3: Who Are You?

20:00, 23 May 2020

"Please. Haesoo, remember me" Jimin pleads. It took long for him before he released himself from the hug. We fell in silence but I didn't let it last and broke it.

"Do you really know me? I'm really curious" I confessed. He nodded his head innocently. "If you do, then answer every questions I'll ask" I added while crossing my arms and giving him a look.

"Okay, you can start now" he said as he leant onto the big organ waiting for my questions.

"So, what's the basic details you know about me?" I asked walking around the room to avoid his gazes.

"Your name is Jin Haesoo. You are born on 22nd of December 1998 in Busan. You are Im Jiyoo and Jin Daeyoung's only daughter" hearing his answers made me gasped as I stopped taking steps.

"Don't tell me you've been stalking me?" I asked pointing at him as also a sign of warning.

He widened his eyes. "No!" he answered right away as if he knew what I was about to ask him.

"Then who are you?"

"Just ask other questions and you will find out who really I am in your life"

"In my life?" This time I pointed on myself. He nodded his head while he silently tap the wooden instrument with his fingertips. "Then what's my personality?" I add.

"You're such a girl who hides everything from everyone. You're so shy and introverted. You're intuitive, you're always carried away with your feeling. In terms of planning, you judge first. You're also turbulent in decision makings but despite all of that, for me you're too cute" he said as his ears turned into reddish hue.

Realizing what he said on the last part made me blush. But I never gave him a chance to see my cheeks.

"You are always lonely, you're so tiny and clumsy, you're kind and intelligent. And you also love kids" he was so careful on how he describe me and it's just making me blush even more. "And also, you left Busan to study in Seoul" he adds.

We didn't noticed the time not until I opened my phone to check it and soon ran away after realizing we were already late. Even if I ran, I still failed. I didn't even anticipated Jimin to be with the same tracks as mine when we reached the classroom's door.

The professor's discussion was interrupted when he saw us, even the whole department were also looking. I apologized for being late and thankfully he accepted it.

As soon as I reached my seat, Xiaoyou asked me. "Why are you with him?" she points at Jimin.

"No, he's not with me. He's late too. It's just a coincidence that we reached the room together" I lied and I was glad that she bought with it.

While watching the slides of the discussion, Jimin sticked a note above my desk and it contains a letter.

'Let's meet at the rooftop after class'

Without looking at him, I mumbled a 'no' but then he sticked another letter.

'Do you want to know what happened to you when you left Busan?'

He was so convincing and irresistible at the same time so I just sighed in defeat.

"Haesoo, I gotta go now" Xiaoyou mumbled while fixing her things inside her tote bag.

"Wait up, I'll go with you" I uttered but she gave me a pout.

"Sorry, but I ain't going home. Xiaoyou is needed in Shanghai tomorrow" she said and made me stare at her in curiosity. "I need to help my mom for a week. I can't just slip off our tradition. I already filed my absence. Don't worry, I will be back soon" she assures me with a smile.

"I will miss you. Don't leave me. You know I'm lonely" I muttered with a pout.

"Dummy, Jimin is there" she said and grinned at me.

"No, he isn't my friend" I stated with my eyes rolled in annoyance.

"Aigoo this kid. I gotta go now, just don't forget to give me a call, alright?" I nodded in defeat and we bid our goodbyes to each other.

I was walking in the hallways filled with students when I felt someone grabbed me upstairs. Recognizing the gestures, I knew who it was.

Jimin opened the door as we arrived at the rooftop. We were welcomed by the tangerine hue of the sky combining with blue colors as it gave me a pleasing moment. It was so calming that it cleared my thoughts away.

"Haesoo-yah" Jimin broke the moment as his soft voice called out my name giving me the feeling of being fluttered out of nowhere. I hummed as a response without laying my gazes on him.

"Do you still remember your middle school days?" he asked. I heaved a long sigh and walked over on the railings and leaned myself on it.

"I could still clearly remember those days. I doesn't have any friend at all and no one dared to talk to me" I said.

"You're wrong" he mumbled and it made me avert my stares from the sky to him. He flashed a bittersweet smile. "You have a what you call a best friend, Haesoo. He was always with you ever since and you often remark him as the best boy"

"I told you, Jimin. If you'll ask me again, I am not really the Haesoo you're talking about. Maybe it's just a coincidence that we have the same name, features or even the personality" I protested.

"Haesoo, that's not possible" he uttered with a chuckle but it changed into a serious one when he looked at me with sad eyes. "I guess, your mom never told you about what happened before you left Busan"

In a moment, I was left dumbfounded as the thought of me leaving Busan without any clear reasons crossed my mind. I don't even remember how I actually went here.

"It's been years and I think it's the right time for you to know what's the truth. You lost your memory----- of me" I didn't have a chance to protest when my phone suddenly rung. Glancing at the caller ID, it was my mom.

"Sweetie, it's time to go home right? Now where are you at this minute?" she asked and I looked at my wrist watch.

"Don't worry, Eomma. I'm still around the campus just finishing up something. I'm on my way now"

"Okay, just go home right away. It's too dangerous for young one like you to walk out this hour" I sighed and unconsciously nodded my head. She ended the call as I immediately put my phone back ready to leave the place.

"Sorry but I have to go" I mumbled and was about to take my steps when he held my wrist.

"Wait. Just a moment please?" he pleads and I gave him a nod. "Do you remember the time you were involved in an accident?" his tone was so dolorous and it his face express how sad he was.

"Y-yes. How did you know that?" I asked with full of curiosity. He held my hand so tight as if I was about to go.

"You were with me" he confessed.

"If that's the case, then why did I forgot about you? only you and no one else?"

"I don't think it's my position to say these things. Now you can go. And if you really wanted to know, just ask your mom" he looked away but I whined.

"Wait. I really don't understand what you were trying to impose. Can't you just tell me now?" I asked but he shook his head.

"Don't insist. Your mom might be waiting for you" he said. I rolled my eyes and stomped my feet, walking away from him.

I was startled when all of a sudden, he held my hand as we both walked downstairs together.

"I'll drive you home" he insists. I yanked his hands away as my response.

"No, thanks for the concern but I am old enough to manage myself" I walk pass by him but he still dragged me inside his car.

"Wether you like it or not, you will still come with me. It's already dark for you to walk around the street without company"

The whole ride was just silent until we arrived. I never told him my address yet he sent me right on my destination.

"Wait. How'd you know where I live?" I asked out of nowhere while unbuckling my seatbelt.

"You're stupid but I never anticipated you to be this stupid. Ofcourse I saw it on your ID" he sarcastically said as he hopped out and ran on my side to open the door for me.

"What are you doing?" I asked as soon as he opened the door. "I can manage myself so just back off and leave" I mocked. He blocked my way and gave me a grin.

"Let me walk you to the door" he flashed his cute eye smile as his eyes were pleading me.

"You can't. My mom might mistaken you as my----- nevermind. I'll just walk by myself. It's just feet away though" I hopped out and pushed him in the side.

He still insisted as if he never heard my words. He assures to see me walk inside but to my surprise Mom was waiting outside.

Her eyes went wide as soon as her stares drift to the boy beside me. I never heard her squeal like this but she just did. He walked over to the boy as she gave him a hug.

"Oh! Jimin-ah" she mutters.

"Wait? You know him?" I asked interrupting their moment. But seems like I was just an air, existing but never noticed.

"It's nice to see you again Mrs. Im. It's been years" Jimin said as he gave her a bow.

She scanned his features as she pinched his chubby cheeks. "You've grown up! You became more handsome! I can't believe I saw you again" she said and Jimin gave a slight chuckle.

"Sorry Mrs. Im but I think I have to go now" he politely bowed again and then averted his gazes on me. "See you tomorrow, Haesoo" he adds and flashed a smile again.

"Thank you for sending her home. Don't forget to visit me here, okay?" she asked as he gave a nod.

As soon as he left and drove away, I gave mom a look. "Eomma, we have to talk"
