Chapter 16

"I'm actually doing good." I smiled, and Elliot beamed at knowing that I was good.

"And how are you feeling?" He asked, and I sighed.

"Still get a little sick everyone once and awhile, but other than that, I'm okay." I spoke, and he sat next to me and gently kissed me.

"I can't wait to get you back home." Elliot spoke, and Eli nodded quickly.

"I agree with Dad. It's weird to not have you home." He spoke, and I reached over and grabbed my step son's hand and squeezed it.

"I'll be home before you know it." I smiled.

"How soon is that?" Elliot asked, and then someone cleared their throat. I looked up and Dr. Lindstrom was standing there and smiling.

"Elliot, you should have be getting your wife back in two months." he spoke, and I watched as the blue eyes of Eli and Elliot faded.

"She's going to be in here for three total months?" Elliot mumbled, and he nodded.

"That is the time that the program takes." he replied. He looked at us, and frowned.

"I wish I had a shorter amount of time to tell you." He frowned. He sighed and walked away, leaving us there. I looked at Eli and Elliot and frowned.

"Don't worry. Now that I've been here for a month, you can come and see me every weekend!" I said with excitement, but it just didn't help.

We talked for a little bit longer, but then they had to leave because I had sessions to attend.

I walked them towards the door and hugged Eli warmly. My stepson was crying and I was too. I held her close and then whispered to him.

"I'll be home for good soon. I love you so much." I spoke, and he nodded.

"Take care of my little brother." He smiled, and I laughed.

"I think I can do that." I spoke. I kissed the top of his head, before moving to Elliot.

I hugged him, and he hugged me back. He held me close and then leaned down to kiss me softly.

"I'll call tomorrow morning." He spoke, and I nodded.

"Okay." I smiled, and he sighed and kissed me a few more times.

"Olivia, come on! We have a few minutes before our session." My room mate Joy called. I nodded and then hugged my husband and sighed.

"I love you so much." I spoke, and he nodded.

"I love you too, Livvie. Like Eli said, take care of my son." he smiled and I laughed.

"I think its a girl, but if you insist." I spoke. I sighed as they turned and walked out. I looked at my family as they walked out, and tears ran down my cheeks. I crossed my arms before slowly walking away.

Another month went by, and I saw the boys every weekend. Then I had gotten a call on Saturday saying that Eli and Elliot couldn't come, but they were going to send someone, so I was surprised when I got told my visitors was here.

I got out of my bed, and breathed slowly, trying to keep my nausea at bay, and walked out. I followed the nurse to the sitting room, and then I saw the young blonde detective and the man who was like my brother sitting there. I smiled largely and they both stood up.

"Hey baby girl." Fin smiled, before walking over to me. He hugged me and I hugged him back.

"Oh, I've missed you." I spoke, and he smiled. He pulled away and then Amanda awkwardly waved me.

"Hey Liv." She spoke, and I stepped forward and hugged her.

"I've missed you too, Manda." I spoke and she hugged my tighter.

"I can't wait to have you back. I'm tired of being surrounded by men." She spoke, and I smiled.

"I'll be back in a month, but then I won't be working in the field." I spoke, and she nodded.

"Congrats on the baby." She spoke, and I smiled.

"How is Jesse?" I asked, and her eyes lit up when I mentioned her little girl.

"She misses her aunt." She spoke suddenly, and I looked at her surprised.

"I miss her too." I spoke, and she sighed. We sat and then Fin touched my arm.

"So, how is everything going here?" He asked.

"I'm doing good. I've had some panic attacks and of course my depression has been hard to battle, but I can feel myself in a better place." I spoke, and he smiled.

"Good. And I heard that Elliot and Eli coming has cheered you up." he spoke, and I nodded.

"It has been amazing! I've missed my boys. And now I don't really miss my best friends." I spoke, and Amanda looked at me surprised.

"I knew that Fin was your bestie, but me?" She questioned and I chuckled.

"Being the only two girls in the squad makes people get close." I laughed and she smiled.

"Can we bring you anything?" Fin asked, as I crossed my legs and got more comfortable on the couch.

"I can have stuff, but you have to clear it with the supervisor. I really miss this quilt from home. It was my Mom's and I can still smell her on it even after all these years." I spoke, and they smiled.

"I'll talk to Elliot about getting it here." Fin spoke, and I nodded.

We talked about just our lives, and I heard about everything happening with our crew. Then they left, and I was left with that same feeling of loneliness. I knew I was going to have to discuss it with Dr. Lindstrom.

"So, I heard that Amanda and Fin came to visit you today?" He spoke, but mostly asked.

"Yeah. They came and we talked about the crew and Amanda's daughter." I spoke, and he nodded.

"Something is on your mind, Olivia." he spoke, and I nodded.

"Is it normal for me to feel so lonely once my guests leave?" I asked, and he nodded.

"It is. I know that it is hard. You are used to being surrounded by so many people, and then the ones you love leave, it can be hard."

"I know that they can't stay forever, but I never thought that it would be this hard. Elliot was supposed to be around for the whole pregnancy, and I wasn't supposed to be back here." I frowned, and he nodded.

"Olivia, I know you don't want to be here, but you are doing everything in your power to make sure you and your family have a good life. Being able to have a life to look forward is going to help you make it through this last month." He spoke, and I nodded. I ran my hands through my short brown hair and let out a small sigh.

"I hope so."
