Chapter 11

04:34, 4 October 2021

No, it couldn't be true. No matter how much they wanted her back, Savitar and Barry knew the woman in front of them was not their mother.

"The speedforce?" Barry questioned.

"Ah, not quite right," she smiled, "I'm Nora Allen, your mother's doppelgänger from another Earth."

Savitar nodded, dare not letting a word out.

"She's a speedster," Future Frost explained, "she was the one who brought me here."

"No one else was willing to do it," Nora explained, "your future selves are very strict with time travelling," she looked at Savitar and Barry who looked at each other, uncomfortable.

"So, how long do you think you'll be staying here?" Iris asked.

Nora turned to Iris in awe, "we're not sure."

Cisco laughed, "you're not sure?"

Nora smiled, "it's complicated."

"Time travel always is," Savitar mumbled.

"We've already risked the plot by coming here," Nora continued, "but we had no other choice."

The room was silent, the team was itching to find out what this 'incident' was and Nora and Frost were dying to tell them, but knew they couldn't.

"Are you a scientist, Mrs. Allen?" Harry asked.

"No, just a former mother."

"Former?" Caitlin asked, worried.

"My son, Bart, he died in a lightning storm."

"The same lightning storm that gave you your powers," Frost assured her.

Nora smiled softly, "so you keep saying."

"Was he - Bart - did he look like us?" Barry asked.

"Yes, he was. Just like you two," she walked toward them only for Savitar to get up.

He winced in pain from the earlier fight and Caitlin rushed over to him.

"Ahem, so you'll be staying for a while?" Iris asked.

Nora nodded.

"Well, we have an extra room at the apartment."

"And Future Frost can stay with me," Cisco added, "though when Gypsy's spending the night, you might not want to be." Frost rolled her eyes but smiled.

"So, Nora?" Iris asked.

"If Barry's alright with it..."

"Oh yeah, sure," Barry smiled, happy to spent time with her.

The team spent dinner at Joe's house who was as confused as he could get.

"Wait so how into the future are you two from?"

"A year and a half," Frost answered as she dug into some lasagna.

"That's not too bad," Iris said, "how much can change in a year?"

"Barry saved you from dying in six months," Cisco replied.

"Okay, fair, never mind."

"Ron, are you feeling well?" Barry asked as he found him being a bit too quiet.

"Hm? Yeah, thanks."

"Oh, do you want some water or something?" Caitlin asked.

"No, it's okay," he tried his best to smile.

"Alright, so Nora, how did you meet the team?" Iris questioned.

Nora looked at Frost who shrugged.

"I was attacked by blue - um, by someone. They attacked me as a citizen, I didn't have my suit on and  before I could do anything, Barry as the Flash came in and saved me. I was astonished by the super speed he possessed and followed him to Star Labs where I explained my situation. Now they're like family."

"Like? More like are family," Frost added.

"That's very heartwarming," Iris smiled.

Suddenly Caitlin broke out into a coughing fit. Before Savitar could help, Frost frantically went to get a glass of water and even helped her drink it.

"Thanks, I think I choked on the peas," Caitlin smiled.

"Are you okay? Do you feel like you have to go to the hospital?" Frost asked.

"Uh, no I'm fine, thanks."

After the dinner, Frost joined Cisco at his apartment.

"So, here's the guest room that you can stay in-"

"Cisco, I've already been here multiple times, from the future, remember?"

"Ah, yes. I remember. So you wanna watch a movie?"

"As long as it's not bad."

"Now you got me questioning all my movie choices."

Frost rolled her eyes, "just pick one."

While the movie was playing, Cisco just couldn't contain his inquires.

"So, how's the future?"

"Great."

"How's my relationship with Gypsy?"

"Great."

"Does Barry ever get faster?"

Frost smiled, "yes. Still not as fast as Savitar."

"And, what about you and Savitar?"

"Great."

Cisco sighed, "how does it feel to be separated from Caitlin?"

Frost looked down at her hands, "just watch the movie, Cisco."

"Frost, did you not like the split?"

"I loved it!" She shouted unable to hide her emotions, "that's the problem, splitting up from Caity felt amazing," her eyes teared up.

"Why? What happened?"

"I can't tell you."

"C'mon, I won't say anything. And you and Nora are here to change the future anyways."

Frost pursed her lips, "if I hadn't instigated the split, Caitlin and Iris wouldn't have died."

***********

Back at Caitlin's apartment, Savitar was standing out on the balcony in deep thought when Caitlin walked in with two coffee mugs.

Savitar turned his head and watched Caitlin's face, capturing every single beautiful feature. She looked mesmerizing as her hair flew back with the wind and her dark chocolate brown eyes twinkled in the moonlight.

"You're scared of what Future Frost and Nora said," she said softly.

He looked down and smiled with no real happiness, "how'd you know?"

"Well, Ron's not home which usually meant we'd be in bed, but here you are ..."

"I'm sorry, Cait."

Caitlin smiled, "I was only joking."

Savitar raised a brow, he set his cup on the wide railing and grabbed Caitlin by the waist in a quick, elegant motion.

"Were you really?" He raised the corner of his lip, showing off his signature smirk.

Caitlin rolled her eyes and brought her lips to his, smiling in Savitar's touch.

She pulled back but stayed in his arms, "how do you feel about Nora and everything?"

"How do you feel about Frost?"

Caitlin gave him a knowing look, "I think it's going to take some getting used to and Frost is cool with it, so," she shrugged.

"I'm not so worried about Nora as I am with you."

"You're ridiculous."

"I swear I won't let anything happen to you," Savitar promised.

"Great, so we have nothing to worry about."

Savitar smiled, his worries washing away. He picked Caitlin up, bridal style, and brought her to bed.

No matter how much they try to ignore it though, a threat was upon them and its presence was in the air.

***********

It was  2:30 am when a notification from Caitlin's phone woke her up. She found herself wrapped in Savitar's muscular arms and being the heavy sleeper he was, she was sure it'd be impossible to get her phone.

She still tried though, but as soon as she got up, Savitar woke up, like he couldn't sleep without her by his side and it was true, he couldn't.

"What time is it?" He groaned and stretched, showing off his picture perfect abs. Caitlin smiled, no matter how many times she wakes up next to his shirtless body, she'd never get tired of it.

She put a shirt on and yawned, "I got a notification from," she checked her phone, "Ron?"

"What? He's still not home?" Savitar asked, still sleepy.

"I don't know, it just says to call him." She called Ron's number and he picked up, breathing heavily into the phone, "Ron? What's wrong? Where are you?"

"Caitlin, I was just going to get a cup of coffee, I swear I was awake the entire time, I didn't know, I didn't-" He rambled on.

"Woah, Ron, slow down, where are you?"

"I-I'm at Star Labs."

"What happened?"

"Matt, he escaped."

Double update because I feel bad for not updating last week.

How do you guys like the story so far?

QOTC: Do you still watch The Flash? My Answer: I stopped watching after the bloodwork storyline in season 6 and even that was a bit to hard to watch. I do however keep in check with the show because even though the storylines suck, I'm just too attached to the characters. I'll be honest, I'm disappointed in the writers and how inconsistent they are with the characters.

For example, y'all remember in season 5 when they made Frost a greek goddess, Khoine, I loved that storyline, but now Frost is just some side character? And Caitlin barely gets any lines!

Anyways, thanks for coming to my TED talk, lol.
