit her lip and he stood and walked over to her and put his hands on her waist before giving her a peck on the lips

Drake: positive. Now come on

He took her hand and overnight bag while she took her phone from the bedside table and headed off to his car. They made sure to go and say goodbye to their mothers before heading out and to drake's house.

Drake: I seem to have forgotten my wallet so im just gonna head in and get it. wanna come in

Nicki: sure, why not

They both got out of the car and made their way to the door. Drake walked in and turned on the light before letting her walk in front of him, making her way to the living room. She opened the door and was greeted by something she wasnt expecting.

E/B: SURPRISE!

To say she was shocked would be an understatement. She looked around at all the faces around her as they all sang happy birthday to her while Drake bought in her birthday cake. She couldnt stop the tears of happiness that left her eyes.

Courtne: Blow out the candles nic make a wish

She gave a small smile before she did exactly that. Her wish was something simple, but always something she didnt want to leave the world without. Everyone cheered as she just laughed. Noah turned on the music causing everyone to go off and start dancing and getting into the party mood. Drake smiled at her before he carried the cake back into the kitchen. She swiftly followed him into the kitchen and watched as he placed the cake somewhere it wouldnt be ruined and turned to find her standing by the door.

Drake: Surprise

He shrugged a little which caused her to chuckled before walking over to him and wrapping her arms around his neck before placing a kiss on his lips, leaving them red for the lipstick she was wearing.

Nicki: Thank you

Drake: it wasnt all me. To be honest i played a small part in the background

Nicki: Whatever part you did play, you were the only one who knew i wanted a surprise party so thank you for making it happen.

Drake: I love you

Nicki: I love you too

Nicki was now just sat on a chair in one of the corners of the room. She was feeling a little bit tipsy from the alcohol they had been consuming, but it wasn't affecting her too much. She just sat thinking of one of her previous birthday's that she had made a wish almost similar to the one she had made tonight.

E/B: Happy birthday, dear Nicki, Happy Birthday to youuuu

She smiled at everyone singing happy birthday to her. Stood next to her was Lauren and on the other side Drake. They had been friends for almost a year now and they only got closer by the day.

Carol: blow out the candle and make a wish

She closed her eyes tightly and blew out the candles as everyone around her cheered for her. It was simple wish, but there as nothing she wanted more than that wish to be grarunteed.

Drake looked over at her. She seemed to be in deep thought, but the small smile on her face convinced him that he had nothing to worry about. He walked over to her and reached for her hand as she wokeup from her trance. She looked up at him and smiled before taking his hand and going to dance with him as John Legends 'Tonight' played through the speakers. Everyone 'awwed' at them causing them both to blush. It wasnt long before others joined them on the dance floor. They just rocked slowly to the beat as she rested her head on his should and he put his arms around her.

Nicki and Drake were sat together in their den, which was in a hidden part of the forest. It was a den that the two of them had agreed to only beknowest to them as it was theone place they could have the privacy of their secret conversation without the iterruptions of others.

Nicki: You wanna know what i wished for on my birthday

Drake: If you tell me then it wont happen

Nicki: But if i tell you then you can help me to make it happen

Drake: well you shouldn't tell me

Nicki: But you want to know 

Drake: fine, tell me

Nicki: I wished for me and you to be best friends forever. I dont ever wanna loose the friendship we have. I can count on you for everything and i would hate it if we ever stopped being friends. We're like brother and sister, but we're not at the same time and it just makes me so happy to have someone like you around that i can trust for anything an through anything. So dont let me down brey.

Drake: i wont. I promise

Nicki: Pinky Promise

She held out her pinky to him and he confidently interlosked it with his own

Drake: Pinky Promise

Drake looked at nicki as she raised one of her hands to wipe a stray tear.

Drake: whats up

Nicki: Nothing

She chuckled a little.

Nicki: Im just thinking of that day when we madethepromise to be best friends forever. I guess it worked hey 

She wiped another tear that was now rolling down her cheek before chuckling to herself. He looked her in the eyes and gave a weak smile to stop himself from crying. He leaned in and placed a kiss on her lips causing the others to make a big deal out of it.

Drake: I guess it did.

Everyone now left and it was just nicki and drake left. She watched as he picked up the last of the cups and put them in the bin before he then turned to look at her and gave her small smile. He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her and gave her a kiss. Nicki wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. He picked her up and carried her upstairs to his room, where they proceeded their night.
