Chapter 9

The next night, I was lying in bed snuggled up with the sheets.  The moon peeked through the window, as it shined in my face like always.  The breeze rushed though my window, chilling my room from top to bottom.  I moaned awake as I sat up like I always did.  I heard a  hanger placed on the closet that was in the room, as I looked over, seeing Ruki standing there, hanging a little string onto the hanger. "Morning Skylar, still feeling well enough for school?" he asked, as I nodded.  "Yep. I'm feeling better than ever" I said, as I ripped off the covers and sat on the window side of the bed.  Ruki sighed, as he walked over to sit by me.  He pulled back my hair, as he sniffed my neck. I sat there, letting him do what he was doing.  My eyes widdened as I felt something wet against my neck, not knowing what it was.  I heard a noise, almost like a grunt as he pulled back. "Get changed into that uniform.  Breakfast is almost ready" he said, then he was gone before I could reply.   I felt my neck as I looked at my hand, seeing what looked like to be saliva onto it.  I got confused as the thought of him licking my neck like that.  "Was he going to take blood?" I thought to myself, as I whipped off the rest of the saliva from my neck.

I walked over as I took pieces of the uniform off the hook.  I put my shirt and pants on, then the blaser went over the whole thing. Finally, I put the bow on, as I looked in the mirror to adjust it in it's place. I sighed, as I took a step back to look at the whole thing, not quite sure that I had it on just right. I tried fixing the bow as it got crooked again.  At that point I sighed, as I looked in the mirror at it.  "How do you do this?" I asked myself, as a knock came on the door. "Skylar, do you need help with the uniform?" Ruki asked, as I sighed. "Yeah, I can't figure out how to put the bow on" I said, as he sighed and came into the room. "Alright, let's see here" he said, as he shut the door, and walked up towards me.  He put his book on the desk, as he sighed again.  "Ok first, you need to button the shirt more" he said, as he put the last couple of buttons into the loops.  He pulled the collar out a bit as he spoke. "Is that too tight?" he asked, as he looked at me.  I shook my head as he continued.  "Alright" he said as he took the bow off the desk.  "Ok, see how this end has this metal clip thingy?" he asked, as I cocked my head. It wasn't like Ruki to call stuff a thingy.  "Yeah" I said, as he nodded. He swung me around so I faced the mirror.  He draped the bow  around my neck, as he wrapped his arms, so he had more room.  "Ok, so you put the string through like this" he said, as he put the string through the hoops behind the bow.  There was two metal hoops.  The string went under the first one and over the second.  He put the string through the second and over the first, as he pulled it. "That too tight?" he asked as I shook my head. "No, it's fine" I said, as he nodded. "Alright, I'm glad it's comfortable" he said, as he continued. "Then you take the leftover string, and tuck it under the colar like that, and under the string over here, so it looks neater" he said, as he did it for me.  He pulled away as I looked into the mirror, seeing the uniform looking pefectly in place. "Thank you for your help" I said, as he nodded. "Anytime. Now come grab some breakfast" he said, as we walked out of the bedroom and into the dining room.

The dining room was a little noisy, with the rest of the Mukami brothers fighting over somethijng.  "Oh come on Yuma.  I was just about to have one more" Kou said, as we walked into the room.  Kou was trying to get a basket from Yuma, which he held high over his head. "You already had half of them, and poor little Skylar didn't even eat yet. It's her first day, do you want her passing out of hunger?"  he asked, as Kou huffed. "Your right, Skylar should have it" he said with a sigh.  Ruki sighed too, as he walked towards the kitchen. "Calm down, I made more" he said, as he walked into the kitchen. Yuma turned to me as he sighed. "Well, you going to join us and eat up, or stand there watching?" he asked, as I sighed. "Oh right, sorry" I said, as I went to sit at the table.  I sat next to Kou as Yuma put the roll on my plate. "Its' good for you. Nice and light so you can adjust it easily" he said, as I bit into the bread.  "Thanks" I said, as I started to eat slowly.  Taking bites at a time, I picked at the bread, slowley eating it so I didn't feel sick. I took a sip of my drink, that ended up beign water.  Everyone at this moment was eating in silence. Kou turned to me as he smiled. "How's it holding up for you?" he asked, as I nodded. "It's holding up just fine" I said, as he nodded.  "That's good. I'm glad your not going to be sick on us" he said, as he cracked a smile. I bit into the bread agan, then picked up my spoon to take a sip of the soup.  I started to eat as I put my spoon down, and spoke to Ruki. "I want to thank you, all of you for everything" I said feeling a little shy about it. But I haven't properly thanked them yet.

Ruki stirred his spoon in his soup as he spoke.  "Like I told you before, you don't have to thank us for it."  I turned to him as I spoke. "But, if it wasn't for you going though that day, I would be dead by now" I said, as he eyed me.  His blue eyes seemed to glow with frustration, which made me gulp silently.  "You don't need to thank us. We're just satisfying ourselves" he said, as I nodded, not saying anything. I looked back at my bowl as I started to talke a little of the soup. I didn't get what he meant by "satisfying ourselves." I wanted to question it, but he seemed frustraired at this point.  Silence entered the room as the clicking dishes of plates, entered the room.  I continued to slowly eat, as I finished my supper. When I was done, I picked up my dishes as I silently walked over to the sink in the kitchen.  I put the dishes in the sink as I reached for the sponge, but Ruki's voice stopped me in the process. "We'll clean them after school. There's not enough time now" he said, as I nodded. "Oh, ok" I said, as I stopped myself from saying sorry again.  I turned to Ruki, seeing all of the brother's watching me. "What?" I asked, as Ruki smiled. "Ready?" he asked, as I nodded. "Yep" I said, as we left for school.

I was walking halls of school, seeing the big building and all the students in it.  I was quiet, as I looked up and down the hall, following the Mukami's ever since we left the house. We walked to a wooden door with a glass window, that I couldn't see in the class. "Alright, we'll find you later. This is your first class of the day.  Which I think Yui takes this class as well" he said, as I nodded. "Ok" I said, trying not to thank them again.  Ruki cracked a smile as he started to walk off with Yuma.  Kou looked at me as  he spoke. "And if you need anything, come find us" he said with a smile.  I smiled back as I nodded. "Alright, I will" I said, as I went to turn the handle.  I watched the Mukami's as they disappeared in the hallway. I huffed to get any of the stress from me, as I turned the handle, and went into my class.  I walked in seeing a teachers desk, and student desks in rows in front of it.  I started to walk in slowly as I door shut on it's own, but didn't lock.  I looked back in fear, as I heard a familiar voice. "Oh, Skylar's in the class with us" Yui said, as I turned around to find her sitting at a desk.  Kanato was in front of her, looking at his teddy bear, and Ayato was in the opposite side of the room, looking like he was sleeping.  I silently walked past Kanato to sit next to Yui.  I looked around, not seeing a teacher anywhere. "There's no teachers in night class?" I asked her as she shook her head.  She went to speak but Kanato spoke before her. "There's no teachers.  They all went home at this point.  It's just you two and us vampires at night class" he said, as I nodded.  Ayato shot his head right up as he looked over.  He got up from his seat as he went to Yui and grabbed her hand. "Let's go Pancake.  I want takoyaki" he said, as he pulled Yui out of her seat. "But we're in class Ayato" she said, but Ayato didn't care.  He just continued to pull Yui out of the room, and shut the door behind them.  At this moment, it was just Kanato and I in the room.

Kanato rotated his bear to make it look at him.  "Say Teddy. We're alone with Skylar, aren't we?" he said, a I looked at him.  He didn't look at me, but I got that feeling that I should go find a Mukami.  Kanato got up as he walked over to the door, with his bear as he talked to it.  "Teddy, is this the only exit to this room?" he asked the bear, as he locked the door.  My eyes widened as he turned around and started to walk towards me.  I got up and started to back up from him.  "Say, Skylar. How are you feeling tonight?" he said, as he came closer.  He stopped in his place as he turned towards the chair next to him. "Teddy, why don't you have a seat.  You can watch me have a drink" he said to the bear, as he turned towards me.  I turned and ran, but something grabbed my arm.  "Skylar, don't you run on me now.  I've been thirsty for blood, and I couldn't have Yui's. So can I have a drink?" he asked, as he pulled on my wrist, and we sat on the floor next to our desks. Kanato wrapped an  arm around my arms and body, as he held me closer to him.  I struggled as I tried to escape, but the more that I did, the tighter his grip went.  He pushed my hair away from my neck as he placed his forehead on my neck. "Your really warm.  Your blood must be at the right temperature tonight" he said, as my eyes widened.

I went to get off of him, but he was a lot stronger than I was.  I started to panic as I closed my eyes. I gulped as I screamed. "RUKI!" I screamed but he covered my mouth, as he brushed my cheek with his thumb. "Why does those Mukami's need to be here.  They always have your blood.  I'm very thirsty, and Ayato took Yui so, your the only one I can feed from" he said,as something wet brushed against the back of my shoulder.  I struggled some more, as I managed to break from him. I got up as I ran to the back, as he slammed me against the wall. "Now Skylar. Didn't I tell you not to run from me?" he asked, as he pinned my arms against the wall.  I looked at him, as I spoke. "Kanato, please don't" I said, as he smiled.  "But Skylar, I'm thirsty" he said, as he licked my neck again.  I heard an inhale as he bit down, making me flinch.  I sat there, trying to keep myself calm, not knowing what to do.  I opened my eyes, as Kanato continued to feed off me.  I felt my body become weaker, as I started to slouch. Kanato let go of me, as I fell to the floor, my back and head resting on the wall.  I took deep breaths quickly, as I felt the blood drip from my neck.  I looked up at him weakly, as he cracked a smile. "That's it.  That's how slaves are supposed to be treated. Right Skylar dear" he asked, in a soft voice.  I tried to keep awake as another shadow casted over me.  I looked over to find Shu leaning up against the desk behind Kanato. 

"What are you doing?" he asked, in a sheepishly tone.  He had his eyes shut and his headphones in as always.  Kanato looked at Shu as he sighed. "Shu, come taste her.  Slave blood is better than a regular human" Kanato said as he looked back at me. "And she's the only one that contains this. Right Skylar?" he asked in his playful tone.  Shu peeked his eyes open as he sighed. "If I must. Make room please" he said, as Kanato moved and Shu took his place.  I kept taking deep breaths as I spoke, having a tear down my cheek. "Please, no" I said, hoping he would stop and the two of them go away.  Shu picked up my hand as he put it to where my knuckles were sticking out. "Please" I said weakly, as Shu licked it.  I went to say something but Shu huffed. "She's not going to stay quiet for me" he said, as Kanato nodded. "Hang on" he said, as he put his bear down and came up next to me. He cupped his hand and placed over my mouth, so I couldn't scream.  He turned towards Shu as he spoke. "Better?" he asked, as Shu nodded.  "Ok let's have a taste" Shu said, as he bit into my finger, taking out some blood.  I flinched as I shut my eyes in pain.  I screamed but nothing came out.  At this point, I started to feel weak to the point where I was going to pass out. "That was good" Shu said, as he got up.  Kanato got off of me, as I collapsed to the floor, trying to stay awake.  "Alright, I guess we'll take her home.  But we got to hurry, before a Mukami finds out" Shu said, as he disappeared, leaving me with Kanato.  Kanato swung Teddy so it sat on his shoulders.  He picked me up as he cradled me in his arms. "Alright, let's go to your new home Skylar" he said, as I shut my eyes, not knowing what would happen, or where we were going.
