Chapter 36
13:12, 21 May 2016Jimin's POV
My throat went dry as a thumping in my chest became heavier and much louder. Her words echoed throughout the room — V and Mrs Park didn't blink nor bat an eyelash. I guessed they too realised she had amnesia.
The two soon left the room, probably realising that we needed some alone time. I stepped closer to her and I noticed her flinch. Her eyes watered and she pulled the blanket up closer to her face. Taehee's breath became ragged and heavy, her hands that clutched on the blanket was trembling.
"A-Ah I'm sorry but can you not come so close?"
I nodded and smiled sadly. "I guess I should re-introduce myself." I bowed and heaved a sigh, "my name is Park Jimin, I'm in my final year of high school. I'm currently a full time idol in a group called Bangtan Seonyeondan. I'm currently in love with you but I haven't been making you happy like I promised!"
She peered at me before lowering the blanket. I noticed a change in her demeanour quickly. "Let me guess. We've been dating for less than a year, you probably have a jealous ex-girlfriend, your girlfriend has been trying to break us up, you've been hanging out with this dumbass girl and you have been neglecting me." She blurted out thoughtlessly.
A tinge in my body made me twitch my eye slightly, knowing how she was dead on. The journal explained how Jinae was harassing Taehee with Hani.
Taehee stared at my reaction and smirked rather amused of my reaction to her statement. Without a doubt, she's going to be much different from the girl I've learned to know. I stepped forward and watched as her eyes flickered down to my feet.
"So Jimin? Can you tell me why I fell for you in the first place?" She smiled at me and tilted her head to the side, almost mockingly. "Because I can't really see myself falling for you. You're good looking and all but you seem to have hurt me a lot. I would prefer if you would allow me to try and remember about myself, I can barely remember my own name and brother."
Her words were sharp and I fully understood the hidden message behind her fair but cruel words.
"You want to break up with me." I breathed out, barely letting the words pass my lips
She nodded, her pale complexion was still ghostly. A cut on her lip caused some bruising and swelling. Parts of her arm were purple mixed with a dirty yellow while other parts had shallow cuts. Yet she still looked so beautiful in my eyes.
Almost as if she was a beautiful monster. Her sharp words brought a dagger to my stomach but I fully knew her side.
Confusion was welling up in her mind, forcing her to remember me was a burden.
"I'm sorry. I might not remember you Jimin but I know I can't trust you right now. And now that I faintly know you did, I don't think I can trust you at all. I know I'm being unreasonable but I will try my best to give you one last chance." Taehee turned away and laid back down, "I would like to rest now."
I bowed once more, she was giving me yet another chance. "Please get well soon Taehee. I love you."
Her body tensed up and she didn't reply back. I could tell she was feeling awkward so I just left without another word. I shut the door and heaved a sigh before all the members came running up to me with pitiful expressions plastered on their face.
"No good?" J-Hope asked, patting me on the back. "Don't worry she probably doesn't remember me either!" He joked, however it was rather humourless since I knew he was devastated as much as me.
V looked blankly at me, his hand clenched into a tight fist and I could still feel my cheek burning in a pit of hot fire. "You broke up didn't you?"
I rubbed my neck and reluctantly nodded. "It's understandable." I muttered.
Moving to the side, I tucked my hands into the pockets of my pants and looked down to avoid any eye contact. "I'm going to take a walk." I mutter bleakly, walking out of the room without another word exchanged.
Before I could leave the hospital Jungkook grabbed my shoulder and gave me a look that just explained his intention of following me. I gave him a curt nodd, not really caring what he wanted to do — I just needed some time to just let my mind wonder without any other disturbances or any other people, V was usually the one who would comfort me but he's way too pissed off with me to even talk to me normally. So I guess Jungkook was the next best thing.
We walked in silence. The sky was a picturesque view — a midnight blue pigment mingled with a eminence purple pigment and was dusted with white specks. The cold night blew cold wind against my skin, sending small goosebumps on my skin.
"Do you think noona will remember us?" Jungkook asked, breaking the awkward silence between us.
My eyes peered up into the sky. "I don't know Jungkook. I'm actually scared if she does remember; she'll break up with me again because I'm the worst boyfriend in the world and nothing I do will ever change the fact that I caused her to be in this pain again."
Jungkook chuckled, "are you going to give up?"
I stopped walking and halted. My legs stopped moving and just stood still, I turned my head over to look at him.
"I'm never going to give up on her." ___________________________
While Taehee stayed in the hospital, V ended up convincing me that I should move back into the house while our promotions were on hold. Jungkook came back as well and we were all living in that same house where everything began.
For the time being, only family was permitted to visit the female. Solbi and Eunha were upset with the decision but didn't make a huge fuss about it. J-Hope was allowed to visit for some reason, I heard he was still pretty beat up about his best friend forgetting he ever existed.
V's mood was improving a little, he had told me that Taehee had began calling him by his nickname 'Taetae' again and had small memories that she could recall.
Other than that, nothing had changed.
Until today.
The doctors had given her consent to come home. Mrs Park welcomed her daughter to stay with her for the time being but V argued that staying in a familiar place would help with the memory loss.
So here I sat, sitting on the edge of my chair, just waiting for the door bell to ring. I chuckled faintly reminiscing the first time I came here and net Taehee.
Flashback
"V do you think your sister would like me?" I inquired, pulling my luggage with me. I was reconsidering my rash actions of bluntly living with a stranger that I've never met before in my life.
V who was pulling weird faces and taking selcas, shrugged. "Taehee is nice, she's always forgiving even if you mess up all bad. Besides the point, we're here!" He pushed me to the front and gestured that I should be the one who presses the door bell.
Groaning inwardly, I pushed the door bell and inhaled a sharp breath. A series of footsteps echoed form inside the house and I noticeably flinched. I gripped onto Jungkook's arm and scrunched my face up. The door opened and a tall female opened the door.
"Taehyung, I missed you!" She exclaimed. Wrapping her arms around my waist and she buried her head in the crook of my neck.
My cheeks flushed and I stiffened up as she shut her eyes. Her cold glasses frames sent a shiver down my spine. I glanced over at the other two and sent an expression that just screamed for help. Jungkook stared at me, just as surprised while V was biting his lip to hold back a hoard of laughter that was ready to erupt.
After a moment, V finally responded to my call for help and cleared his throat, "I missed you too Taehee." He said. She glanced over to V who was smirking teasingly.
I finally caught sight of her face and noticed her adorable features.
She shot him a confused look. Her adorable facial features furrowed and her soft looking lips curved down to a frown. She blinked again and flickered her brown eyes from the ground back at V; confusion was written all over her face as she narrowed her eyes slightly.
"Eh, Taehyung?"
She hesitantly pulled back and stared at me who looked slightly dumbfounded and still flustered.
Without any time wasted, she bent over and bowed. The female covered her face as it was turning redder by the second. She sneakily glanced to V probably to help lighten the situation but he simply mockingly smiled in response and I knew he wasn't willing to help her out.
"Um .... Do you want to come inside?" She asked softly, almost like a whisper. I nodded my head stiffly and walked inside with V and Jungkook awkwardly following behind.
When we were out of sight, I slapped my cheeks and clung onto Jungkook. The younger male pat my head as a comforting action and stared at me rather pitifully. "Jungkook come play! My sister got the newest game for-" V hadn't even finished talking when Jungkook had left my side to play video games with the male.
V finally laughed as he strolled nonchalantly to the Xbox that was plugged into the television.
I groaned and invited myself to sit down on the couch. Pulling out my phone, I decided to check twitter while I still had time. V's sister walked into the room sometime later and awkwardly sat down on the couch but she kept her distance away from me. The room was completely dead silent with the sound of the game as an exception, I could fell my breathing become heavier as I got more nervous.
Soon enough I found myself just mindlessly staring at her as she giggled while staring at her phone. Her large frames hide her perfect complexion and I found her extremely adorable.
She looked up to notice I was staring at her. Our eyes made brief contact before she turned away. She averted her eyes away from mine and looked down to her lap. "D-do you need something?" She stammered.
I shook my head. "I just forgot to introduce myself, my name is Park Jimin. I'm the charm of Bangtan." I extended my hand to shake hers.
"Kim Taehee."
End of Flashback
The doorbell rang and I jumped out of seat and dashed to the door. I nearly tripped over and it honestly hurt but I kept it in because I needed to see her. Jungkook was running just behind me, following behind in just as much excitement.
It's been a while since we've both seen her.
When I opened the door, I pulled her into a hug and heard a gasp escape her lips. I buried my head in her shoulder and smelt her sweet scent that mixed with the crisp aroma of mint. Squeezing her thin figure against me but being careful not to put pressure onto her injuries.
My feelings were spiraling out and just wavering like the wind blowing in the background.
I smiled widely as I felt her pat my back rather awkwardly. I ignored the awkward feeling and just continued hugging her.
"Welcome back Taehee."
