Chapter 1

Caitlin stirred in her sleep and turned around, only to find the other side of her bed completely empty. She got up, curious and slipped into a robe. 

The smell of something burning made her rush into the kitchen but she soon relaxed when she saw Savitar rotating his hands in opposite directions at super speed, trying to calm down a fire he created. 

Savitar glanced at Caitlin and shrugged, "tried to make breakfast." 

Caitlin smiled, walked over to him, and gave Savitar a soft kiss, "you really are the total opposite of Barry." 

If anyone else had said that, Savitar would have burned in anger, but he was glad Caitlin could be comfortable around him. He knew she only said it for fun. 

He pulled her closer to him and kissed her good morning, "you know you like it better this way."

Caitlin smiled and shook her head slightly. She went to throw out the burnt pan, but Savitar held her wrist softly to stop her. 

"Don't worry about that, I got it." 

"You spoil me." 

"Wouldn't have it any other way," he closed his eyes to kiss her but on the other end, Savitar was met with an icy touch. He opened his eyes only to find himself frozen by the ice queen herself. 

He vibrated to get himself warm, "what the hell Frost?" 

"Don't raise your voice at me," Frost's voice boomed through the kitchen. It was so powerful, even Savitar stepped back. "That would've been your seventh kiss today and we haven't even had breakfast!" 

Savitar smirked, "don't act like you don't like it." 

"Caity and I may be in the same body but we are not the same person. I'm fine with you two being together, but keep the touching to a minimum." 

"And if I don't?" 

"I know we dropped the 'Killer' from Killer Frost, but all it would take," she stepped closer to him, an icicle forming in her hand, "is one stab through the heart." 

Savitar grinned, he knew she'd never do it but he backed off anyways, "okay, sure, you got my word." 

He sped off and came back to find Caitlin. She smiled, "ou, Big Belly Burger!"

They finished eating, then ran to Star Labs where they found Harry with Cisco, Iris, and Barry.

"Hey guys!" Caitlin ran up to hug everyone.

It was the first time she had seen Iris and Barry since they left for their honeymoon two months ago and it had been a little over a year since she had seen Harry. 

"Iris, you're glowing!" Caitlin praised her friend. 

Iris pushed her hair back, "it's the Bora Bora sun!" 

"I hope there wasn't too much trouble," Barry said, feeling guilty of not being there for his city. 

"Honestly, I feel like there was less trouble," Savitar assured him. 

"It's true," Cisco added, "crime rates had decreased by 22 percent since you were last here." 

"What's that supposed to mean? Are you guys saying that I attract the bad guys or something?" 

Savitar shrugged, "you said it." 

"I'm sorry, I don't think we've been formally introduced," Harry said. 

Caitlin spoke up, "Harry, this is Savitar, my boyfriend." 

Savitar shook Harry's hand, a bit nervous. He knew how much Caitlin and everyone in the team respected Harry and he wanted to give a good impression. 

Harry looked at him in deep thought, "didn't you try to kill Iris?" 

"That was a long time ago," Iris said, "he's-I mean, we've all grown from that." 

Savitar gave her an appreciative smile. 

"How are you even ... alive?" Harry asked. 

"God, you don't have any filters, do you?" Cisco asked.

"It's not my fault no one ever updates me on whatever's going on." 

"Sorry," Caitlin smiled, "maybe we can talk about over coffee?" 

The corner of Harry's lips lifted up ever so slightly, "sure." 

"Well, you're gonna have to reschedule, there's an attack at CCPD," Cisco pointed to his computers. 

"No need to reschedule, don't think it'll take long. Right Barry?" Savitar asked. 

Barry smiled, "can't wait to get back out there." 

"I'm coming too, just in case," Frost said. 

The speedsters and Frost arrived at the police department, only to find the officers in some sort of trance. 

"Joe?" Barry found Joe on his knees, crying. Before he could talk to his father-in-law, a voice distracted them. 

They looked around to find the source of the voice, but there was no one around. 

Barry and Savitar quickly put everyone outside of CCPD for their safety. 

"Ah, finally the real Flash is back." 

Savitar gritted his teeth, "show yourself, coward!" 

"Guys, I'm not seeing any heat signatures," Cisco informed them over the telecoms. 

The three looked at each other, confused. 

Suddenly Barry flew across the room as a purple blast swallowed him. 

"Barry!" Savitar yelled and went to follow him, but Barry was somewhere else. He seemed to not hear Savitar or see him.

Frost, on the other hand, traced the blast to find a man in a black mask. 

"You got what you wished for, I'm here." 

"What did you do to them?" Savitar asked, his anger burning up. 

"The name's Hybrid," he held on to a wolf-like pendant that hung around his neck. 

"Great, another self-named meta," Cisco sighed. 

"That's not what I asked for," Savitar lowered his voice. 

"Oh, don't worry," Hybrid waved his hand dismissively, "I just gave them a little dream. More of a nightmare, if I do say so myself."

Savitar ran toward Hybrid and punched him at super speed. The meta fell down, but it only lasted a few seconds. 

The Hybrid rubbed his cheek and got up, laughing, "do you know why they call me the hybrid?"

"No one calls you that," Frost rolled her eyes and went to stab him with an icicle but before she could, he looked her in the eyes and smiled. 

"You have a lot of baggage, don't you, Caitlin Snow?" Frost's eyes widened and turned purple as she held her head in pain.

"Stop!" Savitar was at Caitlin's side within seconds.

"They call me Hybrid," he continued, "not only can I see your greatest fears,"I can make them come alive." Hybrid lifted his arms and a soft purple light emitted from them. 

Before Savitar could attack, CCPD altered. The walls closed in and the desk that sat in the front changed into a couch. 

It was Joe's house. He looked around and found the team laughing and drinking around the dinning table. 

As soon as he stepped foot into the room, everyone faced him in a mix of anger and shock. 

"What're you doing here?" Barry stood up, brows furrowed. 

"I-what?" Savitar stepped back.

Instantaneously, everyone disappeared. It was just him and Caitlin. 

Caitlin eyes were watery and red, like she had been crying herself to sleep for the past year. 

"Cait?" Savitar whispered. 

"Get out," she said in a stern voice. 

"What happened?"

"Get out!" She yelled, her face filled with disgust. "I don't ever want to see your face again," she pushed his chest and he stumbled back only to be face-to-face with the Hybrid. 

"I-I know what your doing. Your visions won't work on me," Savitar stuttered. 

Hybrid laughed, "they're not visions. This is the future. What? You thought just because you saved a couple of people, everyone would forgive you?"

"I'm not listening to you." 

"The truth is, in their eyes, you will always be a monster. One little mistake, that's all it takes for them to abandon you. To shun you. They did it before. Who's to say they won't do it again?" 

Savitar held on to his ears as Hybrid's voice infected his mind. He didn't know what was real and what wasn't anymore. 

He couldn't hear through the telecoms, he couldn't even hear Barry. 

"Stop!" He yelled, unable to bear the pain. 

It hurt more than any punch he could throw. Savitar heard whispers in his head, disappointment from the people he loved.

"Why don't you stop holding yourself back? I'm just trying to help. You're stronger than you realize. You don't even need them." 

"I said stop!" Savitar grabbed Hybrid by the neck and slammed him against Joe's house, only now the house had transformed into his childhood home. 

Savitar realized this and loosened his grip from Hybrid's neck. He looked around the dull, lifeless house.

"Everyone has always taken from you. Reverse Flash, Zoom, when have you ever had anything for yourself?"

"I have Caitlin," he said breathless, "I have the team." 

"You really think she's going to stay forever? Like your mom did, like your dad?" 

"That's enough," Savitar tightened his hold as Hybrid's neck turned red. 

"Do it," Hybrid choked, "show me what you're capable of."

Savitar didn't think twice. 

He vibrated his hand and put it through Hybrid's chest. 

Everything around him crashed and he looked on as Hybrid's body disintegrated, leaving behind ashes.
