I am sat on the sofa, upside down, watching Alastor work in silence.

"Boreddddd."

"So go do something."

"Mm...no." I sit up, "hey you make those shadow thingys for charlie all the time right?"

"Mhm."

"Can you make other things, like sayyy..ducks?"

He sighs, looking up. "I suppose, why do you ask?"

"Can you make me one?"

"If I do will you leave the room?"

I stand, "absolutely. For a duck anything!"

"..childish." He mumbles, snapping.

A little shadow duck appears in front of me.

I pick it up, "it's so cute!!"

"Out."

"I'm going, I'm going!" I take it, walking out to the lobby, spotting charlie. "Char-char!"

"Hi dad, what's that-?"

"Its a duck, alastor made it!" I hold it out, showing her with a smile. "Isn't it cute?"

"..yeah..are you guys getting along now-?"

"I suppose. Kind of." I set the duck down, it sitting beside me. "I'm being nice to him, he's still being an asshole. So, improvement."

"Oh..well that's good. I guess."

"Uh huh.."

...

I am drinking whiskey, talking with Husker as the lobby is otherwise empty.

"Your majesty, I gotta ask, how are you going to deal with that whole dared marriage?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well- you married Alastor. That says enough as is."

"I don't mind it. It's only paper without feeling. It's not like were actually together."

"Yeah? You think Lilith would think that way?"

I look down, "she isn't coming back."

"Why does Charlie text her so much then?"

"Because she doesn't know that. I would tell her, except I don't know what to tell her."

"What do you mean?"

I sip my drink, "she just packed and left. The fuck do I say? I don't know where she went. Why she left. Nothing."

He looks at me, humming.

"I waited years, questioning if she'd return. Stuck in that stupid castle. In the past. For so long. I don't think I would take her back if she did return."

"Well.. you always got me to talk to. You know. If you feel like your slipping into that again."

I take a sip of my whiskey.

Unfortunately I already am, and I don't want to talk about it because of how hard it is to trust people.After heaven..and Michael..and then Lilith..It all hurts.

I shut down for so long I missed out on so much with my daughter..And now I just want to be here for her.Even if that's hurting me.
