They walked towards her desk as she pulled out a diary and pointed at the latest words that were written on the page.

Shubman read the word and a smile appeared on his face, he looked at Navya whose face lit up with the brightest of smiles. She wrote the exact same things in her diary, ofc the wordings were different but the summary was the same.

The room was filled with silence, but it was not awkward, they were simply smiling at each other not knowing what to speak.

"Kal tumhara kya plan hain?" he asked.

"Kuch khas nahi. kyu?"

"Kal subah shoot hain mera, I was thinking uske baad is note ko sach karna chahiye" he said lifting the book from the table, she took the book from him and nodded in agreement.

"Ek aur baath" Shubman said not knowing if it was the right time to talk. "Agar yeh sab mere liye hi tha tho mujhe ignore kyu kiya. Wo bhi pura din" he asked taking her hand with the bangle into his.

Navya - I was not sure, if you would remember.

Shubman - why won't I?

Navya - Shubman 10 saal ho gaye hain. Tumhara mujhe yaad rakha itself is a big deal aur ye sab bhi yaad rakhoge - esa main expect nahi kar sakti thi.

Shubman - kyu nahi kar sakti. Hum dost the na.

Navya - Hum bache bhi tho the. Mere baadh kitne dost banaye honge tumne.

Shubman - Par tumhare jaise tho tum akeli ho na. Tum doubt nahi karthi thi mujh par. I was comfortable around you. Your trust in me wanted me to trust me...

Navya - Why wouldn't I? Tumne mujhe mujhse milwaya tha, tho tum mere liye mujhse badkar hue na. Kaise trust nhi karthi.

Shubman did not know how to react. It was just a small sentence for the world but for him it meant the world.

"Kal milte hain" he said pulling her into a gentle hug while she reciprocated it with a smile.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Shubman tossed on the bed, he could neither sleep nor dismiss his thoughts.

"She is holding on to my memories. She was holding on to me" he said, his voice not louder than a whisper.

"Aghh... I sound like a teenage boy in Love" he thought to himself.

"We are lost friends, who are gonna know each other. Big deal. Aisa thodi hain ki shaadi ka rishta hain and I have to impress her. We are Just friends. Just FRIENDS, itna stress lene ki koi zaroorat nahi hain"

JUST FRIENDS.
