Chapter 3

02:12, 21 May 2018

I opened my eyes seeing this round dome around me, almost like another cell, but this was better.  A clear dome that looked almost like a heavenly sky.  The top curved into a half circle, with lines down it to guied it. The whole thing ended at a stained glass band at the top of the dome.  It circled at a good speed, but not fast enough to get me to pass out again.  I was lying on the ground as I moaned awake more, looking at the top of the dome.  My head didn' t hurt which I found strange. It was like I was never hurt at all, and I had strength again, even though I didn't take a bag of blood.  I moaned awake, as I sat up and finally stood.  "Where am I?" I thought to myself as I heard the ticking of a clock and the gental movement of stone, even though there wasn't any stone at all.  "Eve" a deep voice spoke, catching my attenion.  It didn't sound like one of the Mukami's, but I knew it was a man's voice.  "A guard?" I said, as the dome went silent, except for the ticking.  I started to walk around, hearing my feet silently clicking within every step, even though I didn't have any shoes on.  "Eve. A new Eve" the voice said again, like it was completley ignoring the fact that I was there.  I got even more confused as I yelled at it. "My name's not Eve.  It's Skylar!" I yelled as the ticking grew louder.  I walked forward as I looked around the dome. All of a sudden, I heard something crystalizing behind me.  I turned around in shock as I gasped. I saw something simmulatrto water droplets forming behind me, as a giant tree grew in it's spot, letting the branches stretch out in place of the water droplet.  Finally, the tree started to grow little leaves on it, like in the middle of spring.  "How did that tree get here?" I asked myself as I took a step back.

I kept pacing back as I looked around the area. "Where did the Mukami's go?" I asked myself, as I looked around.  I kept turning in circles as I stayed in the same spot.  No one except me and this tree was in there.  I  didn't even here the booming voice anymore, just the ticking of the clock as the top spun around in a slow circle.  I looked back at the tree as I walked up to it.  "Huh, this tree is weird. I wonder what tree it is" I said to myself as the voice spoke again. "Awaken, Eve" it said, as I turned around in gasped.  I didn't know someone was with me, but I didn't see anything.  The dome started to brighten as I heard the voice again. "Eve" it said as everything went dark, and I fell back asleep.

I jolted awake with a gasp for air, as I sat up in a sitting position.  I took a deep breath as I tried to settle down from what was happening. "What was that? Why did it keep saying Eve?" I thought to myself as I snapped into reality.  I was sitting on a couch in a living room of a mantion. I looked around the room seeing a fireplace, another couch and a few chairs. A coffee table sat in front of me with some type of center piece on it.  I stood up to look out the window, seeing a back yard, with a nice sunset in the back of it, glowing a pinkish orange glow onto everything.  I looked behind me as I saw a staircase that went to a second floor. The shadow of the window casted over them, giving a creepy effect to them.  I nodded to myself in shock. "Vampires.  Their defantly vampires" I said to myself, as I realized that I didn't hear the rattling of my chains. I fell on the back of the couch as I noticed that the chains were gone. I looked over my wrists and ankles seeing nothing but red cuts all over them.  Little stains of blood dripped from them, as I sait there, watching the blood trinkle down my arms. I put my arms up to look at them better as I sighed.  "Huh, I'm still bleeding" I said, as I put down my arms. "Do you want me to take care of that for you?" a voice asked, as I jolted in my seat.

I looked over, seeing Ruki sitting in the chair next to me, reading out of a open book.  He just finished turning to the next page, as he continued to read out of it. I sat there silently, as I noticed that I wasn't that weak anymore. I looked at my wrists, as I moved my left hand over my right, as I sighed.  I didn't know what to do, or say to him.  So may questions ran though my head, like how did I get here and who was Eve.  I heard Ruki's book slammed shut, as he got up from his seat.  He walked over towards me, placing the book on the table in front of us.  He held out his hand as he towered over me, with a stern look on his face. "Let me see your wrists, or at least one of them" he said, not as a question, but more as a demand.   I carefully moved my left wrist into his hands, as I watched him with a scared look.  He didn't seem to notice my look, but he did grab my wrist and sat down.  He took a  deep sigh as he started to examine them over. I looked as I sat in shock, seeing the bunch of cuts, that the cuffs had left.  They were a deep red, and still bleeding but they seemed to slow down.  Ruki looked at them, while sighing. "It doesn't seem to be stopping" he said, as he brought my wrist to his mouth.  "Stay still for a minute" he said, as he licked some of the blood off my wrist.  I looked at him with wide eyes, as I tried not to look afraid.  I  felt like crying in fear, but I couldn't show him.  This is where I had to be strong, even though it was hard for me.

I took a deep breath as I shook in fear.  Ruki glared his blue eyes at me, taking note of my reaction. "Calm down, I'm not in the mood to feed.  Plus, your still too weak, and we don't want you dieing on us" he said, as he pulled out a little cloth from his pocket and placed it on my wrist.  "Can I get some help in here?" he yelled through the manton.  I felt a shadow cast over me as a voice spoke. "Good morning Skylar" Kou's cheerful voice spoke, as I looked back.  Kou was standing there in a white button up shirt, and a pair of jeans. He stood there, with his head in his hand as his blue and red eye watched me.  I didn't say anything at first, but I did take a gulp.  "Kou can you hold this so I can find more bandages?" Ruki asked as Kou did the command.  "Don't move Skylar. I'll be right back to take care of that" Ruki said, as he left the room.  I silently looked back at Kou as he cracked a smile. "Welcome home.  You must be a little scared, being out of that place, huh" he said as I looked around.  I didn't say anything, just looked up the staircase again.  I examined the walls again, as I turned back to the window, still seeing the same view.  "Well, what are you thinking right now?" he asked breaking the silence.  I heard a bag ruffle as Ruki came back into the room.

"She's probably still scared. She just woke up into this new house.  Don't forget, the guard said she hasn't been out in years" he said as he sat down.  Ruki grabbed my wrist from Kou as he unraveled the old bandage.  "Man that's a bad one.  How long was it until they changed your cuffs?" he asked, as I kept quiet. He must've been talking to himself at this point.  He stopped what he was doing as he looked up at me, then I knew he was expecting me to speak.  "Um...Not in a couple of years" I said, in a low shy voice.  Ruki sighed as he went back down to taking care of them. "And they seem to be still bleeding.  Do you mind if I clean them up a little bit?" he asked, as I nodded then looked at Kou.  Kou smiled as he sat next to me on the couch.  I looked back at Ruki as he brought my wrist to his mouth, and licked at the dead blood.  I flinched as Kou spoke. "Do you think doing that now will be a good idea?  I thought you were the one that told us to keep her settled down?"   Ruki jolted up in shock as he looked at my wrist.  "It can't be, but how?" he said, in a surprised voice.  I just looked at him as I looked at Kou, not knowing what to do.  Kou was leaning back on the couch relaxing, as he lunged forward. "What's wrong Ruki?" he asked, but Ruki stopped licking at the blood.  He took the bangage as he wrapped it around my wrists, finishing what he was doing.

"Alright, you must be tired, and it's very early.  So allow me to show you to your room" he said, as he got up, and I followed.  We started to head up the stairs as he turned back to Kou.  "Kou, please go find Azusa and Yuma.  I'm calling a little meeting to disscuss the rules" he said, as we continued up the stairs.  "Will do" Kou said, as he got up off the couch, and then he was gone.  No sound or trace of him.  I looked at it in complete shock. "So they are really vampire" I said, as Ruki's voice grabbed my attention. "Come on, it's getting late" he said, as I nodded then followed him. We walked through the mantion to another set of stairs, as I continued to follow him up that one.  He led me to a lonely door, on the higest part of the mantion.  "This is where you'll be staying. I don't know if it's a just for now or permanent, but you should get some rest either way.  Don't worry, we're not going to kill you. Just relax and try sleeping" he said, as the door shut and the sound of a lock entered the hallway outside of the room.  My eyes buldged out of my head, as I thought.  "He just locked me in here."  I turned towards the window as I looked out, seeing a full moon that brightened the sky.  It was framed in a round window at the top of the wall.  I walked up to the tall window below it as I examined the night.  "Is the night always like this?" I asked, as I put my hand on the glass.  I turned around, seeing the furnature in the room.  The bed was on the right of me, right in front of the window.  Next to that, was a dresser with the doors shut.  On the opposite side of the room, was a desk, with different bottles on it.  A hair brush was in front of a mirror that connected to the desk.

I walked up to the desk as I took one of the bottles, seeing the way it was set up.  "Huh, I wonder what these are" I thought as I put the bottle down.  I looked around finding a hair brush and a tray in front of the mirror.  I sighed as I turned around, then looked around the room as I examined everything. "This must be my new room" I thought to myself as I walked towards the bed, and sat on it.  I felt how it was nice and soft, which was weird for me. I lied on the bed as I looked up at the ceiling, seeing the shadows through the window.  I turned to look out the window, seeing the daylight, that peeked through the window.  "The sun must be coming up, I should get some sleep" I sighed to myself, as I shifted to rest on the bed more.  I studied the sunlight as it just continued to rise.  I thought of what Ruki told me when he locked me up in here. "Don't worry, we won't kill you" his voice echoed in my head, as I took a sigh. "If their not going to kill me, then what are they planning to do?" I asked myself as I found myself, surrendering to sleep as I closed my eyes, and was out for the night.

Meanwhile....

The Mukami's were sitting in their living room, doing their own thing.  Ruki was reading out of his book, as he cleared his throat and turned the page.  Yuma was lying on the couch, looking at the sunshine through the window and examining the sun that was starting to come up. Kou had a sheet of music for his idol carrier, and Azusa was next to him, looking at his bandages.  The whole living room was silent, except for the flipping pages of the book and music sheets.  Yuma huffed as he broke the silence. "So, do you think she's sleeping right now?" he asked, which grabbed everyone's attention.  Ruki didn't look up at his book when he spoke. "She could. I don't think we gave her enough blood yet.  I wanna make sure she's not going to die on us before we enroll her in school.  It wouldn't be good for her to pass out of blood loss in the middle of the day" he said, as he flipped to his next page.

Yuma looked up as he spoke. "What about the Sakamaki's?  When we were at the shelter, Reiji was giving her one of those looks" he asked, which cause Ruki to look up from his book.  "What look?" he asked, as he put his bookmarker in his spot and closed it.  Yuma sat up more as he spoke. "The look like he knew his next experiment.  I think he's thinking of doing something  with her."  Kou looked back and forth between Ruki and Yuma. "What would Reiji want with her?  Who knows, she might be another Eve" he said, breaking the silence.  Ruki got up as he started to walk out of the room. "If she's another bride, or Eve, I don't want to do anything until we know she can go through a day without passing out.  Eventually, I want to put her through school, and give her more of a life.  But for now, keep her here, and away from the Sakamaki's, unless one of us is here" he said, as he started to walk into the kitchen. He stopped in the doorway as he looked over his shoulder. "If anyone of you start seeing the Sakamaki's become suspicious of her, stop them. We can't let her go through any of that again" he said, as he left the room.  The room feel silent as Kou turned around to sit nicely on the couch.  Yuma stood up as he sighed. "Got to pick the veggies" he said as he left to go to the garden.  Kou looked out to watch the sun set, as he turned to Azusa, who was just watching everything.    "Going...to help...Ruki" Azusa said, as he left Kou all alone.  Kou sighed as he looked out the window.  He grabbed his music as he walked out of the room, and up to his bedroom.
