Chapter 2: Intruder

Hanji's POV

I groaned as I slammed my door shut and dragged myself to my bed. It is already 9 pm and I didn't expect that I stayed at Nanaba's house longer than I told myself.

An hour after I arrived at her house, Mike came home along with a guy named Gelgar. Thats when I realized that I have been trapped. It is Nanaba we are talking about and of course, by all means possible, she will be pairing me up with another guy. So I spent a one killing hour at her house with that guy who seemed to be uninterested too (and that is a good thing tho).

After removing my glasses and placing it at the bedside table, I let myself fall down the bed. "I'm tired" I sighed, burying my face on my bed. With my face buried, I reached for my pillow and put it above my head. "I'll just take a quick nap before I change my clothes" I told myself as I closed my eyes. And again, I fell asleep with my coat and work clothes still on, my ponytail in my hair and my bag resting beside me, just how I always do every night.

My eyes flashed open when I heard the clicking from my front door. Eventhough I am messy and a little bit clumsy (in my own way), I have a really good sense with my surroundings. And my front door opening when I am sure that I locked it is a bad indicator for me. Someone is intruding my apartment.

I reached for my glasses at the bedside table and immediately put it on myself. All my lights are turned off which I think comes in my advantage. I know every inch of my apartment and even if it is dark, I can imagine where all of my mess are, including the shoe I wore two weeks ago that I left at the kitchen counter.

"I need a weapon to sneak an attack at the intruder" I whispered while I tapped the table beside me. I felt my biology book and quickly grabbed it. It is hard bounded and trust me, it is very thick as it contains over five hundred pages.

I tip toed towards the living room where I heard a few more stumbling and caught a glimpse of something small. I smirked. Looks like my intruder is a teenager. It will be easier for me.

I walked behind the intruder and readied myself by lifting the book above him.

"This place is messy" I heard him say which made me stop. He turned at my direction and due to my shock, I loose my grasp on the book making it fall at my feet.

"Shit!" I said reaching to rub my feet when I hit my side at the table. "Argh" I groaned.

"Oi-" the man tried to reach his hand at me but I took a step back, completely forgetting about the t shirt I left at the floor 3 days ago which caused me to slip and hit my head hard on my dust filled floor.

"Why aren't they answering their damn phone!"

What the?! Who's that?

I squinted my eyes after I woke up on my floor. Then I saw a chibi making a phone call while pacing back and forth in my living room. He seemed enraged which caused me to think twice if I should get his attention or not.

Wait no. This is my apartment. I should be throwing any intruders out.

"H-hey!" I called out his attention but immediately regretted when he glared at me. Trust me, that look of him made some chills to run down my spine.

He probably noticed my expression cause he sighed and rubbed his temples before he looked at me again, this time without glaring but his face is still frowning.

"What?"

I straightened my back and tried to look more confident as I faced him. "What are you doing at my apartment?" I asked him. He raised an eyebrow at me and I did the same.

"This is my apartment" he said and that is when I noticed a backpack and a box at the door. "I just bought it an hour ago" and then he showed me a key with a titan key chain.

"Hey! Thats my key!" I said as I grabbed it. "I lost this a few days ago!" I threw him a glare which made him frown even more.

"Shit" he cursed and started to furiously tap on his phone.

"You won't be able to reach them anymore. They have probably ran away with your money" I told him but he just hissed. "Get out of my apartment now"

He looked at me and sighed. "I can't believe that I'm gonna do this" he whispered under his breath. "Please... Let me live in your apartment for now"

My eyes widened. "W-what?"

"Let me live in your apartment for now. Just until I find my own" he said in a monotone voice that made it hard for me to figure out if he is pleading or ordering me.

"No!" I said immediately just as he was about to say something again. "Get out of my place now!" He closed his eyes for a moment before he turned his back and went to get his bag and box. He was about to open the door when he turned around and looked at me again.

"Shit. This is the first time that I'm doing this but yeah. I'm begging you to please let me stay for a while" I looked at him seriously, my face yelling 'no'. "I'm gay. If that is what you are afraid of. I won't do anything to you. Trust me"

I was shock at his sudden confession but I remained firm with what I just said. "I don't care. Just get the hell out"

"Tsk" he finally went out. I quickly locked my door and pulled a chair against it. I put my box of books and papers on the chair and looked at it satisfied before going back to my room. I laid on my bed and looked at the clock.

"Heck. It is 3 in the morning?!" I panicked as I sat up. Then I changed my clothes. I only have 3 hours to sleep! Damn that chibi intruder!
