I Love You
23:45, 18 June 2022The minute I stepped out of the airport I was met with freezing cold weather.
Shivering, I tucked my hands into my jacket pockets and waited for my Uber.
I looked around and all I could see was snow piled on the sides of the road.
It was the middle of winter and everyone was dressed in huge winter jackets, hats, and gloves.
I however underestimated how cold it was going to be.
I wore only a single fur-lined coat and a black beanie. I didn't have gloves which was a huge mistake.
Around ten minutes of standing outside waiting for my Uber to get here, it finally showed. I hurried into the Toyota Highlander with my bag clutched to my chest and greeted the old man driving.
He looked to be about 60. He had grey hair and a warm smile that greeted me with kindness.
"Hi, I'm Cameron."
He took my hand in his and firmly shook it.
"Y/n." I replied, smiling back.
"So where you headed?" He asked, gesturing for me to type in an address to his gps.
"Sorry- I'd do it myself but the damned buttons are just too small." He frowned.
"No worries." I reassured.
I typed in the address Chance had sent me and as soon as I hit enter a loud voice told the old man exactly what to do.
25 minutes later we arrived at the address and I got out of the car.
I paid the old man and waved goodbye.
As soon as he drove away I froze in place.
I wasn't sure if it was just the cold weather, or maybe I wasn't ready for this. But either way I was frozen and needed to move.
I had to get behind the house before Judd or one of his roommates caught me lurking in their front yard.
My shoes sunk into the deep layers of snow as I trudged along the poorly shoveled walkway.
I made my way up the stairs to the back porch and had to pinch myself to keep from bursting through the back door and into Judd's arms.
There he was.
I could see him through the large window, standing there, leaning up against the kitchen counter sharpening his knife.
I realized then that I had no plan whatsoever so I just decided to go back around to the front door and knock.
There I stood, in front of the door that was my opening back to Judd.
I raised my fist to knock but yet I couldn't.
If he tells you he doesn't want you anymore Y/n then that's that. Don't push it, but you need to find out.
I knocked twice. Then when no one answered I knocked three more times.
Then the door opened, and he was standing there. Eyes wide and in shock.
"Judd-"
I practically jumped into his arms.
I held tight and refused to let go, he seemed the same way.
It felt like if I let go he'd be gone again. But I decided that didn't matter, because if he left then I would just find him all over again.
"I love you." I whispered as tears burned in my waterline.
"I love you too-" he said before cupping my face in his hands and kissing me passionately. His lips pressed against mine as if this were the last time they'd get to.
We came up for air and he just stared at me.
"You have no idea how much I've missed you." He muttered.
"Then why'd you leave.." I forced myself to ask the question.
He frowned and led me to the couch.
I sat down and gazed at him, waiting for him to explain.
"I got scared, Y/n."
I fought back a laugh.
It was ironic, Judd, being scared.
"You know I would never do anything to hurt you Judd."
"I know that.. well, I know that now. I was talking to Chance, and-"
"Oh I talked to Chance myself." I frowned.
"That big idiot doesn't know what he's talking about Judd." I laughed.
"I realized that, actually I was just about to call you. I realized that even if in the end I got hurt it would've been worth it because I love you and I want to be with you as much as possible."
I smiled and stood up to walk over to him.
"Can we go home now? It's really fucking cold."
Judd laughed and I started laughing with him.
"Yeah, let's go home."
