Arrival

This is a long one it's also my first but I hope whoever may read it will enjoy it. More information about the character will be revealed as the story progresses.

Natasha, Fury and Tony take you into a private briefing room in the compound they want to ensure you're ready truly ready to be part of this team. Your hands shake you're nervous you know this is what's best, you've been running and hiding for so long it will be a relief to feel safe and secure in a place, without feeling the need to always be looking over your shoulder waiting for them to find you and try to take you back.

"Ok," Tony says "It's now or never kid." "Are you sure you're ready Y/N" Natasha queries worried that this is all too much too soon "I promise I'm fine ready for my life to finally begin I guess" I giggle awkwardly. "Let's get out there" Fury bellows before leading the way out through the door and over to the elevator.

As we wait for the elevator Natasha grabs my hand and gives it a little squeeze which helps ease the twist in my stomach " it's all good Y/N it's all good" you state to yourself internally.

*ding* we're here in the avengers compound common room. It's so big and bright windows that stretch up the entire wall couches that look like they were crafted from clouds and designed by angels and the smell seemed so familiar but also like nothing my nostrils had ever before experienced, my feelings were in hyperdrive as were those of the people around me. I was a bag of nerves but those smiling faces that looked at me seemed to be full of joy. I felt like I knew those faces and the stories that lay behind their eyes but as for their names, they were all strangers to me. A large handsome man with sand coloured hair and eyes as blue as sapphires walks over to greet me he smiles and stretches out his hand " Hello mam I am Steve Rogers it is a pleasure to have you join our fine team. I believe you will be a remarkable asset." I smiled and gave the strongest handshake I could muster. " The pleasure is all mine sir, I'm Y/N Y/L/N."

You then see a blue flash whizz past followed by a beautiful dark haired blue-eyed woman who has skipped to your location the blue flash stopped in front of me and there stood a tall silver-haired fellow with eyes that would pierce your soul. The woman spoke with an accent in a soothing motherly tone "I'm Wanda this is my brother Pietro." She said with a smile but I felt so much more than the joy she was trying to portray I felt pain from both her and her brother so I grabbed them both into a hug, I couldn't see their faces but I could feel their confusion but after a moment it passed as well as some of their pain. " I am so so sorry that was so awkward um I'm an empath." I stated with a sense of urgency " I feel people their emotions and stuff and you guys are full of pain." I gulp "We all have pain duh but I just felt like I needed to ease some of yours I hope that was ok" "oh god I'm making things weird already and we only just met I am so sorry " the pair look at me dumbfounded and then a smile stretches across their faces "I feel lighter" Pietro chuckles " I've never had anyone manipulate my feelings before" Wanda giggles "it's not so much manipulation" I state "It's a cleanse I remove it not all as you guys have a lot sorry but I get rid of enough to make you feel nice I guess" I giggle.I turn to look at Nat, Tony and Fury all of whom are still standing behind me at the elevator entrance "Perhaps we should all take a seat before Y/N feels the need to cleanse anyone else" Tony States with an air of sarcasm in his voice.

We all congregate in the main area of the large common room "my god these couches are as comfy as I thought they would be" I thought to myself as I sunk deep into one.

We all continue to converse, although some of the questions I'm being asked I'm not ready to answer yet so Nat smoothly detours the conversation. Then as we discuss my abilities mainly the emotion cleanse (which everyone seems fascinated by) a young lad appears at the window with a slight bang, I jump almost spilling the glass of water I had been given a while before. Tony jumps from his seat to open a well-disguised glass door to let the wall climber in. "Kid you're just in time to meet the newest recruit," Tony announces. A youthful brown-haired little guy with a smile full of glee comes jogging over to introduce himself "I'm Peter" he says shaking your hand just a little too excitedly " I'm Y/N you are just the cutest little thing" I say as I squish his smiling face between my hands. "Eh thanks," he says with his cheeks now a flaming shade of red. Nat speaks up "My god Y/N you're embarrassing the poor kid with your strange ways" "oh I'm so sorry" I declare now feeling a little bad "I just don't often see such genuine happiness in people anymore and I couldn't control myself sorry Peter" he chuckles "it's OK I'm glad my smiling face made you happy I've never had anyone so excited to see it" he stated with a little tone of awkwardness in his voice.

Time passed by and we all just kept chatting Peter talked about his day in school he had a math test he thinks he may have failed, Wanda mentioned a new show she had fallen in love with, Pietro was bragging about kicking "Clints" ass in the training room I haven't met him yet but he sounds nice and of course, they wanted the full low down on my powers so I showed them a little bit of my fire control nothing too crazy just a little click of the fingers fire appears sort of thing. "Ok people" Fury proclaimed "the show is now over I think it's time you all called it a night Y/N training starts for you in the morning and you'll need to be ready. So long m******f******s" he bellowed as he marched towards the elevator and stepped in, everyone arose from their seats "almighty Fury has spoken" Stark states in a witty tone "bed for all" the kid Peter jumped up and you flung your arms around him "pleasure to meet you smiler," I said with a giggle "see you soon " Peter blushed and said "awesome to met you Y/N bye guys" before flying out the glass doors. Wanda then gave me a warm hug before heading off to her room Pietro threw his arms around me lifting me off my before speeding off in a flash of blue, Tony gave us a wink and stated "good night children Y/N it really is a joy to have you with us kiddo" before heading in the direction of the elevator.Nat, Steve and myself remain "So Y/N my little peanut" Natasha remarks "you have the joy of sharing a floor with Steve and Bucky I'm sorry there is no room on mine but Steve will keep you right" She states pointing a smile in Steve's direction before pulling me into a loving bear hug "I'm so happy to have you here" She whispers in your ear with joy in her voice, she then swiftly turns to head in the direction of her room."So we need to take the elevator" Steve declares as he leads the way "we're two floors up" "so who's bucky," I asked inquisitively "you'll meet him tomorrow he's my best friend I've known him since the 40s great guy but can take time to warm to folks " Steve proclaims I just nod and smile "we're here this is our floor" Steve mentions as we step out and walk along the brightly lit corridor. "This is your room Y/N" Steve asserts as he pushes the door open and turns on the lights. The room is perfect it's large with a window that stretches from floor to ceiling, it's painted a beautiful shade of lavender with white accents, on one end of the room there lies a large king-sized bed that similar to the couches look as though it was crafted from clouds on the other there is a chill area with a couch a television and a cute little bucket armchair. I walk further in to get a better look I see two doors the first I open to reveal a huge walk-in wardrobe full to the brim with clothing and footwear and the other hides a stunning white bathroom with a tub you could swim in and a shower and I would want to live in. "Holy shit" I accidentally let slip out "language," Steve says before letting out a hearty laugh "Well miss Y/N will it do" "my god yes it's perfect I love it thank you so much" I exclaim joyfully before running over to hug Steve " it's nothing" he states as he hugs you back "now," he says as he releases you "you will have a busy day tomorrow so you need your rest sweet dreams kid once again pleasure to have you onboard" he smiles and walks out the door shutting it behind him.

You go and drop yourself onto the bed feeling overwhelmed with a mix of emotions, you pinch yourself to make sure you're not dreaming. This is it Y/N you're finally home.
