𝐘/𝐍 awoke to her mother, Jadis or The White Witch, poking her side with the bottom of her cane. Jadis hated being within 5 feet of her daughter let alone touching her. Jadis was always distant with her daughter, the only reason she kept her was so she could have a helping hand.
Y/n groaned and sat up rubbing her eyes. Jadis rolled her eyes and huffed in disappointment.
"Ugh, for god's sake Y/n. Get dressed already, I have many jobs for you today."
"Yes, Mother." Y/n replied while bowing as her mother stomped out of her room, with her little dwarf following behind her like a lost puppy. Y/n's room wasn't the biggest but she was still grateful for what she had, it was about 80 square feet and of course all of her furniture was made of ice, So it was freezing and Y/n was already dressed in piles and piles of clothes to keep herself warm.
Y/n reluctantly got up and put on her dressing gown. She walked over to her wardrobe where, of course, all her clothes were frozen in place, she chose the clothes she wanted and placed her hand onto the ice to melt it. Her clothes then ended up wet so she placed them on her bed and blew them dry. It was an effort to get ready in the morning but it was what she was used too and the only thing she knew. After she got dressed and brushed her hair, Y/n rushed downstairs to the main room where her mother, Jadis, was sitting on her own ice throne surrounded by wolves which were like her bodyguards. Y/n walked into the room bracing herself for whatever awful job her mother was going to give her.
"Ah, there she is. Finally." Jadis chuckled which made Y/n even more nervous. She walked in front of the throne and bowed. The wolves circled around her as a way to trap her in, just in case she disagrees with anything her mother had to say. "Now, my dear. Your job today is like any other day but...bigger"
"What do you mean, your majesty?" Y/n asked confused and Jadis smirked, she knew she was planning something and it made her nervous. The White Witch always had this plan to take over Narnia and rule it as her own but with barely anyone on her side, Jadis had to made some...adjustments. She used Y/n to lure the creatures of Narnia into Jadis's palace and from there she would make Y/n torture them until they decided to join her side and god forbid they said no, that's when Jadis stepped in and used her cane to turn the creatures into stone.
"Today, I need you to lure another type of creature, one we have control off but we don't exactly have them on our side." Y/n was confused, she thought every creature that ever existed in Narnia was with Jadis, except the ones with Aslan which were impossible to persuade so the only ones that weren't on either side was...oh no. Please. Please. Don't say it. "The faun's". Oh crap. Y/n had only one best friend in Narnia and she was in fact a Faun. Y/n bit her lip nervously and went to protest against it but her mother gave her a stern look and she immediately retracted back.
"Now, the wolves will assist you on your journey to make sure you don't...loose track." Y/n sighed, the wolves have never gone with her before, so why now? Y/n nodded and bowed to her mother. The wolves escorted her out the palace but just as she got to the door, her mother called to her. "Y/n!".
"Yes, mother?" Hoping she'll take back what she said and leave the poor Faun's alone.
"Don't mess this up!" She said sternly, Y/n gave a weak smile and turned around. "And...we've talked about you calling me mother." Y/n didn't turn around she just took a deep breath and carried on walking. As Y/n got to the carriage the wolves took her across the frozen river and towards the forest, her heart began beating faster and faster. She prayed that they wouldn't find her best friend or anyone to be honest.
"We're here." One wolf said, his voice was deep and he had one large scar across his eye. He was the leader of the wolves and he was Jadis's most devoted follower so naturally he didn't like Y/n. She hopped off the carriage and walked through the forest with the wolves close behind. They heard some movement in the distant and Y/n tried to distract the wolves by coughing and walking in the other direction.
"Don't try and mislead us, Y/n. We heard it, this way boys." The deep-voiced wolf ordered and Y/n huffed while reluctantly following the wolves deeper into the forest. Again sounds of movement were heard and the wolf looked back at Y/n who gave him a pleading look and all he did was smirk and jump out in front of whatever was making that sound. Someone screamed and it was a female voice.
"What are you doing out her all by yourself?" The wolf asked. Y/n stayed hiding behind a tree, she didn't want to know who's life she was about to ruin.
"Um, nothing ." The creature laughed nervously, Y/n could recognise that voice anywhere, it was the one person she prayed wouldn't be here. It was her best friend.
"You look lost, I think you better come back with us, sweetheart." The wolf suggested. Y/n shook her head frantically still hiding behind a tree, a single tear fell from her eye.
"No, I'll be fine thank you." The wolves growled and jumped closer making her scream.
"No, we insist" The wolves started circling her and Y/n knew that the wolves will use force if they had to. Y/n took a deep breath and whispered under her breath 'I'm sorry' before stepping out to where she could now fully see it was her best friend.
"Stand down, wolves she's my prisoner." Y/n said firmly and the wolves smirked. The faun looked hurt and confused, she stepped towards Y/n who was staring at her blankly like she was a stranger.
"Y/n..." That was the only word she could say, she didn't believe her best friend would do this to her.
"You better come back with us, Faun." Y/n motioned towards the carriage and with the wolves behind her she got onto the carriage. The wolves started to take her back to the palace. The faun leaned over and whispered to Y/n.
"What are you doing?" Y/n shushed her to be quieter and gives her a pleading look to say sorry.
"I have no choice." She whispered back and the faun just sunk into the chair and Y/n clenches her jaw and holds back the tears in her eyes. When they got back to the palace Y/n grabbed the Faun's arm and dragged her inside with the wolves ahead. Jadis jumped up at the sight of the Faun, then frowned.
"Only one?" She asked disappointed.
"We could only find one, your majesty." The wolf spoke and bowed in apology to Jadis. She walked up to the Faun and pushed her onto the ground, Y/n tried to stay still.
"Where are the others, Faun?" Jadis asked. The Faun just looked at the ground and stayed silent, Jadis huffed and turned towards me motioning towards the Faun, implying that she wanted me to do something. Y/n held her breath and pointed her hand towards the Faun and started turning it slightly which was choking the Faun.
"I will not ask again. Where are the others!" Jadis shouted, the Faun looked at Y/n and she nodded to persuade her to tell Jadis the truth. Y/n began to turn her hand the other way to give the Faun some air.
"They - all joined...Aslan." The Faun said and Y/n lowered her hand making the Faun start coughing frantically for air. Jadis got angry and started pacing back and forth, she suddenly stopped and moved towards the Faun, Y/n grew more nervous and edged towards the both of them.
"Then I guess you are of no use to me." Jadis said blankly and raised her cane, Y/n panicked and stepped in front of the Faun.
"Wait! Maybe she could be. Do we really need to kill her?" Y/n pleaded but this only made Jadis more angry she lowered her cane and raised her eyebrows.
"Yes we do, and I think I have my next job for you Y/n" Y/n and the Faun looked at each other in desperation. "Kill her"
Y/n's eyes widened at The White Witches words. She's never had to kill anyone before it was always Jadis, especially her best friend. Y/n shook her head frantically. "No!" She shouted. Jadis was taken aback and the wolves growled stepping towards her.
"Deal with them" Jadis ordered the wolves while walking off towards another part of the palace. The wolves came closer and the Faun grabbed onto Y/n's dress. One wolf bit the Faun and she screamed, Y/n threw the wolf back making him hit the wall unconscious. This made the other wolves furious and they came closer and closer. Y/n started to panic and her heart was beating out of her chest, she was finding it difficult to breath.
"S-s-stop" She stuttered. The wolves growled and bared there teeth towards her.
"You don't want to do this, little girl" One wolf remarked. Y/n stepped further back until she couldn't anymore, she was cornered with her best friend. Y/n's vision became blurry and she started to become dizzy. She heard a scream from the Faun again and that was the last straw.
"GET AWAY!" Y/n screamed and within a second a flash of light beamed across the room making the wolves fling across the room, dead. Y/n calmed down when everything became silent.
"We did it!" Y/n exclaimed, looking behind her but she didn't see her best friend smiling with her, she saw her lying on the ground unconscious. Y/n flopped to the ground picking up the Faun and placing her onto her lap.
"No, no, no, you're just pranking me right?" Y/n joked but no response, the fear in Y/n's heart grew more and more with each silent second. Tears started to stream down her face and she burst out crying holding her best friend to her chest.
"I'm sorry! I'm so so sorry! This is all my fault." Those were the only words Y/n could manage to say. She laid there crying with her best friend in her arms, dead. Jadis ran into the room and gasped "What have you done!" She screamed, Y/n just looked at Jadis with pure hatred in her eyes and within a second she ran out of the door. She used her hands to create a sleigh and jumped in while pushing herself along the frozen river. When she looked back she saw the deep-voiced wolf chasing after her.
Y/n jumped off the sleigh and ran for her life through the forest, she could hear the wolves howls getting louder and louder she looked back but didn't see anything, then in an instant she bumped into someone and fell onto the snow. She looked up with her puffy red eyes and saw Aslan looking back at her.
"Help me." She pleaded and Aslan without a word bent down for Y/n to get onto his back, she did so and Aslan sped off towards his camp. When they arrived Aslan walked slowly through the camp and all different creatures gathered round to stare at Jadis's accomplice. Y/n put her head down in shame. When they got to the tent she jumped of Aslan's back and bowed.
"Thank you. I just need to stay here until the wolf stops looking for me then I will be on my way." Aslan shook his head which made Y/n confused.
"No, dear one. It is much too dangerous out there." He warned, Y/n chuckled.
"I think I can handle myself."
"No! If you leave were will you go? Back to Jadis? To torture poor innocent creatures?-" That one struck a nerve. "Or stay here, where you are protected, fed, trained-" Y/n began to laugh and she turned around to walk out the door. "And loved." This made her stop in her tracks, her whole life she's only ever wanted to be loved and accepted by her mother. Y/n turned to face Aslan.
"They all hate me though, don't they?" Y/n asked.
"They just don't know you."
"Neither do you"
"I know you're a smart girl, who is strong-willed and brave. A girl who can be...a leader. Protector of Narnia." This caught Y/n's attention and Aslan smiled, he brought her out of the tent and called everyone to gather around, she stood nervously beside Aslan and the other creatures where whispering and chattering amongst themselves.
"This is Y/n! She has come from Jadis's palace!-" All the creatures started chattering again and Y/n began to step back. "QUIET!-" Aslan shouted and the whole crowd went silent. "She was brave enough to leave her torturous palace and join here. I hope we can all show her the love and protection we've shown each other. For she is now, A princess and the protector of Narnia!" Y/n was shocked by being called a Princess and the whole crowd started cheering, this made Y/n smile softly, she looked to Aslan who nodded as if to say 'you're welcome'. The whole crowd bowed to her and she felt a sort of peace rush over her body. Just then Aslan brought a centaur to the stage and he bowed to Y/n who did the same in return.
"Princess, I would like you too meet Oreius. Lead warrior of Narnia." Y/n smiled at the centaur and curtsied.
"Very nice to meet you, Oreius. I'm honoured."
"As am I, Princess. You did a very brave thing getting away from Jadis." Oreius praised and Y/n gave a weak smile. Oreius turned towards the other creatures.
"We must all continue with our training. Long Live Aslan!" The whole crowd cheered. "Long Live Aslan!" They all repeated. Y/n looked around with a smile on her face. She looked into the crowd seeing various different creatures train in various different ways. She took a deep breath in.
Things were about to change.
