Is this all fine?

04:59, 18 January 2025

After learning the full truth, NJ couldn't keep quiet anymore. His concern for Jin grew stronger, and he found himself researching everything he could about Jin's father, and his whereabouts and how that history had affected Jin.

He also dove into the world of sleep apnea, determined to find ways to help Jin manage his condition better.

NJ was doing everything he could to make sure Jin would be happy and safe—things he hadn't been able to provide for himself before, let alone for others.

As his care for Jin deepened, NJ became more affectionate, more present. He was doing things he'd always resisted, things that showed just how much he cared.

NJ's kindness wasn't limited to Jin alone. He started treating Tae better too, showing him the same warmth and respect he hadn't always given. Whether it was sharing a meal together or simply listening to Tae, NJ was growing closer to everyone around him.

But despite all these changes, NJ still kept quiet about his relationship status with Jin. He refused to talk about it, even though his actions seemed to speak volumes.

NJ had never been one to define things, especially not with Jin. Jin noticed the changes. He couldn't help it. NJ was suddenly more thoughtful, more affectionate. There were moments when NJ would go out of his way to make Jin smile, doing things he'd never done before.

Jin was confused at first—why was NJ acting like this when they weren't even in a relationship?

Sometimes it seemed like NJ cared more than a friend should, but other times, he'd pull back and act like nothing was different.Jin tried to figure it out, but every time he gathered the courage to ask NJ about their relationship, NJ would quickly change the subject.

This left Jin feeling more confused than ever. Whenever someone else would ask NJ about his love life, he'd always deny being in a relationship, brushing it off with a smile and a joke.

Jin didn't understand the meaning of any of it, and after a while, he stopped asking. It was easier that way. Months passed, and a year had gone by. Jin and NJ's relationship remained the same—sweet, affectionate, but never defined.

They still shared moments of closeness, but it was always clear there was something unspoken between them. Jin had long stopped trying to get answers from NJ. The uncertainty became a part of their dynamic. But despite the lack of clarity, Jin couldn't deny that he enjoyed the moments they shared.

Their company was growing, their business was doing well, and their home life felt stable.

Tae, meanwhile, had become a permanent employee at the company. He and Jungkook had been together for about two months now, their relationship progressing steadily. It was a little different from Jin and NJ's situation, clear and straightforward.

Hobi and Lisa were still flirting, but nothing had changed on that front either. The dynamics of their relationships seemed to remain in a constant state of flux.

Now, it was Jin's birthday. NJ had planned a private celebration at their apartment—a quiet night just for the two of them. No one else would be there.

He wanted to make the evening special for Jin, to show him that he was loved and appreciated in his own way. NJ didn't need anyone else to be involved.

This was between them—just like everything else they had shared. The apartment was quietly lit, candles scattered around the living room, casting soft shadows across the room. The scent of Jin's favorite food filled the air.

NJ had taken care of every detail, making sure everything was just right. And as Jin walked into the room, he smiled, appreciating the effort.

It was moments like this that made him forget about the questions that had been building up in his heart.

For tonight, it was enough. But deep down, both NJ and Jin knew that the silence surrounding their relationship wasn't something that could last forever. After the quiet and intimate meal, Jin went to fresh up.

Jin stepped out of the bathroom, ready to change the bedsheets. As he walked toward the laundry room, he noticed that NJ's office door was slightly ajar.

NJ was a private person, especially when it came to that office. He rarely allowed anyone inside, not even Jin. Jin understood that well, so he never pushed the boundaries.

But as he neared the room to close the door, something caught his attention. A soft light flickered from within.

Curious, Jin stepped inside. There, on the desk, was a phone—NJ's phone, he assumed.

"Whose phone is this?"

Jin muttered to himself. Without thinking much of it, he unlocked the phone. A message popped up on the screen:

"Mr. Kim Namjoon, xxx Mental Institution room fee has been paid. Kindly provide us with a heads-up before the week is out. Thank you."

Jin froze. His heart skipped a beat.

What was this about? Why did NJ have two phones? And why was there a message about a mental institution?

He tried to brush the thoughts aside, telling himself it wasn't his place to question NJ. But his mind raced. The unease lingered.

Before he left, something else caught his eye. A book lay on the desk, its title in bold letters: Sleep Apnea and Its Connection to Mental Health.

Jin's gaze lingered on the title for a long moment. As he picked it up, he noticed there were several more books on the same topic—about sleep apnea, nightmares, and the potential effects on mental health.

A knot tightened in Jin's stomach.

He was overthinking things. He had to. He couldn't let his imagination run wild.

But still, the questions lingered. Jin heard footsteps outside the office. Panic set in. He quickly shut the books and put the phone back where it had been.

He walked briskly back to their bedroom.NJ was there, waiting with a soft smile. Jin's chest tightened as he met NJ's eyes.

He forced a smile in return, but it didn't reach his heart. He climbed into bed, trying to settle himself, but no matter how much he closed his eyes, the peace wouldn't come.

NJ, sensing his restlessness, pulled him into his usual embrace. Jin laid still in his arms, but his mind couldn't stop racing.

No matter how much NJ tried to comfort him, the uneasy feeling gnawed at him. His heart felt heavy, though his face remained unreadable.

Days passed, and Jin's silence became more obvious.

He wanted to talk to NJ about the message, the books, the strange feeling in his chest, but the words never came.

The more he kept quiet, the more NJ sensed something was wrong.NJ tried asking him several times if everything was okay, but Jin kept it hidden.

He forced himself to act like nothing had changed.
