Part 11

Freya's POV I continue my search for Hayley with magic while Klaus and Marcel contact the werewolves, witch covens and the vampires. If "contact" would be the right word to use for what my brother is doing. Threatening is more like it. I suppose that's his way of doing things. But everyone has the same answer. We love Hayley.None of us would hurt her.Yet Someone ought to have done it. This whole city feels like it's boiling. I am afraid that at one breaking point it will finally spill the blood of innocents. Which brings me to Vincent...well Hope actually. I truly, truly hope that we find Hayley alive otherwise I don't know what powers might bloom from Hope's grief. We don't really know what the boundaries of her powers are. Yes, she's a first born Mikaelson witch but she is also part vampire and part werewolf. Those parts aren't active yet, but they are inside her. Who knows how will it affect Hope's powers? All of this, it went downfall the moment Hayley went missing. She was like this glue holding everyone together. I pray that for the sake of everything Hayley is found, or either Hope or my siblings coming together will be New Orleans' downfall. ⚜️'Compelling NOLA's finest, I see.' Marcel struts in like owns the place while Klaus stands on the balcony, hands braced on the railings. Watching over what seemed like more than a dozen people. 'If that's the city's finest, then it will wither from its own mediocrity.' 'Now, what are humans gonna do that the other factions can't?' Marcel questions, earning Klaus' attention. 'They have the numbers. I need eyes everywhere. Whoever did this can't hide from me. - What? -''Mm. Clear eyes, focused demeanor. You know, for Klaus Mikaelson, I'd say you're acting pretty normal.''If you've got a point, Marcel, spit it out.' 'There's chatter you're unhinged. I'm just making sure you're not poised to do something that we'll all regret.' 'Well, if the suicidal simpletons who took my daughter's mother return her unharmed, I won't have to do something we'll all regret, will I?''What happened when you went to go visit Elijah in France?' 'Nothing.' Klaus' face immediately goes hard, his muscles taut. 'He wasn't there.''No? You two didn't come face-to-face? Because last I heard, Hope's picking maggots out of her cafeteria food.''You seem to forget that my other siblings carry this curse.''So this is because Kol and Rebekah had an impromptu reunion?''Well, she's certainly not with you, is she?''This city isn't gonna stand for the kind of retribution you're threatening, and neither am I. Well, then, I suggest you take all of this as an incentive.' A paper rustle coming out of nowhere interrupts Marcel. Both he and Klaus whoosh away in the first floor of the compound before the paper has reached the ground. It is a simple white envelope with <: written behind it. Inside it has a piece of paper as well with only three words. An address. ⚜️'Have you considered this might be a trap? I could have vampires here in five minutes.' No answer. 'I can't help you if you won't let me.' 'If your assistance requires psychological evaluation, allow me to make this easy for you: psychopath on a mission, no time for chitchat.' 'Look, you want to shed blood today? Get in line. I care about Hayley, too. So be a dick to everyone else, but watch your tone with me.' Klaus raised his hand stopping Marcel from making another step.'We're here. Wait. What do you hear?' 'Absolutely nothing.' 'Hmm.' Klaus says nothing but follows Marcel inside the seemingly empty house. 'Klaus.' Marcel calls him from another room. Following his voice Klaus finds himself in a room with blood marks on the walls and a single chair wrapped in thorned rope. 'Wolfsbane and vervain. She was here.' ⚜️Vincent and Marcel

'Hayley has definitely been in here. I can't sense who took her, but, um, fear is just dripping off the walls.''Are you a hundred percent sure no one in your ranks did this?''I'm a hundred percent sure, are you?''Seven years ago, I would've said absolutely, but now, I seem to be getting more attitude than allegiance.''I'm gonna tell you something, Marcel. I appreciated this city a hell of a lot more when it ran like a democracy and not like a monarchy. Truth be told, none of y'all were missed.' Both Marcel and Vincent turned towards the footsteps.'He took Colette.''What?' 'Klaus. He took a member of each faction. Colette, David... Who's one of Lisina's wolves... That vampire who runs Rousseau's...''Josh?' Marcel perked up.'He said if we don't turn Hayley in by sundown, he'll slaughter them.'
