Chapter five: First kiss

Chapter Five

"Veronica." I greeted. I felt a lump in my throat already. I really doubt smirking at her in the store already. "Your the guy who talked to me in the store right?" "Oh yeah, sorry about that, I was just goofing around." I said shyly, smiling at my feet. "No need to apologize, it was cute." I blushed as she walked over to me. She sat on the desk. "Uhm.. Yo-you might get marks on the de-" She cut me off. She kissed me. Her lips were soft, and I could smell and taste the strawberry lipgloss on her lips. Soon she stood up and got me sitting on the desk. It was kinda nice because I hadn't really kissed someone before. I broke the kiss out of nervousness and she looked me into the eyes. She slowly took off my glasses. "Your eyes look so much better without glasses. They're so green." I looked away nervously, as she took the hint. She laughed quietly and left, leaving me sitting on my own desk.  

My co-worker, and the girl I met in the store just yesterday gave me my first kiss. And it felt great. She was also stunning. I picked a good job. She actually likes me! I smiled and laughed to myself again as I finished unpacking and setting up my stuff. I headed out of my office to go walk around some more. I went to poor myself some coffee, and sat down on the couch next to Leeroy. "Your name was Leeroy hmm?!" I asked. "Yes, your the new kid right? Marcel?! I love the name." I drank my coffee when Veronica went to grab some coffee as well. Leeroy got up and went to poor himself a cup. "I love your blouse! It goes great with your eyes!!" Leeroy complimented Veronica. "Thank you Leeroy!" She smiled as she left back to her office with her steaming cup.

Leeroy sat next to me again. "Can I tell you something Leeroy?" "Sure, anything! Were co-workers, we have to start getting to know each other as much as we can." He was right. "Well, I was setting up my office earlier, and Veronica came in and kissed me." "Oooooh! How was it? Steamy?" He chuckled. "It was great, and I'm scared. She was my first kiss." I bit my lip. "Aww, You'll be fine mate, she is a gorgeous girl, and you're a good looking man so you have absoluely nothing to worry about! If shes flirting with you, and kissed you, you really need to make a move!" "I know but the guy doesn't always have to make the first move. Now, while women might feel socially restricted from boldly pursing men, we’re actually the choosier gender in terms of mate selection. But in the speed dating study, when it was the women’s turns to approach men, the roles reversed. As the more passive participants, men became the choosier sex while women expressed more self-confidence and attraction toward their speed dating targets." "Just kiss her okay?" "Fine." I sighed.

"Oh. Can I also tell you something Marcel?" "Sure." He moved closer to me and whispered in my ear. "Harvey and Johny only pay us so much because their really needy for workers. Its so easy to get a job here because barely anyone comes to work here." I bursted out laughing as he laughed along. "I'll be going back to my office now, thanks for the tip Leeroy." I laughed, taking my coffee back to my office.
