Chapter 22 : Roses?

3rd Person P.O.V

Both Minako and Itachi traveled together, as Minako helped Itachi move on and also secretly teaching him how to love.

But, Minako wasn't the only one with secrets. Itachi was also teaching her how to live, he knew she didn't need to learn much as she could handle herself, without his help.

But that didn't stop him.

Both of them arrived at a small village, and finding a inn, to settle in.

Minako noticed that the village was celebrating something. Eager to find out, after they went in their room.

"I really don't mind sharing a room Itachi." She said, as she changes her clothes.

"Where are you going?" Itachi asked. Looking out a window. While Minako was changing.

"To town. Where else?" She finished changing and grab a few essential needs.

Itachi turned and stared at her. "What do you think?" Minako asked.

She was wearing a short-sleeved kimono-style white blouse, with embroidered borders. Tied with grey obi around her waist. Black shorts and black high-heeled boots.

Itachi noticeably redden. "Staring is rude, ya know." Minako said, putting her hands on her hips, smirking.

Itachi quickly looked away. "Itachi..." Minako said, dragging the " I ".

"Join me."

"No." Itachi still looking away. "C'mon, it will be fun."

"I rather stay here."

Minako grabbed Itachi's arm and turned him to face her. "Please?"

"No." Minako pouted. "Please?"

"Just go without me." Itachi turned but, Minako pulled back. "You're annoying." Itachi said.

"I'll keep annoying you, if you don't come with me."

Itachi sighed. "You're the one wanting to go. So, why are you hassling me?"

"Because, you lack of having fun." Minako said.

"Minako..."

"Itachi...."

They both stared at each other, neither of them budging.

"Fine." Minako jumped and smiled in excitement. Also making Itachi smile a bit.

The both of them went to town, and discovered that the small village was having a contest on who has the best food.

"Oh... Let's go there.." Minako said, dragging Itachi like a rag doll.

"Hey!! It's your favorite!!" She tugged him.

There it was, a stack of dangos. Minako saw the want in Itachi's eyes and decided to buy him dangos, a lot.

By the end, they ended up in a secluded spot, while eating dangos. Minako took the last one before Itachi could, which made Itachi pout unnoticeably.

Minako was about to bite, but she saw Itachi staring, she glances at him and he quickly looks away. "Itachi?"

He ignored her, Minako sweatdropped. "Itachi."

He turns his head and was meet by a delicious looking multi-colored dango. "Bite." She said.

Itachi gave her a confused gaze, and she gestures at the food. He hesitated, but gave in, and took a huge bite.

"Hey! Not that big!" She glared at him, Itachi smirked. Minako childishly stuck her tongue out.

Itachi scoffs, "Be more specific." He said.

They both leaped onto a tree branch, to get more privacy. Minako mumbles something Itachi could barely hear.

"What did you say Minako?"

"Nothing." Minako mumbled.

"That's what I thought."  Itachi stole a glanced and gaze at the moon.

....

"Wow.. roses.." He heard Minako whispered.

He looked at her then flickered his gaze by a nearby rose bushes. "You like roses?" Itachi asked.

"and you don't?" Minako sarcastically say. "Red and white....does it remind you of the Uchiha Crest?" Minako asked mindlessly.

Itachi made a mental note. "Roses." While Minako continued gazing at the roses with fasination.

Itachi shamelessly gaze at her, Red hair and white blouse. Other than those roses, Minako also did remind him about his clan.

...

After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Minako turned her gaze to Itachi, who was already staring at her. She blushes, but doesn't look away like she used to. Unaware, both of them lean in, both caught in each others mesmerizing eyes.

Blue and Onyx.

Itachi's eyes flickered between Minako's eyes and lips.

Minako felt Itachi's lips press against hers gently. His lips warm and soft.

Minako's heart fluttered, she couldn't get it in her mind that Itachi, her crush, is kissing her.

They pulled away, Minako smiled and giggled. This made Itachi somewhat smile, seeing Minako happy, made him also.

I thought I lost everything, even Sasuke.

But here you are...

---- Time Skip ---- Weeks later ----

"Infiltrating?" Minako asked, Itachi nodded.

"Ohhh well, be safe then."

They were traveling again, Minako was close to her destination, which made Itachi sad that she couldn't be with him.

"Are you sure it was the Madara Uchiha?" Minako asked.

"I can only guess."

She sighed as her feet are killing her, Itachi glanced at her, eyebrow raised. "Are you tired?"

Minako snaps her head at him, "Very." "We should rest then."

"I thought you'd never say that." Minako said, plopping near a tear.

Itachi huffs, "To rest, is to walk further." Minako said.

...

Minako explored and found a small lake. At the edge of the lake, she examines if there would be any fish.

As she was always a curious girl.

Itachi followed her, and thought of scaring Minako, as he barely see her scared.

He devilishly smirked, he tosses a rock and it lands beside her, she moves her gaze to the rock. Before Minako could look behind her.

It changes to a spider.

Minako tensed then screams, wanting to run, losing her balance and splashes into the lake.

"UCHIHA!!!" She shouted.

Itachi walks out of nowhere, giving Minako the most innocent look. "Hm?"

Minako gave him death glares as she comes out of the lake. When she was out, she flashes next to Itachi and hits him.

He dodges by jumping, but Minako living up to her name, she appeared at the top of him,and kicks him downward.

Minako appeared before Itachi crashes hard to the ground, cracking around him.

She crosses her arms, "Hmph."

"Do that again and I'll kill you."

"Mental note: Don't scare future wife, EVER." Itachi thought.-------

The two continued their journey, a few miles later. Minako arrived at her destination.

"Finally.. There it is!" She said.

Itachi's heart ached, as they go closer and closer to the village. He wouldn't see Minako for a while.

"Hey you okay?" Minako asked.

"There's nothing to worry about, ya know." She added.

"I know."

At the entrance of the small village, Itachi halted, making Minako turn around, eyebrows raised.

"You're not..." She trailed off.

Minako pouts, Itachi takes a few steps towards her, then pokes her forehead.

He smiles, "Maybe next time, Minako."

"See you soon.." She smiles sadly.

Itachi took a step back, while Minako continued on to the village.

She looks back, but Itachi already left. She notices something placed on the ground, where Itachi stood.

She teleports next to it, to see roses. A red and white one, she hesitates to pick them up.

As she let out a deep breath, and finally picked up the roses. She touched her forehead and looked back at the trail, that they went from.

She smiles. Then continues her way to the village, flowers at hand.
