Avisa Joins the Straw Hats
08:09, 26 November 2024Avisa, Sanji, and Zoro made their way down the mountain without too much trouble—even with carrying her brother down too. They managed to make it back to her family's farm just as the sun was starting to rise over the horizon.
When she got there, she stood in shock for a second as she realized that there were unconscious men scattered all around the ground. They looked in very rough shape. She almost felt bad for Seguaro's men. Almost.
As they entered the house, Jaimie ran and almost pushed Avisa over as he grasped her tightly in a hug. "Avisa, you're okay," he said between sniffles.
Avisa's eyes blurred a bit with her own tears as she crouched and hugged him tightly. "Yes, I am. And I'm so glad you are too." She backed away and asked, "You are okay? Right?"
He nodded and wiped a few tears off his face as he smiled. "The Straw Hats are so awesome. You should have seen it! Those guys didn't have a chance!"
She laughed a little as she looked at the crew who were gathered in the dining room and said, "Thank you."
A few of them nodded in acknowledgement or blushed. But Luffy then groaned, "Now I'm so hungry." He turned to Sanji. "Sanji, I need meat!"
Sanji rolled his eyes and was about to respond when Avisa's grandmother said, "Don't worry about it my dears. I already plan to make a feast for you. It's the least I can do."
Avisa then went over to her grandmother and gave her a hug before she turned to Chopper and explained her brother's injuries just as Zoro placed him gently on one of the make-shift beds on the floor. Chopper immediately got to work on him.
Pretty soon her brother was stabilised, and the group ate their breakfast with some celebration. They all told each other some of what happened on each side of the fight, and they especially found Avisa's method of getting the upper hand on Seguaro to be surprising and interesting. Robin especially appreciated and approved of her method.
Avisa's heart was touched as she gobbled down her food and watched her friends, thinking about how much she owed to them. If it wasn't for them, she was sure she wouldn't have saved her family. As she was thinking this, she felt Sanji grab her hand. She looked at him and he kissed her softly. She blushed a bit as her little brother went, "Eugh, gross." Her grandmother smiled slightly though and continued to eat her food silently.
Then Sanji whispered in her ear, "Can I talk to you outside for a second?" She nodded and followed him out to the front porch.
Just as they walked down the path out of eyesight, Sanji pushed her gently against a tree and began to kiss her desperately as his hands went to her waist. Avisa moaned a bit as she pulled him closer.
When he finally broke away a little breathlessly, he said, "I love you, Avisa-chan."
She smiled. "I love you too." She gave him another kiss before she saw someone in the corner of her eye and her eyes widened a bit as she saw Luffy walking to them.
"Hey Luffy," she said. Both her and Sanji looked at him in a bit of confusion.
Luffy smiled a little sheepishly as he approached them. He looked at Avisa and said simply, "We're going to head out soon to get to the other island."
Avisa's heart dropped. She wasn't ready to say goodbye and the look on her face must have given away her sudden anguish as Luffy suddenly said with a grin, "Oh, I meant all of us. You're one of us now. We could use a storyteller and...weird mind-power person on our crew."
She looked at him in a bit of shock as she laughed and said, "Oh, you just decided that did you?"
Sanji smiled. "Yeah, he tends to do that."
Luffy turned to leave as he called over his shoulder, "We leave in a couple hours."
Sanji looked at her with a smirk and said, "Welcome to the Straw Hats, Avisa-chan."
...
Avisa had a bit of a tearful goodbye with her family before she left. Her little brother was especially sad to see her go, but he knew he'd see her one day again deep down and he wanted her to follow her dream. He had told her, "I want you to become the best storyteller in the world so that I can read your stories and be proud of you." He then smiled brightly and added, "Then I can follow my dreams too and know they're possible." She had tried her best not to weep at this but held it together thankfully and instead gave him a very long hug.
She also soon found out the island was now captivated by the rumour that Lord Dinero was dead, and his men were fleeing the island. Natasha came up to the house at one point to confirm the rumour for herself and apologize to Avisa sincerely for betraying her. Avisa understood and forgave her. She knew how scary it was to fear for one's family.
James also woke eventually and told Avisa again how sorry he was for having done all that he did to help Lord Dinero. He promised to try and make it right and protect her grandmother and Jaimie when she left.
He looked at her a bit tearfully. "I know now that you care for me as a brother, even if you did make mistakes," he said. "And I...I should have treated you as my own blood too. I'm sorry for forgetting that. It was Seguaro only that I should have hated—never you."
She smiled sadly and hugged him. "Just let go of the hate now, okay?"
He nodded and hugged her back.
...
As Avisa arrived back on the Sunny with the Straw Hats, evening was fast approaching, and she looked at the sea with a smile as the low sunshine danced and sparkled across the waves. Her heart was full of so many emotions, but she leaned into the happiness as she took Sanji's hand in her own and they began to walk towards the kitchen to start on supper as the crew prepared the ship for sailing.
As they were preparing the food, Avisa realized Sanji was planning on making the same stew he made when she tried to highjack the ship and she smiled a little. She turned him around from his stirring. "Are you trying to make me feel bad for trying to steal the ship? I thought we were past that." She pouted mockingly at him.
His eyes widened with panic as he said, "No, my love! I meant to make the stew because it was the first thing I cooked for you. I thought it would be romantic."
She smiled and kissed him. "I was teasing you. I do think it's sweet. Relax, my love-cook."
Though he tried to hide it, Sanji's face contorted with some disgust as he responded, "Please don't call me that my love."
She giggled. "Okay, I won't. What do you want me to call you?"
His face blushed a little as he said, "I like it when you call me 'my love.'"
"I'll call you that then, my love," Avisa replied as she leaned forward and kissed him.
He blushed even more and then the crew started to crowd the dining room for the meal.
During dinner, the room was full of laughter and chatter as the crew caught up on all the things that had happened in the last few days. Suddenly, Avisa had a thought and asked Luffy, "Now that I'm on the crew, where on the ship am I going to sleep?"
He seemed to pause confused for a second before his eyes lit up. "Oh, ya! I forgot about that! Franky will show you."
Now it was Avisa's turn to be confused. She looked at Franky and said, "Huh?"
He smiled widely. "We have a surprise for you and Sanji."
The crew explained that Franky, Ussop, and Nami—while they stayed on the ship—had been working on a secret project. They had repurposed a room to be a room for the two of them.
They took them to a room at the end of one of the halls and opened it as Sanji and Avisa walked in. The room was small, but plenty of room for the two of them. It had a round porthole on one end that let the sunset's orange hues illuminate the queen-sized bed. There was also a dresser on the one end of the room and a tiny desk where she saw her book of stories sitting. Avisa felt tears start to flood her eyes as she looked over the room. Finally, she turned and reached up to give Franky a hug. She could tell he was touched by this, but he pretended not to be too emotional as he told them different features of the room.
Nami smirked and added towards the end, "I also made sure he made it soundproof and put a good lock on the door for privacy."
Both Avisa and Sanji blushed at this but thanked them all sincerely.
...
That evening, as the Sunny set sail on the waves again and they headed to their next adventure, Avisa cuddled with Sanji on the deck as the crew laughed and chatted and goofed off. Brook soon played a tune too and she watched as a few of them danced goofily. She smiled and looked up at Sanji. He looked happy and peaceful, and her heart warmed at the thought. He seemed to notice her gaze and looked at her with a slight smile. "What are you thinking about," she asked.
"I was thinking how lucky I am to have so many friends around me." He looked at her curiously and asked, "What were you thinking about my love?"
She smiled. "Pretty much the same thing. Although I was also thinking how happy I am to see that you are happy."
He nodded. "I really am."
Avisa kissed him softly and then said, "I am curious about something though."
"Yes? What is it my love?"
"How much of what my father said did you hear? You must have been around for a bit before you jumped in to save me. I hope you know I had no idea Lord Dinero was Seguaro all along."
He looked at her with some sadness as he said, "I heard everything. I caught up to you as you entered the place and I slipped into the shadows so I would have the element of surprise on my side."
Avisa nodded slowly as she took this in. "So, you know everything." She sighed and smiled sadly as she added, "I guess now you know why I feel so strongly children should be treasured."
He nodded. "You never deserved a father like that. And I hope you know you're nothing like him."
Avisa grasped his hand and squeezed it gently as she said, "No one does." And she smiled a little as she said, "And I don't think any child is destined to be like their father as long as there are good people to show them a different way. Thankfully, there are still good people in this world and family can be so much more than blood. Seguaro was never my dad. Only one man in the world gets that title."
Sanji smiled at her and said, "You have a good heart Avisa-chan."
She kissed him again and replied, "You do too my love."
Sanji then stood up and put out his hand as he asked, "Would you like to dance?"
She smiled brightly as she took his hand and said, "Of course, my love."
They swayed to Brook's slower tune, and she rested her head on his shoulder as they held each other close.
A nostalgic mood seemed to rest on them all as they enjoyed each other's company under the stars. The past was looked on with solace and healing and the future was filled with purpose and possibility. The story was still being written and Avisa and Sanji knew it would be a good one.
Writer's Note: Thank you to all the people who have read the story until this point. I hope it has brought you joy, even if it is just a Wattpad fanfic. I will probably add an extension to this chapter in the next part for those of you who are comfortable with spicier scenes, but for those of you who aren't, feel free to stop here. I've tried to make it as satisfying an ending for both types. But of course, the ending of a story is really just the end to one part of a character's life and there are always chapters to come, whether we read and write them or not. That's the beauty of it. There's always possibility.
Please let me know if there's anything else you guys want me to write. I would consider anything really, so don't be afraid to comment below.
