Chapter Five
03:11, 23 August 2020Harry and Draco went immediately to Gryffindor Tower where they knew Hermione and Ginny were. They needed to tell them about the truce. Harry also needed to tell the girls about Dumbledore so they wouldn't do anything he said anymore.
"Harry! Draco! Where were you guys? You missed all the classes today!" Ginny exclaimed when she came out of the portrait. Hermione was behind her.
"We went to do something. We need to tell you something. But let's go somewhere more private. Some people might be listening." Harry whispered. The girls nodded and the four went to the Room of Requirements. They settled into the couches and Draco began talking.
"So, we went to Malfoy Manor," He began. "And the Dark Lord asked us something we would never expect."
The girls paled. "D-dark Lord?" Hermione stuttered. Harry and Draco nodded. They knew they would react this way.
"He offered to make a truce! He said that if we got his old body back, he would stop trying to kill all muggles and muggle borns! Can you believe that? We took a Wizard's Oath and..." Draco chuckled at his mate's antics as the Gryffindor continued to blabber on. To Harry and Draco's surprise, when they were finished telling the story, Hermione and Ginny were grinning.
"That's great! I know how stressed you were because of the war, Harry. And because of what Dumbledore did," Hermione heard Ginny curse at the headmaster quietly, "going to his most powerful enemy is the smartest thing to do! And with your powers from the soulmate bond, you'll be so powerful!"
Draco grinned. The girls were on their side! During the time they spent together, he found out that Hermione was stronger than he took her for. She was a driven young woman who would stop at nothing to get what she wanted. Draco had to find this out the hard way. And Ginny was always loyal to the people she trusted. And when she set her mind to something, there was no stopping her.
"So, do you want to go see Tom one day?" Harry asked, and laughed when Hermione and Ginny instantly nodded their heads.
"Oh, and Harry, you should probably go back to Gryffindor Tower tonight instead of sleeping here. Professor McGonagall has been asking about where you went, and I can't keep coming up with excuses for you." Ginny said while standing up. Hermione nodded.
"I know it's gonna be hard to sleep without Draco, but you have to try. Okay?" Harry gave a small nod, and went over to his mate for a kiss goodbye. That was Ginny and Hermione's cue to leave.
Harry and Draco shared a loving moment before pulling away. They said their goodbyes before going their separate ways, Draco to the dungeons and Harry to the Gryffindor dorms.
Harry got ready for bed. He changed out of the hoodie he was wearing and into a green Slytherin jumper Draco gave him. It was a bit too big for the brunette, but that made it even more comforting. Harry inhaled Draco's scent while climbing into bed. He curled up in the blankets before shutting his eyes. But he couldn't sleep. Not without his mate.
Draco, I can't sleep...Harry whispered.
Me neither. Can we talk for a bit? Then maybe we'll get tired and fall asleep.
Of course.
That's what they did. They talked for about an hour until Draco fell asleep. Harry sighed. He still couldn't sleep. He desperately tried for the rest of the night and only managed to get about three hours of light sleep before it was time for class.
There were dark circles under Harry's eyes when he got to the Great Hall for breakfast. He immediately searched for his mate. Harry gave a beautiful smile once he found Draco that had some of the students AND teachers blushing. Professor Sprout gasped and had to remind herself that she was looking at a student that was obviously infatuated with someone at the Slytherin table.
The smile left Draco in a trance where he could only stare at Harry. That was HIS mate, and no one else could have him. Once Draco came back to reality, he gave a smile back before going back to his breakfast.
When Harry sat down, Hermione scooted closer to him.
"How did you sleep, Harry? You don't look so well, you know?" She asked, very worried.
"I didn't get that much sleep... only about three hours." He muttered sleepily. Hermione gasped.
"You're not going to classes today. I'm going to ask Professor Snape to let you have the day off. You need to get more sleep!" She said. Harry ogled at her. If he normally skipped classes, she would kill him!
"Okay, thanks 'Mione." He said with a weak smile. She smiled at him before going to talk with Ginny.
After breakfast, Severus went up to Harry saying that he had the day off to get some rest. Hermione actually did ask him. Harry thanked the potions master before going heading back to his dorm.
"Harry! Wait up!"
Said Gryffindor spun around to see Draco jogging after him. Harry grinned and flung himself into Draco's arms.
"I missed you! Did you get the day off too?" Draco nodded.
Harry towed the blonde into a shadowed corner before pulling their lips together. Harry sagged in relief at the contact. He returned the kiss with all of his love. He wanted to stay like that forever.

"Blaise, have you noticed that Draco has been going somewhere secretly?" Pansy asked. Draco's friends, Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini were both very worried about him.
Blaise nodded. "And he hasn't been picking fights with the Gryffindorks anymore." Suddenly, an evil grin appeared on his face. "Do you think this has to do with his crush on Potter?"
Pansy smirked. "Probably. Our darling Dray's in love!" She cooed. Blaise laughed.
"Wait," she said. "Do you hear that? It's behind that corner. Let's go check it out!" She grabbed Blaise's hand and dragged him to where the sound was coming from. But they weren't ready for what they saw next.
Draco had his lips firmly attached to Potters. The Gryffindor's legs were wrapped around Draco and they were snogging heatedly. Pansy tried desperately to not squeal or giggle at the sight in front of them. Instead, she started chewing on her knuckles to stop noises from coming out. Blaise was just staring open mouthed.
But thanks to Harry's heightened werewolf senses, he could feel them there. He opened his eyes with a start and flushed a crimson red. Sensing his mate's embarrassment, Draco opened his eyes as well and saw his friends standing in behind them.
"Erm, hi guys." He said quietly. Pansy couldn't stop herself anymore. Loud squeals erupted down the empty corridor followed with many childish giggles.
Once Pansy calmed down, she began asking the couple questions just like Ginny did.
"When did you start dating?! Why is Potter such a cute werewolf?! Does anybody else know about this? Everybody! Draco and Potter are-mmph!" Draco slapped a hand over his friend's mouth before she could say anything else.
"Shut up, Pansy! We don't want anybody else to know!" He hissed. He was also blushing, but not as much as Harry.
"Alright, sorry Dray. And what do you mean by 'anybody else'?" She asked.
"Professor Snape, Lupin, Hermione and Ginny know. Oh, and also my father, my crazy aunt Bellatrix and the Dark lord." Draco muttered.
"Granger? Weaslette? Dark Lord?!" Blaise gasped. Harry and Draco nodded. They had to give the two Slytherins some time to calm down from their shock. "Does the Weasel know?" Pansy asked.
Harry and Draco stiffened at the name. Harry sniffed and raised his nose in a very Malfoy-like manner. "No, and he will never know. Not until we decide to make our relationship public." Blaise chuckled.
"You've been rubbing off on him, Draco." The blonde smirked. "So, can I ask why you're not gonna let Weasley know, Potter? He is your best mate, right?"
"Not anymore he's not." Harry told them the whole story about how Ron was homophobic and called him a freak. When he was finished, Pansy grabbed Harry into a tight hug and began ruffling his hair.
"How could anybody call such a cute child a freak?" She screeched. Harry blushed.
"I'm not a child..." Draco laughed and grabbed Harry back to his side.
For the rest of the day, Harry, Draco, Pansy and Blaise hung out in the ROR. When classes ended, Hermione and Ginny joined them. They noticed that Hermione, Pansy and Ginny were very alike and all had the same taste in things. Draco and Harry also told the two other Slytherins about Dumbledore and the Wizard's Oath they took with Tom. Pansy and Blaise were on their side and said that they never really trusted Dumbledore.
The six of them decided to play a game. Hermione had the brilliant idea to play Truth or Dare, Kiss or Swear. They got in a circle and started to play. Ginny went first.
"Okay. Harry! Truth or Dare, Kiss or Swear?" She asked with a wicked smirk. This made Harry very uncomfortable.
"Um, swear?" He asked nervously. This made the redhead's grin even wider.
"Swear that you'll mate with Draco some time this week." She smirked when both Harry and Draco blushed a furious red.
"Ginny! Are you serious?!" Harry gawked. Ginny nodded and Harry groaned. He didn't want to take his relationship with Draco too fast! And based on the look on the blonde's face, he was thinking the same thing.
"Sorry, Harry. You have to do it."
"Fine."
Pansy grinned. "My turn! Alright. Hmm. Hermione! Truth or Dare, Kiss or Swear?" She asked, knowing exactly what she would do.
"Dare! I'm no wuss!" She exclaimed.
"I dare you to go up to Weasley and give him a punch in the face, will you? Kind of like what you did with Draco in third year." Everybody except for Draco laughed. He remembered that experience clearly.
"Okay, Pansy. And I'm sorry for punching you in the face, Draco." Hermione giggled as she walked out the ROR. She would enjoy this dare very much.
She found Ronald talking with Professor Snape about his detention. Hermione froze. She couldn't punch Ronald in front of a teacher! She began walking away, but Severus saw her.
"Miss. Granger? Did you need something?" He asked, walking towards him.
"Um, it was nothing professor. I just got a dare to do something with Ronald, but it looks like you're busy. I'll just go." She squeaked. But Severus stopped her.
"Nonsense. You can do this dare. I was just about to leave." He said, walking away.
Hermione took this chance and went up to the redhead.
"Coming back to me, eh? I knew you couldn't-" Ronald was cut off when his ex-girlfriend punched him in the face. Without saying a word, Hermione ran off giggling madly. She ignored the curses being thrown at her and nearly fainted when she saw Severus around the corner smirking at her. Weasley deserved it.
When Hermione got back to the ROR, she told everyone what she did and they all burst out laughing. Draco said that his godfather hated Weasley and that he wouldn't take points for punching him in the face. This made Hermione relax. It was Blaise's turn now.
"Draco. Truth or Dare, Kiss or Swear?" He asked.
"Truth."
"Tell everybody how long you've fancied Harry for." He stated. Draco blushed, but did as he was told.
"Ever since second year..." He mumbled. Harry laughed and snuggled closer to the blonde.
They played a few more rounds before Draco noticed Harry was asleep and ordered everybody to get out of the room. Once they were alone, Draco got changed and carried Harry to bed. They fell asleep in each other's arms, not having another care in the world.
