Shawarma

You watch as everyone spreads out, standing beside Steve looking out over the fight. You're firing shots in each direction, taking down as many of the aliens as possible. But with each one you kill, another swarm flies out from the portal. You've taken some pretty bad hits, and even though there's no external wounds, you're body is aching.

You breathe deeply in and out. As you look over at Steve. "Captain this is hopeless.. our only chance at ending this is if we close off that portal" you sigh deeply.

Steve looks up at the portal, shaking his head. "Our biggest guns couldn't touch it.."

"Well maybe this war isn't fought with guns" you shrug. Steve turns to you. "We need to do this on our own"

He looks sadly down at you, as he nods his head. "Well if you want to get up there, you're going to need a ride" he chuckles.

You look up at the sky. "I think I've got one" you smirk. "I could use a hand though"

Steve steps back. "Are you sure about this?" He asks nervously.

"Yeah sure.. it's gonna be fun" you exhale deeply. Not sure if fun is the right word to describe this.

You run towards him, as fast as you can, he holds his shield upwards. You jump onto a car, using it to get up on the shield. As he pushes you upwards. You hang onto one of the Chitauris aircrafts. As you float through the sky. You climb on top of the aircraft, kicking the chitauri down. And although you've never had a problem with heights, at the speed it's going through the air, you're having a hard time to hold on. Tony flies by, clearing out your way, as you struggle to navigate it.

Suddenly another of the aircrafts follow behind you. But it's not firing against you. As you turn around you see Loki. He jumps onto the back of where you're standing.

"You're going to get yourself killed" he yells. As he takes over the control.

"Why are you helping me?" You scoff angrily.

"I'm not" he chuckles, as he sends you flying down onto the ground. As you float through the air, feeling the cold air rush though you. You close your eyes shut, not able to get one word out. Not even a cry for help. Any minute now you could collide with the earth. But instead of the concrete sidewalk, you feel a rush as Thor sweeps you up. Landing you safely on the ground.

"Don't worry I've got him" Clint scoffs. As he fires an arrow directly at him. And although some part of you wants Loki to be stopped.. you can't bare to loose him. There's still a hope inside of you, that somewhere deep inside, there's still that Loki you once knew. You close your eyes shut. You can't look at this. But you don't hear anything. No one falling..As you look back up at the sky, Loki caught the arrow. You exhale in relief, until you see an explosion sensing him crashing through the windows of the Stark Tower. Hulk jumps onto the building following him inside.

You run as fast as you can.. You can't let him die.. not until you get another chance to talk to him.. And just like that you don't feel the pain anymore. Your need for him to live, is stronger than the ache in your body.

As you reach the building, Loki is unconscious on the floor. But he's got a pulse.. which means he's alive.. at least for now. You hear Natashas voice just outside. Slowly making your way towards her.

"How do we stop this?" You ask..

"Lokis Sceptor. The energy. The tesseract can't fight, but you can't protect against yourself" Dr Selvig explains.

Natasha leans down towards him. "Hey it's not your fault. You didn't know what you were doing" she says gently.

"Actually I think I did" he scoffs.

"What do you mean?" You question.

"I built in a safety, to cut their power source.." he explains.

You and Nat look at each other as you finally understand how you're gonna shut this portal down. "Lokis Sceptor" you say in sync.

"It will be the only way to close down the portal" he murmurs. "And I'm looking right at it" he says as he looks down.

It landed just outside where Loki went through the window. If you get to it.. you'll finally be able to end this.

"Y/n are you there" Nicks voice suddenly echoes through your earpiece.

"I'm here what's wrong?" You ask sacredly. You can already sense on his voice it's not good news.

"The government . They're sending a nuclear missile to you.. we tried to hold it back.. but it's coming.. and it's coming soon" he explains.

"How long?"

"I don't know.. 3 minutes, max." He says sadly.

"Alright everyone.. we've got a missile incoming in under three minutes, we have to stop it.. at all costs" you call out, through comms.

"I'm on it" Tony says coldly. As you see him fly off towards the sky. "Just get that portal down"

You turn to Nat, as you run for the Sceptor before anyone else can get to it. As soon as you've got it, you throw it up to Natasha. As she and Selvig tries to close of the portal. You make your way down onto the streets. Trying to clear out the streets.

"We've Got the Sceptor.. we can shut the portal down" Natasha says.

"Do it now!" Steve exclaims.

"No wait!" Tony yells out.

"What do you mean wait, these aliens are still coming through.. we can't end this without closing of the portal" you explain.

"We've got a nuke coming towards the city.. and we can't just let it blow up this place.. it's gonna blow in less than a minute" Tony adds.

"So what's the plan?" You question.

"Hold that portal open until I say go" he sighs sadly.

And just like that you realize what he's going to do.. and under no circumstances are you gonna let him do that.. he'll die.

"Tony?" You call out trying to reach him. "I know you can hear me.. and don't you dare" you sigh.

He doesn't answer you.

"Tony Stark. I'm begging you don't do this" you try calling out to him again. His ignoring you. "Please.." you say softly. You stand on the ground alone and isolated as you see him flying up towards the portal. He's not turning back, and he's not hesitating. Suddenly within seconds he disappears into thin air, as he goes through it.

"TONY STARK IF YOU DONT GET BACK DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW" you scream. "I'm gonna.." you trail off. You stand patiently waiting for any sign he's okay.

Suddenly all the Chitauri powers down. He did it..

"We need to close it.. the explosion is getting closer" Natasha says sadly. As she looks up at the sky.

"No! Wait" you call out.

But there's no sign of him...

"Close it.." Steve sighs.

You still keep your eyes locked up at the sky. As you see the portal slowly closing. Without any sign of Tony.

As the portal closes your face lights up.. he made it.. he fucking made it. You run searching for the others, as you find Thor and Steve looking up as he flies down. Until you realize he's not flying... he's falling.

"He's not slowing down" Thor says worriedly.

"Thor do something" you yell.

But before he can fly off, Hulk grabs him mid air, sliding down against a building carrying him safely to the ground. You and the guys runs towards them. As hulk lays him slowly on the ground. But he's not moving.

"Is he alive?" You stammer.

Thor rips off his mask. There's no sign of life. It feels like you're staring down at him for an eternity. You can't loose him. Not when you've only just gotten him back into your life. And even though he hates you.. you still love and care for him deeply. You grab onto his hand as you hold it close. As your eyes starts to tear up. You feel your heart sink deep into your chest.. you can't possibly have lost him.

Steve kneels down beside him. As he look up at you. Seeing as your heart breaks into a million pieces. This is exactly the reason you've been on the run for so many years. To escape this feeling. The feeling of loosing someone you love.

Suddenly Hulk roars loudly. As you cover your ears. Tony gasps as he shuts open his eyes. Breathing heavily.

"What the hell?" Tony says shocked. You fall into his arm as you hold onto him tightly. "Did you miss me?" He chuckles satisfied, as he lets his arms wrap around you to.

You turn to look at his face, with teary eyes. "I swear If you ever pull a trick like that again.. I'm gonna kill you myself" you whimper. As you embrace him once again.

Steve looks at you sadly..

"What happened?" Tony asks confusedly.

You help him up, as you look around the city.

"We won" Steve chuckles.

"We won Tony" you smile happily. Mostly because you did it.. but also because Tony is okay..

Tony sighs deeply, as he rests his head against you shoulder.. "alright yaay" he chuckles. "Hurray.. good job guys"

"You're not funny" you scoff. Your heart is still beating in your throat.. you can't do this again.. the pain. It's much worse than any impact those Chitauri put on you. This was inside of your heart.. something that can't be healed within seconds.

"How about we take the day off tomorrow huh?.." Tony keeps talking.

You and Steve laugh as he mumbles.

"Have you ever tried Shawarma?" Tony questions. You just shake your head.. you know the man just has a near death experience, but you're far from hungry right now. "There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here.. I don't know what it is.. but I want to try it today"

"You're a crazy man stark" Steve grins. "But fine, we'll get some food"

"We're not finished yet" Thor says sadly, as he looks up at the tower.

"Right Loki" you sigh deeply.

"And then shawarma after right?"

You get up, as you reach out your hand helping Tony up on his feet. "We'll get food after I promise" you smile weakly.

With heavy steps you make your way to the top of the tower. Loki is sitting on the stairs, badly injuries. As all seven of you corner around him. He looks you up and down as he sighs heavily.

Clint is pointing an arrow right as his face. As you stand behind him. Looking down at him with sadness in your eyes.

"If it's all the same to you.. id like that drink now" Loki chuckles as a smile peaks on his lips.

You Shake your head looking Down at him.

"Was it something I said?" He smirks darkly.

"Take him away" Tony scoffs
