Chapter 3: Hope

DISCLAIMER - I DO NOT OWN DRAGON BALL Z. If I did I would be rich and probably making more episodes of it... This is the 3rd chapter of the story enjoy!

NOTE: The spelling and grammar for this chapter has been updated. :) Finally getting around to updating because I have summer vacation. Yays

Chapter 3: Hope

Back on Earth a couple minutes later

Goku was still passed out from the hit to the stomach a couple of minutes ago. He was knocked out cold and there was blood at the side of his mouth.

"Oh god Goku, is he alive?" Bulma asked Roshi.

Master Roshi put two fingers on Goku's neck to check his pulse to see if he was still alive. He then lifted his fingers away after checking if he was alive or not.

"Master Roshi is Goku alive or is he dead?" Krillin asked him.

"Goku's going to be fine, It's a slow heartbeat but he should make it through this. He's been through worse before." Master Roshi told them.

"Well that is true, he should be able to make it out of this." Bulma said having more hope.

Just then they heard something coming, they were flying through the air.

"Oh crap is that Raditz?!" Krillin asked panicking.

"No it's not, it's somebody else but they're too far away so I don't know who it is..." Master Roshi said to Krillin and Bulma.

The figure was getting closer to the island, Bulma and Krillin were worried but stayed to watch who was coming. The figure finally landed, it was Piccolo! Bulma started to shake in fear at the sight of Piccolo, he had killed many people, he seemed no better than Raditz at the time.

"AHHH It's Piccolo!" Bulma shouted.

"Wait guys, he looks hurt very badly." Krillin said shaking.

Then Piccolo walked forward but then collapsed onto his right knee. He had cuts, scrapes and bruises and there was blood on his clothes.

"I have to tell you something, it's Important!" Piccolo said.

"What is it?" Master Roshi asked him.

"I was training and then this person came up to me and asked where someone called Kakarot was. I didn't answer the question and he punched me in the stomach. Although, I noticed he had a tail like Goku's and he also had black hair, I want to know who Kakarot is and who that guy was! Do you guys know who Kakarot is or who that guy was?" Piccolo asked them.

Then Bulma, Krillin and Master Roshi realized that Piccolo was probably attacked by Raditz.

"Oh my god you were probably attacked by Raditz! He called Goku "Kakarot" so Goku must be Kakarot. That guy was Goku's brother!" Bulma said.

Piccolo just stared at Goku taking notice that he was hurt more badly then himself. Then he looked back at Bulma again.

"So he attacked you guys too right?" Piccolo asked.

"Yeah and he took Goku's son." Bulma told Piccolo

"GOKU HAS A SON! IDIOTS! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THIS EARLIER?!" Piccolo asked.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you didn't know he had a son?" Krillin asked Piccolo.

"Oh yeah I certainly knew about his son and that's why I asked you guys why you didn't tell me about his son earlier..." Piccolo said sarcastically.

"Oh alrighty then." Krillin replied.

"IT'S CALLED SARCASM!" Piccolo said to him.

"Guys we have to find a way to get Goku back to health and how to get Gohan back." Master Roshi said.

Goku's eyes started to open and he looked around to see if everyone was okay.

"Is everyone okay?" Goku asked them.

"GOKU! Your alive!" Bulma yelled giving him a short hug.

"Yeah Bulma I'm alive. Wait where's Gohan!? Where did Raditz go?!" Goku said as his anger started to build up.

Everyone started to frown. They had seen no sign of Gohan or Raditz since Goku was knocked out. They were all disappointed.

"Goku we haven't seen either Gohan or Raditz since you've been knocked out. We've been trying to come up with ideas to get him back but we haven't come up with anything yet." Master Roshi said.

"WAIT, I have an idea! We could use the dragon balls to wish Gohan back here!" Bulma said to them.

"We could but the problem is if we do that Raditz will just come back here to get him again and he might kill us the next time." Krillin exclaimed.

"Oh yeah that is true. We could build a spaceship." Goku said to them.

"But we don't know where they are, or even what planet they're close to." Bulma exclaimed.

"HEY! We could use the dragon balls to find out the location of Gohan and then we could use a spaceship to go to the location of where Gohan is!" Piccolo shouted.

"That's a great idea Piccolo but why do you want to help us?" Krillin asked Piccolo.

"Fool, I don't want to help you I want revenge because Raditz almost killed somebody I should have killed... and that someone is Goku. I swear Goku when this is over I am going to kill you." Piccolo said to Goku pointing to him.

"Hey Piccolo when did you get here?" Goku asked Piccolo.

Piccolo just had a poker face moment and face palm moment.

"Goku I got here about 5 minutes ago, are you stupid or just hard of seeing?" Piccolo said to Goku.

"Well I have been knocked out cold for about half an hour so I didn't see you until now. Oh and about wanting to kill me, good luck because I'm not going down without a fight." Goku said grinning.

"Ha that's funny you don't seem to be standing or going anywhere right now." Piccolo said to him grinning about his comment.

"Guys, now is not the time to fight, we need to get to work on finding Gohan and Raditz. We have to find the dragon balls and build that spaceship." Master Roshi told them.

"Roshi the Dragon balls will at least take a year to find even with the dragon radar, we'll have to drive everywhere and that could take a while. Also I can't just build a spaceship It will take at least 5 years even with the technology we have." Bulma said making a point.

"I don't care I just want my son back as soon as possible!" Goku said standing up. He looked mad.

"Alright, let's do this. We have to start as soon as we can." Piccolo told them.

"Just please don't tell Chi chi, she'll get really mad at me for letting Gohan get kidnapped." Goku pleaded.

"Goku I don't think we can keep this a secret for 6 years, you're going to have to tell her sooner or later. I think the sooner you tell her the better it would be." Krillin said to Goku.

"I guess you're right. She will get worried and she'll find out pretty quickly anyway so I guess I'll tell her now." Goku told Krillin.

So Goku, Bulma, Krillin, Master Roshi and Piccolo got to work. Goku was going to go home and tell Chi chi about what happened to Gohan and then train for the fight. Krillin, Master Roshi and Piccolo were going to train for battle and Bulma was going to work on the spaceship and they were all going to find the dragon balls.

On Raditz's saiyan pod

Raditz was still thinking about how he was going to convince Vegeta and Nappa to train the boy. He only had about 2 hours to think about it.

"I could always say that he has potential because I've seen him fight, that would be a good lie, but they would probably know I was lying." Raditz thought to himself.

He thought to himself again for a moment. He had to say something and not make it an absolute lie or else Vegeta and Nappa would know about It.

"Damn I have to come up with something quickly. This kid is a piece of work, but it should be worth it if he becomes a strong warrior. Maybe he'll surpass Vegeta and Nappa." Raditz thought grinning.

He looked out the window trying to find some ideas and excuses for them to train the boy. There wasn't very much in space but darkness and some planets but he thought there could be something that could put an idea in his mind.

Back at Goku's house

Goku was going to tell Chi chi about the bad news, he was hoping It will go better telling her then he expects It will be.

"Chi chi I'm back from Master Roshi's." Goku told her trying to act happy.

"Oh hi Goku how was your visit?" Chi chi asked.

"Well It was pretty good except..." Goku tried to tell her about Gohan.

"Except what?" Chi chi asked him.

"Gohan was kidnapped by my brother his name is Raditz he is a saiyan which is an alien race. I don't know where Gohan is now. I tried to protect him but he knocked me out cold..." Goku said looking like he was about to cry.

Chi chi was just silent and tears started to run down her face. Gohan was gone and she knew It.

"HOW COULD YOU!?" Chi chi yelled running into Goku's arms.

Chi chi was crying in Goku's arms, he tried not to cry but there was a tear that came out of his eye.

"Chi chi it's okay, we're going to get Gohan back." Goku told Chi chi wiping her tears away.

"HOW? How are we going to get him back?!" Chi chi asked him still crying.

"We're going to get the dragon balls find out where he's located and go to where he is by a spaceship. Bulma's going to build It and we're going to bring him home. It will take a few years but we WILL get him back!" Goku yelled.

Suddenly Chi chi had a sign of hope in her eyes.

"Oh thank god!" She hugged Goku.

Chi chi was still mad at Goku but she did have some hope left in her that he was going to be alright. She was still crying but she felt a bit better knowing that there was hope for Gohan to come home...
