Chapter 9

I WAS GONNA UPDATE YESTERDAY BUT I GOT DISTRACTED BY OTHER FANFIC im sure you can relate~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Annabeth POV

I spent the rest of my day doing things around camp and leading activities. When night struck and the campfire was over, the campers were expected to be in their cabins asleep. I was not. Athena fixed my Yankee's cap once I returned the Athena Parthenos. I fit it over my head and slipped out a window so as not to disturb the younger kids. I made my way down to the beach where I saw a familiar figure laying on the beach, manipulating a small ball of water. Even after almost 6 years he still took my breath away. He didn't hear me coming, too intently focused, but he saw me as I sat down and took my cap off.  Percy let the water free, splashing down onto the beach as he looked up at the sky.

"Hey," I said. Gently, softly, carefully. Percy is complicated, and I may throw him around the arena, but when it comes to personal stuff, like our relationship, care is key. 

"Hey," he took a breath before responding. "So, you and Piper? I didn't think I'd ever see the day." He ran a hand through his hair and turned to me with a smile.

"It wasn't really supposed to happen. It just kinda did. If I planned any of this, you know I would have told you." I put my hand on top of his before he turned it over and intertwined our fingers.

"I know. I trust you. It's good we can talk about this. Our whole relationship revolves around respect and trust and communication. The fact that I have you and that we have those things makes me happier than anything else." He looked at me then, like I was everything that mattered to him.

I leaned forwards and placed my lips on his, like I had a thousand times before. He tasted like wind and saltwater as he kissed me slowly.

We stayed like that for a while, worries melting away in a night that felt like magic. With the moonlight to guide us on a path we had well memorized, we made our way back to his cabin and fell asleep wrapped around eachother.

Piper POV

I didn't even go back to my cabin after dinner. I passed off the duty to my second in command and jogged my way over to Jason, hooking my arm around his and I poked fun about him being pelted with blueberries all through the meal.

"You know, you still have leaves in your hair." He joked, pulling one out to show me.

"Yeah, and you still have fruit splatters on your shirt." I replied, pointing several out.

"I guess we just both look like messes at the moment," he ran a large hand through my hair and I leaned into the touch, pressing my body into his considerably larger one.

I knew about him and percy. We talked about it before they even did anything. Jason made sure it was okay with me before doing anything at all with another person. AQ string of guilt twinged inside my gut at the thought that I hadn't done the same. Yeah, I'd been eyeing Annabeth since the first time I saw her, but never in a million years did I think she would reciprocate any of my feelings other than platonic ones. This was all an accident that I wouldn't take back.

But how to tell him that.

"So I Kinda Might Be A Lot In Love With Annabeth" I blurted out. it cane out as more of a soIkindamightbealotinlovewithannabeth. Jason just laughed and squeezed my shoulder with his hand that had settled there.

"Yeah, I kinda noticed that."

"Thank actual God. I'm??? How is she so damn pretty, and Percy too like they need to chill with their powerful and will kill you in a glance aesthetic." I laughed, melting into our old routine of banter and contact.

"I agree. Hey, I hear Leo got some VHS tapes and a TV working down in bunker 9, you wanna see if he'll let all four of us chill out with him and watch 80s movies?"

"In what world would I say no to that?"

It was a date.
