Chapter 45

Sesshomaru's POV

I reached the outskirts of the village, I was so close, and so was Rin.  Her heart is failing her, her light is starting to fade.  I pushed myself to continue.  I will not lose her.  I growled when her heart became slower, I could barely hear it.  I growled out, and arrived shortly at the entrance to my half-brothers home.  I ripped open the curtain that was used for a door.  All heads turned to see me in the entrance of their home.  I was over at the kitchen table in a blink of an eye, as I pushed everything off of it and onto the floor.  I laid Rin down, as Kagome came to the other side of her.  I was in a panic state, me of all demons, the great lord sesshoamru was in a state of panic.  Father, Inuyasha, Izayoi were now surrounding my mate as she lay on the table, her life leaving her. 

"Sesshomaru what happened?"  Kagome asked. 

"She was captured, he cut her open."  I tried to reach for her, but Kagome swatted my hand away.  I growled out, as Inuyasha and father grabbed me, and began to pull me away.  This is completely different from her past injuries.  And they could tell.

"My son, you must calm down so that we may help her."

"Her heart is too slow, her breathing is too slow, and her light is fading."  I spoke out, it was as if I had no air, no air to breathe, I could feel her slipping away, and I heard Kagome and Izayoi trying to help her. 

I could Kagome speaking to her.  "Rin, stay with me, Open your eyes.  Look at me, can you hear me.  Rin stay with us, breathe, come on breathe."  I froze completely, her heart stopped.  I fell to my knees, inuyasha and father still at my side.  I dropped.  "Rin, stay with me."  I could barely hear anything anymore.  Although all heads turned to me when I spoke.

"Rin's Pregnant."  That's all I could say, I had lost my mate and now my unborn pup that was within her; I had lost them both. 

"Rin, stay with us, come back."  I forced myself to stand as I fought to be next to my mate.  I shoved father and Inuyasha away, as I reached her.  The opposite side from Kagome, as she had her hands on her chest, and would push down a few times before breathing air into her mouth.  I grabbed a knife that was near, and slit my wrist, as I placed my wrist over Rins mouth, my blood falling into her.  I began to chant ancient words of my language.  I could hear others in the room, as father too realized what it was that I was doing, the last resort to save her life, was to tie hers to mine, along with given her my own strength and power.  By doing this her wounds should heal, and she should come back.  I soon hear my father murmuring the same words along with me, providing more power to surge through the room. 

I stopped when her beautiful brown eyes popped open and stared up at me.  I removed my wrist, from her mouth, as I saw the confusion in her eyes for such thing.  Then fear and even further confusion came across her expression.  She tried to speak but I hushed her.  "Sess..."  I leaned down to her, further down south.  My hand rested on her stomach along with my head.  I closed my eyes, and listened.  Her wound had healed, but not completely, just enough to bring her back, although it will continue to heal for the next few hours.  I sighed in content and happiness when I heard the slightest sound, a small faint, very faint heartbeat.  A strong one indeed, like his mother.  Pride, joy, love, and hope filled within me. 

I looked back up at her, and smiled, as she tried to speak again.  I kissed her this time to hush her; that was too close, and I did not approve of what just accord.  I almost lost the two most important people in the world to me.  She soon relaxed and kissed back, one of her small hands going to my shoulders, which were bare.  She pulled away, and looked at me.

"Sesshoamru?"

"You are alright now, get some rest."  I told her as I lifted her back into my arms, and held her. 

"I will come by later tonight to check on her, and then tomorrow morning."  Kagome told me, and I nodded.

I carried my angel to her old home, and then laid her carefully in her bed.  I knew at least to have her on her left side, but she was too injured for that.  She will be fine on her back for the time being, until she heals.  I smiled, as I moved a strand of hair from her face, and behind her ear.  My lovely mate, is pregnant with my unborn pup.  I have a child inside of her.  We have a child inside of her. 

I settled next to her, and laid my arm gently over her, as I watched her sleep.  I sniffed, and then stood slowly walking to the living area, to see my father.  I looked at him, and he looked at me with what is it, love, understanding, joy, anger, I have no idea, emotions are not my strong point.

"My son, you have done well."  What the hell does that mean, I almost lost my mate and unborn pup, and he wants to come in playing games.  I had my own father pinned to the wall by his neck. 

"I almost lost my mate and unborn pup today, do not test me Father!"  I growled out, his eyes widened and he managed a slight nod.  I released him and took a few steps back from him. 

"I am proud of you my son, you have learned to love, and to put someones needs before your own.  That is all that I had wanted to teach you so long ago, I guess it was just at the wrong time."  He said as he glanced towards Rin's room.  I growled and he looked back to me.  "You will be a father sooner than you think, I believe you will be great at it, and you will come to a better understanding of what I did so long before."

"I believe that I already do, father."  I told him honestly.  He looked at me, questionably.  I slowly made my way back to him, and actually hugged my father.  I haven't hugged him since I was but a pup.  "I am, sorry father."  I told him, as he embraced me back. 

"You are forgiven Sesshomaru, my son."  I felt so much sadness, and pain.  So this is weakness, yet strength.  We pulled away from each other, and I bowed my head to my father out of respect for him.  He then did the same which surprised me a bit.  "Go on, go be with her, she needs you now more than ever."  I nodded and walked back to the bedroom to be with my mate.

Sorry it took a while guys.  I am not sure when I will be able to update the next chapter.  Again this book is coming to an end  :(  But there may be a sequel.  :)
