Chapter Eleven

15:41, 2 November 2020

"Draco, I feel kind of weird." Harry called from the Slytherin bathroom. He decided to take a bath after the long Hogsmeade trip.

"What is it, love?" Draco called back. He walked into the room and gazed down at his lover.

"I don't know. My back kind of hurts..." That was the last thing he said before everything went back. He could hear Draco calling his name, but he couldn't move. His body was numb and it felt like something was ripping out of his back.

When Harry regained consciousness, he was sitting in Draco's bed at Malfoy Manor. He looked around to see his friends, Tom and Draco sitting around him. Lucius and Severus were talking to Althea, and Dudley and Petunia were at the back of the room,

"What happened?" Harry asked groggily. Draco was immediately at his side with an amazed look on his face.

"Harry, your wings are out! Look!" Harry gasped and ran to a mirror. He had beautiful black wings with emerald green tips, just like his hair and eyes. They were feathery and felt just like a blanket wrapped around him.

"Wow..." He whispered. He twisted his body to get a better look. Each wing was about half a meter and Harry knew he would have to adapt to the feel of them. He looked at his friends with a blinding smile.

"This is awesome!" He cried. Hermione nodded.

"I've been reading more about soulmates, and apparently, the wings release something that makes the dominant go crazy. Some type of pheromone." She said awkwardly. Harry blushed.

"Thanks Hermione."

While Harry and his friends were having a good time in Malfoy Manor, a certain old Wizard was plotting.

I need to get rid of Potter and Malfoy as quickly as possible. But how? Their soulmate bond makes them stronger than before! Dumbledore thought. Suddenly, he had an idea.

If one dies, then the other does too. He cast a patronus message to Ron ordering him to come to the office. Not much later, the redhead arrived.

"What is it, headmaster? Did you find a way of getting rid of Potter and Malfoy?"

Dumbledore nodded and began telling his plan.

It was night time at Malfoy Manor and Harry and Draco were sleeping, along with everybody else. Except for Morana. She was resting on a nightstand beside Harry. For some strange reason, she had a feeling that something was wrong.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a flash of red from the window. She slithered over just in time to see someone with a strange face pop away. Morana decided that she should warn her master about it.

She went over to Harry and flicked her tongue out at him. The Gryffindor woke up, but his eyes were dull. It looked as if there was no more life in him.

Harry got out of the bed and walked over to Draco's closet. He went in and came out holding a small black box. Without saying anything, he apparated away leaving Morana very confused and worried.

There was a scream from behind her. Draco started thrashing around in the sheets and was whimpering for Harry.

"Harry... No! Don't leave me!" Morana tried to wake Draco up, but it seemed as if he was in a deep

sleep that he couldn't wake up from.

Morana didn't understand the blond's words, but she knew something was wrong.

Though the Manor was full of visitors, it was very late and everyone was sleeping. She turned down a corner and arrived at Tom's guest room. She began banging her head against the door to get her mother's master.

Seconds later, Tom appeared with a scowl on his face.

You better have a reason for this, Snake. He hissed.

Master is not well! Please! Help my master!

Tom's anger disappeared and he picked Morana up. Explain.

Morana told Tom everything she saw, and how Draco was not waking up, and that Harry apparated away. I sense his sleep is unnatural.

When she was finished, Tom was running towards Draco's room, his heart pounding in his chest. Tom was relieved that Draco was still alive, but the snake was right. His sleep was unnatural.

Tom raced to Lucius's room and pounded on the door. "Lucius! Wake up! Something's wrong with Draco and Harry!"

What began to be a calm, relaxing night turned into a nightmare. Draco wasn't sure how he got there. He wasn't sure how long he was standing there. All he knew was that this wasn't a dream. It was all real.

A numbing panic filled him as he watched his mate try to fight off his attackers. His calls of help were clear, as if Harry was right beside him. But Draco couldn't move. All he could do was watch.

Harry died. Right in front of Draco's eyes. And he had done nothing. Harry was dead and the feeling of loss made it impossible for him to breath.

Harry was in his arms now, his emerald green eyes staring blankly up into the dark sky. Tears were rolling down Draco's face and onto Harry's still body. His soul wrenching sobs echoed around the valley, drowning out all other noise.

"See what you've done, Draco? You destroyed me! I loved you, but now I'm dead because of you!"

The blond lifted his head to see Harry's ghost floating above him. Draco didn't react to the nasty look on Harry's face. He could react to nothing now.

"You brought me into all of this, and now I'm dead. You stood there and did nothing!"

The ghost took Draco's silence as agreement. "You won't be joining me in death, Draco. You'll live on knowing that my death was your fault. Enjoy the pain, lover. It will only grow as time passes."

"I can't feel you," Draco whispered hoarsely. He dragged Harry's light body to his and started to cry into the blood drenched hair. "Harry, I can't feel you!"

The ghost said nothing else and disappeared. The moment it was gone, Draco knew exactly what to do. Horrid thoughts filled his mind. Visions of a future without Harry. He couldn't live without his soulmate. Even if he deserved the pain, because what Harry's ghost said was true. It was his fault Harry was dead. If the bond wouldn't do what it was supposed to but joining them once again in death, Draco would take matters in his own hands.

"Winky, go and find Harry at once!" Lucius ordered. The elf nodded and popped away.

"What the hell is going on?" Severus yelled as he, Hermione and Ginny ran up. Pansy, Blaise and Luna were following behind.

"Draco's been put in a deep sleep and Harry apparated to who knows where!"

"What does Draco keep in the black box in his closet?" Tom asked Lucius.

"It's a silver dagger. I gave it to him for his 13th birthday. It's his favorite possession. Why?" Tom paled.

"Harry took it!"

Winky came back with a horrified expression. "Master Harry is outside! Yous better hurries! He is going to hurt himself!"

"Where?!" Tom shouted. "Where is he!"

"The forest!"

A scream echoed down the hall that made Lucius's heart ache. "Draco." He turned to Tom. "Find Harry! I'll go to Draco!"

Tom apparated out with Hermione and Ginny while Lucius ran to his son, feeling nauseous by the horrible screams coming from the room. He found Severus already there trying to hold Draco down. He didn't have to ask why, Draco's yells explained everything.

"Merlin, kill me! Kill me, please! My Harry! He's gone!" Draco was trying to kick his godfather off, his eyes pale and lifeless. "I can't feel him! Harry!"

Pansy rushed in with Blaise at her side. "Have you found Harry?" She asked, panic lacing her words.

"He's outside... Merlin is there anything we can do to wake them up?!" Lucius pleaded. Tears left his eyes as Draco continued crying.

"I need Harry! Please! LET ME DIE!"
