Maddie's Revenge

"It's been good" I reply.

"I bet it has" Minho says, his smirk widening.

"You and Galpal seem to have had a great time" Ben adds, his smirk just as wide as Minho's.

"Stop it" I threaten with a glare.

"Stop what?" Ben asks innocently.

"Stop looking at me like that" I reply.

"You like Gally" Chuck says, smiling.

"As a friend, yeah" I say, struggling to not blush.

Don't blush. Don't blush. Do. Not. Blush.

"Aww, she's blushing", Minho teases.

Oh for fucks sake.

"No I'm not" I say defensively. I can feel my cheeks heating up.

"She's definitely blushing" Frypan teases.

"No, i-it's just hot" I reply. Don't stutter, for the love of God.

"She's stuttering. How cute" Ben says, grinning.

"Mama Newt, tell them to stop bullying me" I plead to Newt, who seems to be very amused.

"Alright you shanks that's enough. Maddie's sensitive because she's in loveee" Newt teases, smirking.

"Thank yo- wait what?" I say, looking at Newt with a face full of betrayal.

So much for helping me.

"Seriously Newt, you too? I feel betrayed" I say dramatically, holding my hand to my chest.

"They're not wrong though Madeline. You like Gally" Alby says amusedly.

Oh great. The intimidating, grumpy leader is also getting a kick out of this. I thought I was his favourite.

"Wow Father Alby, I expected better from you" I say frowning.

"See, everyone can see it Maddie dear" Minho says giggling.

"Shut up. You're being loud" I whisper harshly.

"Awww are you worried your lover might hear us?"Ben teases.

"No, I'm worried that everyone might hear you idiots and then I'll be the gossip of the glade" I reply, looking around to check that no one's eavesdropping.

They all ignore me. Too busy teasing me and finding each other hilarious. If they don't shut their mouths, I'm going to shove a fork down their throats.

"Maddie and Gally, sitting in a tree" Minho starts to sing.

"Minho!" I hiss. He ignores me and the rest of our little family joins in. Even Alby?! Oh my Lord.

"K-I-S-S-I-N-G" They all sing in unison. I'm ready to drop dead now.

I look around and notice Gally looking our way, his face unreadable. Oh no. Did he hear?

"Alright, I'm done with you all" I say, grabbing my empty plate and heading for the kitchen. They all laugh as I leave. Assholes.

I think I'll use the sink to drown myself, because there's zero chance that these idiots are ever going to let this go. I wash up my plate, and get started on the pile the gladers have already started stacking up.

Gally is my friend. He is my grumpy friend, and it's normal to hang out alone with him. I do NOT have a crush on Gally. He is nice to me, maybe not to many others, but that's because they're not his friends. There's nothing wrong with him. I just enjoy our friendship. He is cute, and I enjoy his company. He's very tall and muscular, and he does have a beautiful smile. He's funny and it's hard to not get lost in his eyes.

No. That's too much. I don't like him like that. God Madeline, you don't need to talk about him like some smitten schoolgirl. Just stop thinking about him and wash the damn plates.

After 5 minutes of washing up, I hear someone enter the kitchen. I almost snap my neck when I turn my head, praying it's not Minho and Ben coming to continue their teasing.

"You didn't have to start cleaning without me Maddie" Frypan says, stacking more plates on top of his own, and heading towards me.

"Well you can take over whilst I dry up and put away to make up for it" I say with a small grin on my face.

Frypan hates washing up. He was so relieved when I ended up working with him because I almost always wash up whilst he dries. He says he hates it so much because there's always a little bit of food that ends up in the water that freaks him out when he touches it accidentally. He also hates how his hands go wrinkly from being in the water for too long.

I find his points valid, but it's hilarious how he avoids washing up like it's a griever ready to strike.

"You're evil" he says, huffing in defeat as he takes my spot to wash up the remaining plates and cutlery.

"It's payback for teasing me with the others" I reply smugly.

"That's so unfair! The others were joining in, AND it was mainly Minho and Ben who teased you" he whined, being very cautious as he puts his hands in the water.

I can't help but snicker at him trying to avoid any small bits of food that ended up in the water.

"They will get their karma too Panini, don't you worry" I say, drying and putting away the plates.

"What are you going to do?" He asks, raising a brow in curiosity.

"Thats for me to know" I reply, tapping the side of my nose.

"I'm so glad this is my punishment. I can't imagine what you're going to do to the rest of them" he says, shivering slightly at the thought.

" Minho and Ben started the teasing, so they will get their karma worst of it. I'm coming up with ideas as we speak" I say with a mischievous smirk.

"Warn me before you get them back, so I can be there to enjoy the show" he pleads.

"Of course I will Fry" I reply with a wink, causing him to laugh.

It doesn't take long to finish cleaning up the kitchen. Once I finish I say goodnight to Fry, and also advise him to stay up a little later tonight if he wants a good show. I've already come up with my Revenge on Minho and Ben, all I need is an accomplice. Lucky for me, I have the perfect candidate.

Under normal circumstances I would choose Chuck, but since he found the teasing very fun and even joined in, he doesn't deserve to be apart of this great prank. I'm hoping this prank will scare him, Newt and Alby into never teasing me again. If I'm lucky, they will be very cautious around me and get all jumpy, thinking they're my next targets.

I scan the glade, struggling to identify the person I'm looking for since it's getting dark. To my joy, I find him sitting by the fire. I jog over there, trying to contain my excitement.

"Hi Gally. How are you?" I ask, trying to act nonchalant.

He looks at me, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"I'm alright. What are you planning?" He asks.

Ok, he caught on quick. He seems to be able to read me like a book. Either that or I'm a terrible actress.

"Wow your good. I was hoping I could recruit you as my accomplice for a prank" I explain, one hand behind my back, crossing my fingers.

Please say yes. Pretty please.

"On who?" He asks, curiosity evident on his face.

"Minho and Ben" I say, biting my lip in anticipation.

Say yes, say yes, say yes.

"I thought they were your partners in crime" he says, confused.

"Well they were teasing me at dinner and I'm getting revenge" I say, not mentioning what they were teasing me about.

"So, you want me to help get revenge on dumb and dumber because they were teasing you?" He asks, his face blank.

I can't tell whether he's interested in this or not. Please be interested Galpal.

"That's right" I reply confidently.

"I'm in" he says instantly, a smile growing on his face.

HE'S IN. YES!

"Thank you!" I exclaim, wrapping my arms around his torso.

Oh shit. I'm hugging Gally. Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. What do I do?

Do I apologise? Do I run? Do I pretend to drop dead?

He tenses for a second, but hugs me back. Gally. Is. Hugging. Me. Back.

Oh. My. Lord.

Stop it. It's a friendly hug. Friends hug. Act normal.

I pull away from him, my cheeks heating up in embarrassment.

"Sorry about that" I say.

"D-don't be" he replies, stuttering slightly. I notice that the tips of his ears are red.

"Thank you for this. I have the perfect prank" I say, distracting us both from the awkward moment. Except it didn't feel that awkward, and I kinda liked being in his arms.

Shut up Madeline.

"Let's hear it then Mads" he says, eager to hear my great idea.

"So, we wait for everyone to fall asleep, and then I head to Minho's room in the homestead with a knife and wake him up, pretending to cut his hair. You do the same with Ben, they will wake up frightened and pissed and will start to chase us. We meet each other in the middle of the homestead and where the hammocks are. Minho and Ben will come up to us, and we will convince them we cut their hair in the middle of the night without them knowing. It'll totally freak them out" I explain my brilliant plan to Gally. I realise I'm talking way too fast but that's because I'm excited to get revenge. I hope he doesn't find me weird.

Gally's POV:

Madeline spends the next couple of minutes explaining her amazing prank idea. She's talking so fast I'm surprised I can understand what she's saying at all. I know it's because she's excited, and it's shucking adorable.

Oh shuck. I find Mads adorable. I can't help it. She's so kind and beautiful. She sees me for who I am, and not just the 'moody shuckface' everyone else sees me as. Her eyes are the most beautiful shade of green I have ever seen. She is so kind and warm. As soon as Chuck got here, she took him under her wing and has protected him since. She gives everyone a chance and even stopped Jacob from getting banished for what he did to her.

Even though that disgusting shank deserved it. I still want to shucking kill him.

There's not enough words to describe how amazing she is. She is the light to my darkness. She hasn't been here long, but it only took days for me to fall hard for her. I'm falling harder and harder everyday, and I can't keep it to myself anymore. I'm going to tell her soon.

Madeline's POV:

"Your plan sounds genius Mads" he says with a cute smile on his face.

"I know it is. I have a special gift when it comes to pranks and revenge" I reply proudly. Gally laughs amused at me.

"I'll go get the knives and meet you outside the homestead once everyone starts heading to bed" he says, looking excited.

"Perfect. I'll see you soon" I reply, looking just as excited as Gally.

Gally swiftly heads off to find two small knives for us to use. I sit on the log by the fire and discreetly watch the other gladers as they begin to head to bed. I see Minho head into the homestead and Ben walking towards the hammocks. Perfect.

If everything goes to plan, the others will hear the commotion and get up to watch the show.

After a couple of minutes, I see Gally jog over to me, holding up two small knives with a big grin on his face. Seeing his mischievous side is so damn cute. I'm melting.

"I've got them. Are you ready for your revenge?" He asks.

"Very ready" I reply, smirking.

"Then let's go. Ladies first" he says, gesturing for me to walk infront.

"What a gentlemen" I reply with a little giggle.

I can't believe I giggled like that.

We start walking, keeping to a slow pace to ensure Gally and Minho have had enough time to fall asleep. We split off when we get close to the homestead. Gally sends me a wink as he walks towards the hammocks.

I'm careful to close the door and creep up the stairs, trying to make as little noise as possible. I get to Minho's room and twist the handle to find the door unlocked.

What an idiot. It's like he wants someone to sneak in his room.

I sneak to his bed, placing my small knife carefully under a strand of hair I gently grab. Gally most definitely has gotten to Ben so I need to act fast.

"Oh shit. I took too much off" I scold myself, grabbing more of his hair as if I just ruined it.

Minho hears me and sits up alarmed.

"What are you doing here?" He asks completely confused.

Right Madeline. Act your ass off.

"I'm so sorry Minho. I cut too much off" I say, cringing.

"you WHAT?!" He shouts.

I bolt for the door, desperately trying not to laugh. Clearly my acting is amazing because he's totally bought it. He jumps up and I hear him chase me down the stairs. I also hear doors slam open and multiple footsteps rushing towards us, trying to find out what's going on.

As I exit the Homestead, I see Gally bolting towards me with Ben hot on his heels, looking pissed. The plan worked and I am so happy right now.

We rush towards each other and stop once we meet. Minho and Ben stop abruptly in front of us with looks of fury on their face.

"Calm down boys, we can explain" Gally says, trying not to break and drop to the floor in laughter.

"You better explain! Who cuts peoples hair in the middle of the night?" Ben asks, looking very furious.

I glance around and notice Newt, Alby, Frypan, Chuck and almost all of the other gladers standing around, waiting for an explanation.

"We do. They call us the midnight barbers" I say proudly. Gally snorts slightly, covering it up by coughing.

"That's an infringement of people's liberties!" Minho exclaims.

"Yeah. So don't ever be doing that to us again" Ben adds in agreement.

"We do it to all of you all the time" Gally says, looking at everyone.

All of their faces drain of colour.

"What?" Chuck asks, his voice small.

"Who do you think cuts your hair Einstein's?" I ask, raising a brow.

"My hair just doesn't grow very fast" Minho announces, causing many gladers to murmer in agreement.

It takes all of my willpower not to collapse and die of laughter.

"What. You think it stays that length naturally?" Gally asks, a small smirk on his face.

"We're in there in the middle of the night, styling away" I add amusedly.

"How dare you do that to us in the middle of the night, when we're oblivious" Ben says looking appalled at us.

"We do our best work when you're all oblivious" Gally replies.

"We lean you up against the pillow and we go at you" I add smugly.

"That's perverted" Minho and Ben exclaim in unsion.

Everyone looks at us scared and flabbergasted, touching their hair in worry.

Gally and I glance at eachother and immediately burst into laughter. I drop to the floor feeling weak as Gally struggles to breathe next to me.

"Was this a prank?" Newt asks, looking unsure and concerned.

"Y-yes" I struggle to say in between laughing. Gally can only not in agreement with me.

"You sneaky shuck face" Minho says, looking very relieved.

"Paybacks a bitch" I say still laughing.

"We'll down, you got us. I'm going to bed now. That's if I can actually fall asleep after this nightmare" Ben says, shaking his head and heading back towards the hammocks.

"I would say you're in trouble, but I think we deserved that. Goodnight you shanks" Alby says to us with a smile on his face, heading off to the homestead with Newt, Minho and the other keepers.

Pretty soon, everyone departs and Gally helps me up and takes me to my hut. I get to my door and unlock it.

"Thank you for helping me Gally" I say gratefully.

"Dont thank me, It's was fun and very worth it. That does mean you owe me now" he says with a cheeky grin.

"That's fair. What do I owe?" I ask smiling.

"I'll let you know when I want it" he says, looking down at me with a soft smile.

"I'm looking forward to paying my debt" I reply, staring at him for way too long.

We continue to hold eye contact with smiles on our faces. Gally starts to lean down, and I let out a small breath due to nervousness. He leans down until we're eye level. He leans forward and he kisses my cheek, before standing upright again. His cheeks are tinted pink to match mine.

"See you tomorrow Madeline" he says with a smile.

"Goodnight Gally" I reply with a wide smile.

I walk in to my hut,  shut my door and lean against it, still smiling wide and feeling very giddy.

"Lock the door, Madeline" Gally says, his tone dripping in amusement.

I bite my lip and lock the door. After a moment, I hear him walk off, heading for the Homestead.

Gally kissed my cheek. GALLY. KISSED. MY. CHEEK.

Forget what I was saying earlier. I do like Gally. I like him ALOT more than a friend. I have completely fallen for Gally and I have no regrets. The others were right, but I'm not going to admit that. I need to talk to him tomorrow. He kissed my cheek and I caught him blushing so he must feel the same way.

Although it might just be politeness. I don't care. I need to talk to him and if he likes me back great. If he doesn't, the grievers will be getting a nice meal tomorrow.

I've been planning to write my own book for months now but never had the courage to go through with it, but I've finally started writing it. I've been working planning it out and writing the first few chapters so I haven't really had the chance to upload a new chapter for this fic.
