I have your soul ?
09:31, 29 December 2024Tae's eardrums rang from the force of Jin's scream. His eyes snapped open, heart racing as he tried to process what was happening.
Jin: Who are you?
Tae rubbed his temples, still groggy from sleep, but the panic in Jin's voice cut through his confusion.
Tae: What the hell, hyung?
Jin sat up, frantically looking around the unfamiliar room. His eyes darted from corner to corner before settling on a photo on the nightstand. His breath caught as he reached for it. The picture showed two young men, smiling and posing—Jin and Tae.
Jin: Jin?
He muttered under his breath, his gaze shifting to the unfamiliar room around him.
Is this... Jin's house?
He stood up suddenly, almost tripping over his own legs.
Where is he?
How did I end up here?
His confusion only deepened as he began searching the room, looking for any sign of answers, but everything felt like a haze. Tae watched in stunned silence, unable to make sense of his brother's panic.
Tae: Hyung, are you okay?
Jin ignored him, his mind racing. He grabbed his jacket, his hands trembling as he tried to gather himself.
Jin: What?
His voice faltered, growing frantic. I have to leave. I can't be here.
Jin tried to step toward the door, but his movement froze when he caught his reflection in the glass of the door. His eyes widened, a mixture of disbelief and horror flooding his face.
Jin: Whaaaatttttttttt??
He stumbled back, his hand instinctively going to his neck, where the faint memory of last night's actions started to flood his mind. Panic overtook him as he stared at the person in the reflection—his face was different, almost... familiar.
He looked disoriented, as if he was seeing himself for the first time.
- NJ's Apartment -
The same chaos that had unfolded earlier continued to swirl in the apartment.
NJ sat on the sofa, his head in his hands as the weight of the situation began to settle in. He stared down at his—NJ's—hands, disbelief still gripping him.
Their souls had been exchanged. Jin was trapped in NJ's body, and NJ, somehow, was now in his.
The entire reality of it was beyond comprehension. Jin had tried the door a dozen times.
Locked.
He had no idea what the password was, and no way of getting out. The silence in the apartment was suffocating, broken only by the occasional creak of the building settling. He sat there in frustration, waiting.
Suddenly, a beep sounded from the door, followed by the soft click of the lock.
Jin: Welcome.
The door swung open, and NJ stepped inside—his body, but Jin's face. His expression was a mixture of confusion, anger, and disbelief.
NJ: What the hell happened? How and... what the hell?
Jin let out a sharp, bitter laugh, the sound almost hollow in the silence. He met NJ's—his own—confused eyes with cold detachment.
Jin: You might blame this on me too, but honestly, I have no fucking idea what happened.
NJ: What? I didn't...
Jin: Cut the shit.
He stood up abruptly, frustration boiling over. I don't have anything to say to you. The question is—what the hell are we supposed to do now? NJ stood frozen, his body tense with anger and disbelief. He looked at Jin—the other him—and for a moment, neither knew what to say.
NJ: I have no idea either...
He ran a hand through his hair, pacing a little, still trying to wrap his mind around the impossible situation. I can't believe this is happening...They both stood there for a long moment, the weight of their swapped lives sinking in. Neither of them had a plan, and neither could understand how they had ended up here.
Jin: Yeah... neither can I. But we need to figure it out.
Jin had been silent for what felt like an eternity, his mind racing in the chaos of their swapped bodies. The room was heavy with the absence of sound, the air thick with unspoken frustration.
30 minutes later...
Suddenly, the silence shattered as NJ, unable to contain himself any longer, threw a glass against the wall. It shattered with a deafening crash. He stood there, eyes wild with anger.
NJ: What the hell? What are we supposed to do now?! Why the fuck are you so quiet?!
Jin, still seated on the couch, looked up at him. There was no fear in his eyes, just a calm resolve. He knew the rage NJ was hiding had more to do with his own helplessness than anything Jin had done.
Jin: He hates me this much, doesn't he? His voice was a low, almost hollow murmur.
That's why he's screaming like this. NJ turned away, his fists clenched. He was furious, but the frustration was bubbling over with no outlet. Jin's words didn't reach him immediately—his mind was still a storm of anger and confusion.
Jin: Open the door. I want to call my brother, inform him of everything that's going on.
NJ shot a sharp glare at Jin, his tone suddenly icy.
NJ: You want to freak everyone out? He laughed bitterly, shaking his head. If word of this gets out, it'll cause nothing but chaos. My business, my image—it'll all come crashing down. I can't... I won't let that happen.
Jin stood up, a cold calm settling over him as he walked toward the door. His words were measured, unwavering.
Jin: Stop. It's not all about you. He paused, looking NJ dead in the eye, his voice firm and resolute. I have a life and I had people I trusted, and I need to speak to my brother. I'm not asking for your permission. I'll make sure this never gets out, but I need to talk to them.
NJ: Them?! I'm coming with you!
Jin raised an eyebrow, completely unfazed by NJ's sudden outburst.
Jin: Wae? Why the hell do you want to come?
NJ: Because I know you're going to freak them out, I just can't let them think NJ's lost his mind. You're walking around with my face, for god's sake!
Jin's expression softened for a moment as he processed NJ's words. The absurdity of the situation was starting to sink in. Still, his patience was wearing thin.
Jin: Fine, whatever.
He threw his hands up in frustration.
Jin: It's easier to explain with you here anyway. Let's go.
NJ nodded curtly, his face still a mixture of irritation and anxiety. They both knew this was the only way forward—even if neither of them was ready to face the mess they'd created.
With a last glance at the apartment, Jin turned, ready to face the chaos with NJ in tow.
- Time Skipped -
-Jin's Apartment -
The door swung open, and Tae rushed out, his face pale with worry. He practically shoved the door open, a sense of relief mixed with panic in his eyes.
Tae: Hyung! You scared me to death. Where the hell did you go? Are you okay?!
Jin: Taehyunga... Hyung is here.
Tae's eyes widened, and his confusion only deepened as he saw the unfamiliar body standing beside Jin—NJ, in Jin's body.
His mind was struggling to make sense of it, but his concern for Jin came first.
Tae: Mr. NJ!
His voice was laced with confusion.
Tae : Come in and have a seat.
Jin quickly gestured to Tae, trying to regain control of the situation.
Jin: Tae, I need you to listen to me, okay? Just stay calm.
Tae's brow furrowed, but he nodded, his concern over Jin outweighing his questions. Jin and NJ began explaining everything—how their souls had swapped bodies, the confusion, the panic, and the twisted reality they now faced. As they spoke, Tae's face grew more and more incredulous, his eyes widening in disbelief.
They dialed Jimin's number, hoping he would believe their impossible story. When Jimin arrived and heard the explanation, his reaction mirrored Tae's—complete shock.
Jin did his best to make the story believable, explaining every detail, but NJ, still in Jin's body, remained silent, his stoic presence adding to the tension.
Jin could feel the weight of NJ's silence, but he kept pushing forward. After a long pause, Jimin stood up slowly, his eyes not leaving Jin.
Jimin: I believe you, Jinshii.
His voice was calm but filled with conviction.
Tae shot him a puzzled look, still trying to wrap his head around everything.
Tae: But how? How can you be so sure?
Jimin's gaze shifted to NJ, still standing motionless beside Jin. He took a deep breath before answering, his tone steady.
Jimin: I don't know how or why this happened, but... He looked back at Jin with a knowing look. I don't know about NJ's story, but I know my boss. I know the way he acts, his behavior, his...peak moments. He paused, his gaze softening as he looked at Jin's face—NJ's face. And that's coming from Jin's body. I can see Jin in NJ. That's why... maybe it's true.
Tae and Jin exchanged a long, silent look, both trying to understand what Jimin had just said. There was a strange comfort in Jimin's words, though they all knew the road ahead was going to be far from simple.
Jin: Tae, you know me better than anyone. You have to believe me... His voice cracked, and tears welled in his eyes. You know who I am.
Tae: Hyung... I believe you. What should we do now?
Before Jin could respond, NJ, still in Jin's body, interrupted.
NJ: Sorry to interrupt, he said, his voice colder than usual. But Jin, today we have an important meeting. You should attend it.
Jin, Tae, and Jimin were stunned.
Jin, Tae, Jimin: WHAT?!
Jin: What is going on? What are you thinking?
NJ: I'm sorry, I know we're in the middle of a mess, he said, his voice steady. But this is my business, and I cannot afford to lose everything because of this. Jin, you know it. He paused, meeting Jin's eyes. Think about it.
Jin stared at NJ for a long moment, his mind racing.
Jin: Alright... He took a deep breath, wiping away the tears. We'll go to the meeting. But after that, we'll figure this out.
Jimin: Hyung, my mother is always into spiritual stuff. Let me call her and ask about your situation. We might find some hope.
NJ: I don't know... he muttered, anxiety creeping into his voice. I'm worried. If this gets out...
Jimin: Don't worry, sir. We'll make sure this stays between us. No one will find out.
NJ: Okay...
He sighed, frustration still visible.
NJ: Jinshii, let's go to my penthouse first.
Tae: WHAT? WHERE ARE YOU TAKING HIM?
Jin: Calm down, Tae. His stuff's all at his place. How am I supposed to get dressed?
Tae: Then he'll have to dress here.
NJ: Why don't you both just move in with me?
Jin: What?! No way. the disbelief clear in his voice

Jin, though still in NJ's body, had regained his sense of professionalism. He quickly gathered some of NJ's clothes and changed in the apartment. The awkwardness of their new reality loomed over him, but he pushed it aside, focusing on what had to be done. They made their way to NJ's office, and the meeting, as always, was a success.
Jin's sharp, professional demeanor cut through the room, leaving no doubt that he was in control. The meeting ended smoothly, and as the room emptied, Jin shot a cold, hard glare at NJ. Without a word, he turned and walked out of the room, his silence cutting deeper than any words ever could.
NJ: What the hell? Did he just ignore me?
