Akina's POV
If there was one thing I was scared of..
it was heights.
Now, my summons were birds so to a certain extent I was completely fine with them.
But, if you add a bird traveling at a speed of 49 mph, stuff tends to change drastically.
Add a pinch of screaming.
Another pinch of soiling my pants.
And lastly, vivid flashbacks of my first death.
That was me in a complete nutshell.
I think I passed out for a while.
After an 8 hour trip, I stumbled off Hachiko's back, vomiting violently on the side of a cactus.
We'd landed in the middle of the afternoon, the hot, blistering sun weighing down on me and it was not good for my already sick health and mental fatigue.
My stomach lurched once more, but nothing escaped other than bile and I felt horrible.
It didn't help the fact that my stomach was clearly trying to kill me.
The cramps were back and now I felt like a punching bag.
Groaning in pain, I curled up into a ball and drank water I'd packed for the journey.
"Ha-Hachiko... I'll need you a-again." I weakly muttered out and she became small once more.
"Hai, Uchiha sama. I'll be with you at all times." She climbed into the bag lying against my body.
"I can't move." Tears pricked my eyes at the feeling and I bit my lip harshly.
"Need help?" I tensed at the voice and threw a kunai from the sleeves of my cloak.
"Ara, you don't remember me, Kira?" The man chuckled, however it didn't seem to be threatening.
In fact, I detected happiness in it.
"Who are you?" I was a mess lying on the ground, a pool of vomit lying behind me, outfit and hair incredibly disheveled and a weak expression on my face.
"Hm, lets see. I was a spy for Danzo, not exactly a part of ROOT. I had been ordered to take out two genin and a Jounin to steal their sharingan. I told you about my mission and in return, you spared me and took me to Amegakure."
"Wait... Yamamoto Ken?"
He smiled and held out a hand for me to grab.
"That's me."
Accepting his help, I stood up wincing.
"I was wearing a mask that day. How'd you know it was me?" I asked suspiciously.
"I'm a sensor. By the way, I left Amegakure."
"Why?"
He shrugged. "Everyone was bat shit crazy over there. They'd worship some Kami and Angel. Along with that, it hardly stopped raining. I'm better off in Sunagakure."
"I'm an enemy of your village if you haven't noticed it yet." I said dryly.
His eyes traveled over my Akatsuki cloak.
"Huh, the group who kidnapped Kazekage sama."
"That's me."
"You don't seem proud."
"Look buddy, I've had a long day. Any other day which doesn't end with Y, I'd be showing off on how I belong with a group of criminals."
He frowned and began muttering something under his breath.
"Wait- but all days end with Y!"
Naruto, I think I found your rival in terms of intelligence.
"Why are you helping me?" I changed the topic.
He began walking ahead, giving me a signal to follow him.
"Well, you did spare my life and as a plus point, you killed Danzo. I think I owe you and so I'll help you with whatever I can do as long as its within my capability."
"Even if it includes betraying Gaara?"
He gulped harshly and spoke lowly.
"I'm a man of my word, Kira."
I smiled mirthlessly.
"A Haruno Sakura, kunoichi from Konoha is lying in a mortuary. I need her body."
"You came here... just for a body?" He blinked before shaking his head.
"Weird, but okay?" He nodded once before stopping me.
"Kira... there are sensors in Sunagakure as well. Most of them are guards and they can detect foreign chakra entering. Are you in the Bingo Book?"
"I think my rank has increased to an A after killing Sarutobi Asuma."
He took out the book, eyes widening and he mouthed my name.
Akina Senju Uchiha
"Its an S. Konoha says they want you alive only."
I shook my head, frowning.
"It shouldn't be an S."
"I think since you're affiliated with the Akatsuki, they've assumed you to be stronger now and bumped up your rank."
No, that's not it.
They saw my eyes and probably told Jiraiya and Tsunade, keeping it a secret for now.
That's why....
I'm an S.
"Makes sense."
He nodded and pointed at the top.
"The sensors are mostly deployed at the entrance. If you drop down in the middle of the Sunagakure hospital and remove your cloak making way to the mortuary on the fifth floor, you can store her body in a scroll and get back on your summon to make a run for it."
"Will no one at the hospital notice?"
He scoffed. "They're pretty busy looking after the living patients. Not the dead ones."
"Touche."
"Now, can we address the horrible smell in here?"
"I vomited, soiled myself and am on my period."
"Oh dear Kami... change of plans." He pointed at me, a scowl on his face.
"You need a better fashion sense and a change of clothes!"
"My fashion sense?"
"Okay, so I sneak in the hospital and you immediately bring me to your fucking house so that you can do a fucking makeover?!" I screeched.
"Yikes! Stop moving. Do you have hair or a rat's nest because honestly, I think at this point its one and the same." He tugged at the tangle in my hair and I winced.
"Ow! Ken- OUCH WHAT THE FUCK BOI?!"
"Aaaand we're done!"
He shot me a beaming smile, and I looked at myself in the vanity.
Each village has their own set of clothes and makeup style. I had slight gold highlights on my skin to match the other women.
"Kira, you aren't one for stealth and information gathering are you?"
"No."
"That explains your tacky outfit. With clothes like that, everyone would be suspicious. Now you'll be able to blend in."
"... thanks I guess."
He hummed. "After this, we're even."
"Yeah, but only if you don't tell anyone that I came here."
"Kira, its not my place to ask but why did you flee?"
I remained silent for a while.
"You're right, it isn't your place to ask."
I have three reasons, Ken and you're never finding out any of them.
He was unaffected by my rudeness.
"I won't tell anyone you're gay if that helps." I said offhandedly as he blinked before chuckling.
"That obvious, huh?"
I gave him a small smile. "Some day... I want to come to your wedding and see him for myself."
"Someday."
But we both knew, that someday was a dangerous word and it barely comes true.
"Sayonara, Ken. Keep your distance from me and my organization, Akatsuki. I won't be as kind and forgiving as then."
"Sayonara, Kira."
Entering the hospital, I shot the receptionist a smile.
"Where's the lift?"
She yawned sleepily. "Down the hall to the left."
Keeping me head down, I walked at a brisk pace.
Ken was right. No one really noticed me and I had blended in quite well, no one shooting me an odd look twice.
I adjusted the bag I was carrying and made sure Hachiko was comfortable.
I pressed the button for fifth floor and waited as pleasant tunes began playing.
The lift opened to a dark long corridor with dim lights on either side.
It looks like a scene out of a horror movie.
Following the instructions Ken told me, I walked straight through the hall, thousands of storage boxes- much like the ones I saw when I sold Asuma- were lined up against the wall, each harboring a name.
My footsteps were echoing in the silent atmosphere and I made sure to walk softly.
The door at the end of the hall slightly creaked with pressure once I opened it and my eyes were greeted to the view of dead bodies undergoing a check up to make sure nothing was wrong, probably being undergone by the coroner.
He or she wasn't there and I sighed in relief as a cold blast of air hit me, relieving me of the hot, dry air.
There wasn't any air conditioner around.
This may have been the highest floor in the hospital, however they'd designed the room in such a way that it remained cold, splashing water to induce a cool effect.
The fans were on at the maximum speed and I walked past the bodies one by one, lifting the covers up.
There you are.
I glanced down at Sakura's peaceful face, unmarked with any weapons, her skin smooth and fair.
Her pink hair was spread in a halo around her and she looked contempt.
But no matter what, I knew I had to bring her back.
For myself and others.
I looked down at her pale lifeless body, as sadness overwhelmed me and I clenched my hands tightly, getting ready to grab my scroll.
I don't want to bring you back into this cruel world though.
"Don't worry, Sakura. Soon, you'll be back here with us and you can take your revenge."
"Akina?"
I turned around to face him and blinked.
"Well.. if it isn't my dear panda kun. How are you, Gaara?"
His face was as beautiful as I remembered it to be, red, messy hair and teal colored eyes. His dark circles somehow made him look much better and he was standing proudly in his Kazekage outfit, his posture tall and straight.
"Better than the last time your organization visited me." He muttered and the sand floated in front of him, ready to attack or defend when required.
I chuckled. "I didn't do anything since I knew Chiyo would bring you back alive."
He slightly tilted his head to the side.
"I do not know why Shukaku was so... peaceful around you. He wanted to speak to you, however we couldn't."
I frowned. "Hm, I remember something like that, yeah. Look Gaara, lets make a compromise."
He raised an eyebrow as if to say really?
"You let me take Sakura's body and disappear. I will warn you if the Akatsuki decides to attack Konoha or Suna any which ways. I promise."
It was a good deal for a Kage.
Any Kage would've taken the deal. He had his own village to look after.
However, Gaara wasn't a normal Kage and I smiled at his answer.
"Well then, I'm proud Naruto has such a good friend." I answered and took a stance.
He narrowed his eyes and the door behind him opened to show a personnel of shinobi guards as well as Temari and Kankuro.
Their eyes first widened, and then they gasped as they saw me.
"Well, Temari and Kankuro, I met you guys only once during the Chunin exams. Nice to see you again." I clicked my tongue in annoyance.
They all readied their weapons and even I knew I wouldn't be able to take all of them on.
I could've stood a chance if Gaara wasn't there.
And then, just when things couldn't get worse, Team 8 appeared breathlessly.
Hinata let out a shaky breath and muttered a weak 'I told you so' before gasping for air.
You don't always need a plan. Sometimes, you just need to breathe, trust, let go and see what happens.
I took in a deep breath and channeled chakra into my eyes.
"I can't believe you'd actually show your face in here after what you've done." Temari scoffed.
"Please stop this, Akina san. I can still see the light in your eyes. Join us." He raised his hand.
If only I could, but I'm way too far in this now.
I smiled. "True love is an act of self sacrifice."
His eyes furrowed in confusion and his sand suddenly formed a dome as I ran at him.
"Let's dance, hm?"
A giggle echoed in my mind.
Yume...
I need you.
Is it me?
Or is it you?
For now, I don't know what to do.
Sasuke..

Is this really okay?
Hi~
So I've been listening to a few anime op and forgot all about Silhouette until I saw it in my Sound Cloud playlist.
And every single time I listen to that damn song..
I imagine more and more ways to tortu- to give her a good life!
Totally what I meant, yup!
Anyways, regarding the updates..
As you all know, I am currently in the last year of high school (12th Grade) at the moment.
In India, we have these exams called 'Board Examinations' and I like need to get at least a 94% on it. Not need, more like want, actually.
In December, all my practical exams start and in January I have to write this nation wide test for getting into a school of my choice- except the competition here is way too much!
Passing the first round is insanely hard and the second one- even more so.
Then in February, I have to write the Board Exams and holy mother of God... the damn pressure is killing me.
Then, I have to make sure I get into a good college, preferably near where I live.
As you can see, my life is going to be insane for the next six months at least.
And I am assuring each and every one of you that I will not abandon this story.
I will continue to update it however, it won't be regular and the length of the chapters will be reduced from around 3-4 K words to about 1-2 K words.
As the months go by, I might even put this story on hold and while my heart breaks from the inside for doing this... I might really need to.
I probably won't do that though ^
Writing helps me relieve my stress lol.
Mmm anyways that's it!
Thanks for reading this book- I love each and every one of you!
To the silent readers, I appreciate each and every one of you too. 💜
Um, the poll has ended and towards the end (I have no idea who-) someone made Deidara's counts go up drastically by creating multiple new accounts and voting for Dei LOL.
(I'm totally assuming that- I am not sure...)
It was a really, really close tie.
I've removed the poll now...
I'm looking at you.
I suspect you.
You know who you are.
Or maybe I don't.
I mean, it could be anyone XD
I appreciate the enthusiasm though and... for now,
I want 45 votes and 450 views so I can update the next chapter.
I really underestimated you guys the previous time I made a condition like this..
I'm out~
