Chapter 15 

Not Without Me 

"Alana, no you are not coming.” He said looking at me pleadingly.

“Yes, I am. You have disappeared to many times without me. And you shall not do it again.” I said adamantly. I walked from the pillar to the circle and stood behind Frodo.

“You cannot come.” He said, he looked truly worried.

“A mere woman cannot possibly go into the depths of Mordor.” Boromir said. I looked at him.

“You can come off your high-horse because I am a good fighter, and I could disarm you any time.” I said.

“A mere woman? You deceive us.” Boromir said.

“I have seen her fight, and I have seen you fight. She is extremely capable of disarming and quickly killing you. Before you even have the chance to blink.” Legolas said. I smiled. Boromir was silenced, and I turned to Aragorn.

“You know I can do as much as you come. Why do you not have faith in me?” I asked.

“Alana, I do, I- Gandalf, tell her she cannot go.” He said looking towards Gandalf. Gandalf smirked and looked at him not saying a word. I grinned in victory. He shook his head sadly. He continued looking at Frodo, “You have my sword.”

“And you have my bow.” Legolas said.

“And my ax.” Gimli added. 

“You carry the fates of us all, little one. If this is indeed the will of the council then Gondor will see it done.” Boromir said.

Sam yelped from the bushes where he had hidden, and ran up onto the circle. 

“Frodo’s not going anywhere without me.” He said stubbornly. 

“It is hardly possible to separate you, even when he is summoned to a secret Council and you are not. In fact I’m surprised to see that Mirima isn’t here by your side, Alana.” He said. Mirima jumped out from the bushes, he whipped his head around. 

“Surprise, Master Elrond, I’m here too. I won’t be coming though. I just wanted to know ” She said coming from the bushes to stand beside me.

“We’re coming too!” Pippin cried.

“You’ll have to send us home tied up in a sack to stop us.” Merry added.

“Ten companions. So be it. You shall be the Fellowship of the Ring.” Elrond said looking pleased.

“Great! Where are we going?” Pippin asked. I rolled my eyes and Mirima tried to hide her chuckling.
