Chapter 38

*WARNING! This chapter is sad in some parts I almost cried writing it. So beware.*

" Do you have to go?" You asked Erik in the whiniest voice you had. "Yes, you know I have to." He said kissing your palm. "Is Jett all packed?"You nodded and bent down to kiss your two year old on his head."I love you buddy." You said"Wuvv too mommy." He said back."Tell my mom to call me before he goes to bed."He nodded and agreed as he put Jett in his car seat. He turned back to face you and he kissed you passionately getting an "ew" Jett. "I'll miss you. I'll call you when I get there." You nodded. "And I'll miss you too." He said bending down to kiss your belly.He stood up still rubbing your pregnant tummy, " Nancy will be here soon, stay off your feet and don't stress or worry. I love you so much."You smiled and placed your hand over his and kissed his cheek. "I love you too now go before I keep you all to myself. I'm sure Charles won't like that."He nodded and kissed you again before getting in the car and leaving. You walked back into your house and sat down to watch tv.A while after that Nancy came and let her self in."Hi Eli" You said kissing the little boy in Nancy's arm. "Goodness he looks so much like Charles!"She smiled," I know right? It's insane." She sat on the couch and put Eli on the floor to play with some of Jett's toys."So, how are you feeling?" She asked."Tired, sore, swollen, moodswingy. The usual." You answered."Well that's what usually happens at 12 weeks. I'm so excited for you and Erik.""Thanks Nance, so I am. I know it will only make us stronger and Jett will have a little brother or sister to play with."

You and Nancy talked and watched tv for a few more hours before she went to sleep while you waited up for Erik to call.The phone rang and you picked it up almost immediately. "Hi."you said"Hi." You could hear the smile in his voice.You two talked for a while before you vocally became tired."Go to sleep princess.""But I wanna talk to you. I miss you." You said in a yawn. " And I miss you too pumpkin but you need sleep so our little one can grow big and healthy. I can't wait to meet her.""Her?""I have a feeling I'll be having another little princess."You smiled, "I sure hope so. I can't wait to meet her either. Maybe this one will look like me.""If that's the case I'll have to chase the boys away."You laughed and yawned again."Okay time to go to sleep, I mean it. You need your rest and I have to go." You sighed,"and no pouting." He added and you stopped reluctantly."Okay okay. Tell the boys I said hello and please be careful. I need you back here in one piece. I love you so much."" I love you too, take it easy. Goodnight."You hung up and went to sleep.

You woke up in the middle of the night in agonizing pain.You reached over to your lamp and turned it on.

Blood. There was so much blood."No no no." You whispered before touching your parts to see where it was coming from."NANCY!" You screamed and waited for her to come in.Seconds later she ran in," Ana what's wr-" she glanced at the sheets."No. Just stay here honey I'm gonna call 911."You crawled into a ball and cried until the ambulance came to get you.

You laid in the hospital bed just looking at the wall. Nancy was in the chair next to you sleeping with Eli in her arms.You sobbed quietly before drifting back to sleep.

You woke up to see your mom sitting in the chair instead of Nancy.She looked at you and grabbed your hand as she gave you a sad smile."Hi baby." She said."Mom." Was all you could say before you cried uncontrollably.She calmed you down and talked with you for a few hours."You need to tell Erik." She finally said."Tell him what mom? Our baby died? It died inside me. She didn't even get a chance to live. We would have loved her so much and now we can't. And it's my fault.""Stop that!" She shouted, "you didn't do anything wrong, you're a great mother and this isn't your fault. He loves you so much he'll understand."

A day later you were discharged from the hospital.You laid in bed crying most of the time. You cried out all of your emotions and finally you accepted the miscarriage.

A week later Erik finally came home. You've been avoiding telling him the bad news for many reasons.

You two were laying in bed one night when he was rubbing your belly, "I've missed you too little baby, almost as much as I missed mommy." He said smiling.You sighed heavily and sat up, "Erik. I have to tell you something."He noticed the pain in your eyes and sat up immediately. "What is it princess?"You took a deep breath,"I..I...we lost the baby."You expected anger but it was silent.You looked up and saw tears brimming in his eyes."When?""About 3 weeks ago."His brows furrowed," why didn't you tell me earlier?"You broke down in tears," tell you that our baby is dead?!! I didn't know how!"He got off the bed and left the room and you heard the front door slam.You laid back down and cried yourself to sleep.

Hours later you awoke to the sound of glass shattering and you grabbed the metal bat under your bed and tiptoed to the sound.You saw Erik sitting in the kitchen surrounded by broken dishes."Erik." You paused and put the bat down to take a step toward him. "What are you doing?""I'm sad." He slurred. Oh god, he's drunk."So you broke all our dishes?..""We don't have a baby. She's gone. She's dead."You walked over to him and pulled him off of the floor before getting him a glass of water." I know. Now drink the water."He gulped it down and you refilled it before leading him to the bedroom. "Lay down." You demanded and he just stood looking at your belly.He started poking it," Why'd you have to go princess? You were gonna be just like mommy and we already loved you and we were gonna love you more and you and Jett were gonna play and-""Erik please." You half shouted cutting him off. You fought back your tears. Someone had to be strong here."Lay down."He finally laid in bed and you left to grab some Tylenol for when he woke you. You placed it on the nightstand near the glass of water and left the already sleeping Erik in bed alone.

You sat in the living room starting blankly at a wall until you fell asleep.

You woke up to being carried. Once Erik laid you on the bed he kissed you and sat on the edge.

"Ana. I am so sorry. I was just so hurt that I became selfish. You were carrying her and I know it had to be harder on you. I should've taken your feelings into account instead of getting wasted and breaking things. I just love you and Jett so much and this baby would have made everything better.  I want you to know that I won't leave your side until I know for sure that you are okay. It'll take sometime.  We can try and try and try and try again to have another baby."You smiled and kissed him softly, " I love you so much Erik, I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier. You just seemed so happy and I knew it would break your heart. I was scared you'd leave me or hate me."He frowned deeply," C'mon beautiful. You know I could never hate you. You and Jett are my whole world. I love you more than I could ever express. It wasn't your fault. Maybe we just weren't ready. We can take our time. Maybe focus on Jett more. We can try again later. Or as soon as you want." He winked and kissed your neck. You laughed, "Stop it Erik."He smiled at you. "You're so strong." He said kissing you. "And beautiful." Kiss. "And funny." Kiss. "And smart." Kiss. "And kind." Kiss. "And a great mother." Kiss. "You're just so damn perfect. We'll get through this together and I'll never leave you ever.""Good cause then I'd be sad." You pouted."You're such a baby." He smiled. "I love you so much Mrs. Lensherr."" I love you too Mr. Lensherr." You said then yawned."Let's go to sleep." He said and you put a hand on his chest to stop him."Uh uh uh. I distinctly remember a crazy drunk mutant man making a mess of my kitchen like he doesn't have any sense. Now go clean it up or you're in big trouble mister." You said as you laid down to sleep."Yes ma'am." He saluted and kissed you before soldier marching out of the room.
