Chapter 4: Deal
03:01, 20 October 2019Hanji's POV
My computer is open in front of me with an empty microsoft word in the screen. My elbows rest in the table as I have my hands intertwined, and my head placed above it. The blinking cursor in front of me seems to make me relax as I think about the guy in my apartment again.
To be honest, there are hundreds of thoughts that circles inside my head right now. Most of it points out on me calling the police cause I just let an unknown guy rest in my place where most of my stuffs (and trash) are situated. I don't even know if I should go home tonight or rather spend it on Nanaba's due to what I just did earlier. But one things I'm sure of tho. I. Am. A. Fucking. Idiot. I am stressed because of the stupidity I did, of letting a stranger in my apartment as I go to work.
"Aaaaarrrggghh" I messed my already messy hair as I buried my head in my arms. Why did I even help him in the first place? When in fact, he broke into my home in the middle of the night? I raised my head a little and put my hands on either side of it. "Stupid! Stupid! Hanji!" I said, crashing my head on my desk in every word.
"Hey you okay?" I heard Moblit ask me. I faced hime with me hands still on my head and my forehead obviously red from what I just did earlier.
"Y-yeah. Of course" i faked a laugh as I untied my hair from its pony, only to tie it again in a more decent manner. I looked at the clock and notice that it is already 6 pm. Just an hour before my out. "Hey" I called out to Moblit. He hummed and looked at me as response. "Tell Erwin that I will go home early today" I told him and clicked my computer off. Moblit looked at me confused as I grabbed my coat and bag.
"What reason will I tell him?" He asked, looking at me as I collected my things from my table.
"Say that my stomach is going bad since morning and I have been throwing my dump in the girl's comfort room since then" I said and sped off from my office. That will do it, I guess?
The moment I got out of the building, I immediately called for a cab and told them my address. I also put the police number on hold, and Nanaba's on speed dial if ever things get a bit rough. I have to be cautious about this, especially because I'm at the lower end of the rope in this situation.
The taxi halted in front of my apartment. I took a deep breath before going out of it to face the stranger that I left inside. Countless scenarios plays inside my head making my hands go sweaty as I approached my apartment door. What if the inside of my apartment is already on fire? Or what if my apartment is already clean of its stuffs because the guy already sold them off? Or worst, what if when I opened my apartment door, that guy is already waiting by the side of the door with a kitchen knife in hand ready to slit my throat open?
Wait, the last one is definitely impossible cause he is so small that he could probably slash my chest instead of my throat.
I laughed a little at my thought but then immediately stopped when I realized that it would still hurt a lot. Damn Hanji. You're in a tight situation, aren't you?
I reached my apartment door but I didn't go inside of it. I don't know what lies in wait of me after all. Thus, I formulated a process of safely going inside of my apartment and kicking the chibi's butt out of it.
First, I'll kick the apartment door open, most probably startling the chibi of his spot. Then I remember clearly that I left a stack of books on the floor which I will use as a weapon to knock him unconcious. I'll throw my thickest book on him and while he's busy dodging it, I'll sneak an attack and trip his legs making him fall to the floor. I'll put my weight on him and turn him so his back is facing me and tie his hands with whatever I see around. After that, I'll call the police and have him arrested for trespassing!
I grinned with the brilliant plan that I just made. For sure, I will get my apartment back with this. Inhaling the crisp and cool air, I put my plan in action. I immediately kicked my apartment door open and what I saw made me gasp and forget about the plan that formulated a while ago.
Levi's POV
I sat at the couch and admired my work. The apartment looks like it is sparkling because of how clean it is. The dusty floor is now clean and shiny and the stained desk are now sparkling and decorated with vase and flowers. The kitchen which was once a home of nasty odor due to the spoiled food that was left in there is now filled with freshly cooked dinner and well-washed dishes and utensils. I literally transformed her apartment from trash to home and I can't help but feel proud of it. Next, I'm going to turn this as my house too.
*boogsh
My shoulder flinched when I heard the apartment door got kicked, making me stand up on reflex. I looked at the doorway, revealing a brunnette with glasses who has her jaw dropped and her eyes wide open.
"What the hell happened in my apartment?!" She yelled panicking as she got inside and looked around. She went in the kitchen and I heard her gasp a moment after. "Where's my trash? The food that Nanaba gave me?! And the shoe that I left in here?!" The four eyes looked at me shocked. "What did you did you do?!"
I narrowed my eyes and all of my hope getting in this apartment died. Everything went opposite of how I expected it. Well, what can I say. I formulated that plan, putting in consideration that the owner of this apartment is a normal person with a high level of gratitude, and not a crazy shitty glasses with cleaning issues.
"Can't your damn eyes see it? I just removed all your craps and literally turned your shitty apartment into a home, and not a fucking trash" I failed to kept my mouth shut and just let all those words out which made her even more surprised. I grit my teeth, looking at the other side when I realized what I just did. Now she'll probably kick me out of her house because of that.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" I turned my head back towards her, seeing her wiping her eyes from tears. Then she went towards me and slapped my back hard. "Dude, I never thought that I'll see my apartment in this state but you made it possible" She laughed again while I frowned at her "You're unbelievable"
No. You're unbelievable.
"I prepared a dinner for the two of us" I said leaving her a laughing mess in the living room. I was scooping a portion of my cooking when the shitty glasses came back in the kitchen. She is looking at it with her mouth in shape of an "o"
"Seriously, this is awing. How the hell did you do this? I actually thought that my house is hopeless" She said, sitting in front of the dining table.
"Correction. Dump site. Your dump site." I told her as I gave her a plate of the dinner I prepared. She eyed it suspiciously, taking a spoonful of it. Then she smelled it and looked at it closely. She played with it in here spoon and observed how it rocked back and forth everytime she moved the spoon.
I lost my patience and grabbed her spoon, putting the food inside my mouth. I swallowed it in front of her and narrowed my eyes. "It is not poisoned if that is what you're thinking"
I turned my back to grab her a new spoon when she called out my attention.
"Then you should eat too. It will make me more comfortable thinking that the stranger who made my food is eating with me at the same time" She said and then she smiled. I, on the other hand, let out a sigh and scooped myself some dinner too. I sat in front of her and gave her the spoon that I grabbed earlier.
I ate in silence while she continued blabbering about how great her house looks and how good the dinner was. For 20 awful minutes, I patiently ate my dinner and let my ear bled from all of her stories. Trust me, you'll get annoyed with each of it.
But the last thing she said made me stop and look at her. She raised an eyebrow and repeated what she said.
"You cleaned my apartment, prepared me a dinner and waited for me, up until I got home. So what gives?" The shitty glasses asked me. I first took a sip from my water and faced her before saying my demand.
"I want to stay at your apart-"
"No can do" she replied even before I finished my sentence. "Eventhough you did all of this, I still can't let a stranger stay in my house. So thank you for cooking me a delicious dinner and exerting some effort on cleaning my house, but I still can't let you live here" Four eyes got up of her chair and grabbed her plates, throwing it on the sink. The sight made me cringe.
"You're seriously just gonna leave that in there?!" I yelled, losing patience with this shitty woman.
"Yep. I'll clean that tomorrow" She shouted from her room. I stomped my way towards her room and opened the door harshly.
"If you'll let me stay in your fucking apartment, I will clean every mess you make and prepare you a food every day, breakfast, dinner, and lunch. I'll wash all your dirty shitty clothes and iron your damn working clothes. I'll even do the groceries and all your errands if you want. Just let me stay in here until I find my own" I forgot choosing the right words as I talk to her but she seem to not mind it. She put her hand at her chin and looked at me.
"You'll do that everyday?"
"Every fucking day" I snorted.
She laughed. "You talk harshly. But dont worry I'm used to that" Shitty glasses got up of her bed and went in front of me. "Okay then. I'll let you stay in here. But promise me that it won't take a year"
"Not even a month, I hope" I said rolling my eyes.
"And you won't mess with my stuffs"
"Trust me, getting involved with that is the last thing I wanna do" Shitty eyes raised an eyebrow at me and continued talking.
"When my friends are here, you are to stay at your room and will not go out unless I say so"
"What are you my mother?" I sarcastically said. She just chuckled.
"Lastly, none of us will ever do a thing that will make the other feel uncomfortable"
"The only thing that makes me uncomfortable is your mess" I said crossing my arms. She grinned and did the same.
"You know what, for a gay, you are way too rough" She said but I just shrugged my shoulder. "I'm Hanji by the way"
"Levi"
"Well then Levi, welcome aboard"
I don't know why she told me that, when in fact, that phrase is said whenever you join a ride. It might be because she likes to joke around or maybe staying in her apartment means getting involved with her annoying life. Regardless of that, I still achieved my goal and that is the thing that matters. I finally got a home, so next stop, a job.
