Chapter 90
22:36, 24 May 2014Lucy’s POV
I wake up in Conor’s room with his arm wrapped tightly around my waist. I smile at the realisation that everything’s fine now and back to normal. Although I still need to sort something out with Ben. We can’t just leave it like that now.
I hear noises coming from downstairs so I quickly peck Conor on the cheek and get out of bed without waking him. I make my way downstairs and see Jack and Anna fighting over the TV remote.
“Lucy, Good Luck Charlie or Friends?” Jack asks me.
“Good Luck Charlie, definitely” I frown and Anna cheers.
Once Conor and Eleanor were up, we went to my house and now we’re sat in the living room with the family discussing New Years plans. We all want to go out to the club tomorrow night because it’ll be amazing for New Years Eve/Day but then we have to go to Sweden the day after so we’re just trying to squeeze everything in really and sort this out with Dad and Matt. We’re telling them that there’s a party at Sam’s house instead of saying the club... He’s the first person we could think of.
“I don’t know. If you go out that night, you’ll be so tired the next morning” Dad sighs.
“What if we don’t stay out as late?” Eleanor suggests.
“And we could sleep on the plane if we’re that tired” I input.
“I’m not sure” he sighs again.
“Well I guess if you get all your packing done before you go out, then all you have to do is wake up and go to Sweden” Matt shrugs.
“What time will you be back from this party?” Dad asks.
“Half twelve” Eleanor shrugs and his mouth drops open.
“Dad, it’s a party, what do you expect? Besides, we need to stay for the fireworks at midnight” I smirk.
“True” he sighs. “Well I guess if you get all your packing done and you don’t come home too late, we can sort something out”
“Thank you!” I squeal, wrapping my arms around my Dad’s shoulders.

It’s now finally New Years Eve. I say this every year but I literally can’t believe how fast this year has gone and how much it’s changed. For starters, I’m now living in Brighton... I’ve got the most amazing boyfriend in the world, I’ve met so many amazing people and I’ve experienced all sorts of different things. I’m so glad I moved to be honest. I had loads of friends in Cheshire but my only true friend is Eleanor so I’m not too bothered that I moved because she’s always down here anyway. And we’re going on holiday with each other tomorrow!
I’ve been through so much since I moved here but all of it is worth it because I couldn’t be any happier right now. Moving here was the best decision my Dad could’ve made.
“Don’t you think this year’s gone quick?” I ask Eleanor while straightening my hair. I’ve just had a shower and blow dried my hair and now I’m sat in a towel in front of my mirror with Eleanor.
“Definitely. I still think it’s weird that you live here” she laughs and I do the same. “I wish I lived here” she sighs.
“You should!” I gasp.
“Yeah, that would work” she says sarcastically.
“No, when we leave school you should come to collage here”
“I thought you were coming to collage near Cheshire” she frowns again.
“I don’t know even know what I want to study there so I’m not sure” I laugh and she rolls her eyes.
“Next school holiday, you’re coming to mine” she smiles and I nod in agreement, watching her curl a piece of hair through the mirror. “Mind you, mine’s boring compared to yours. I’ll come here next holiday”
“Okay” I start laughing.
I decide to just leave my hair down and just backcomb it slightly to add volume. Whenever I style my hair when I go to this club, it always ends up a mess at the end of the night so I’m better off just straightening it and leaving it. I add a bit of hairspray to keep it voluminous all night.
I change into some back disco shorts and a high neck, black crop top. ((picture at the side))
“Eleanor, this...” I show her my outfit then hold up a wine colour dress with a short plunge at the front. “Or this”
“What you’re wearing now” she nods. “Lucy, you look well hot”
“Shut up” I laugh.
I start doing my make-up pretty heavily and give myself a smokey eye with a bit of gold shimmer on. I put my eyeliner on pretty heavily and decide to wear some false lashes to ‘add effect’. I think I look pretty good.
Eleanor gasps, “Can you do my eyes?”
I start laughing, “Yeah, come here”
She shuffles over to me and I start doing her eyes exactly to same as mine, when Conor and Jack walk in the room.
“Hey” I smile.
“Hey” they both say, sitting down on my bed and watching me intently.
“Done” I smile and she looks in the mirror.
“Thank you” she smiles widely. I stand up and walk over to my laptop to turn it off.
“Lucy, you’re not wearing that” Conor snaps.
I moan, “I thought you’d have something to say about it”
“You can almost see your ass!” he frowns.
“Yeah, but you can’t” I shrug, closing my laptop.
“You’re not wearing it” he shakes his head. I look at Jack and he’s just sat there smirking. I roll my eyes at him and turn my attention back to Conor.
“Well I like it” I turn away from him and pick out some heels from my wardrobe.
“For fuck sake” he mumbles.
“Conor, I don’t need your permission for what can and can’t wear. No one else is complaining” I snap and Eleanor slowly walks into the room.
“What’s going on?” she hesitantly asks.
“Tell Lucy she can’t go out like that” Conor tells her and she starts laughing.
“Leave her alone” she laughs and I turn to Conor and smirk. “I think you look nice” Eleanor smiles at me.
“Thank you, Eleanor”
“I do too” Jack adds.
“Aw, thanks Jack” I smile and look at Conor who’s just glaring at me. “Conor, it’s either this or this. Take your pick” I say, holding up the dress that shows my boobs off.
“Neither!” he shakes his head.
I moan, “Just fuck off”
I storm out of the room and run downstairs into the kitchen. One, I need a drink and two, he’s pissing me off. I’d understand if my bum was hanging out of my shorts or something but I look completely fine. I’ve dressed more revealing than this before and he hasn’t said anything about it.
“Lucy, what’s up?” Mum asks as I storm past her.
“Nothing” I snap, walking into the kitchen and slamming the door behind me. I make a glass of water and sit on the bar stool, drinking it while texting Leila on my phone. We’re meeting the rest of the group at the club so Ben may or may not be there... I don’t really want to know if he is or not.
Conor’s cuts have cleared up fast but they’re still slightly visible. God knows what Ben looks like. I kind of feel sorry for him though.
I hear Conor’s footsteps coming down the stairs so I listen in on his conversation he’s now having with my Mum.
“Hey, where’s Lucy?” he asks. Mum, please don’t tell him.
“Don’t bother her, Conor” she warns him.
“Where shouldn’t I bother her?” he asks, a smirk to his voice.
“In the kitchen” Mum laughs.
Thanks Mum...
“Okay!” he cheers and the kitchen door swings open. I frown at him and continue texting on my phone. “I’m sorry” he sighs.
“Why are you so against it?” I raise an eyebrow.
“Because other guys are gonna be looking at you and stuff tonight. I don’t want you getting hurt or anything” he says sympathetically, sitting next to me.
“Nothing’s going to happen, Conor” I laugh dryly.
“It might”
“Well if anything does, I give you permission to knock them out” I smirk and he starts smiling.
“What if Ben’s there though?” he frowns and I shrug.
“I don’t know”
“You’re not talking to him. Stay away from him, okay?” he warns me and I moan.
“Can I not just sort out what happened the other day? I just kicked him out and I need to see how he’s doing”
“No you don’t” he shakes his head.
“Yes I do. Conor, for all I know, he could be calling the police on you” I frown and he shrugs.
“Just stay away from him”
“Or what?”
“Or I’ll kill him” he smirks.
“And I’ll kill you” I smile and he bursts out laughing.
“No but I’m serious, stay away”
“What if we bump into each other?” I smirk.
“Lucy” he warns me.
“Okay, okay. But I’ll have to talk to him eventually and if I do it tonight, I won’t have to talk to him in the new year”
“Okay, fine. But you stay with him no longer than a minute and I’ll come over with you”
“Deal” I hold out my hand and he shakes it, raising his eyebrow slightly.
“You’re going to freeze in that tonight though” he shakes his head.
“I’ll live” I smirk. “Do I not look nice?”
“Fuck, yeah you do” he nods his head. “Really nice”
“Good” I giggle and he smirks. “Come on” I say, jumping out of my seat and going upstairs. I put a necklace on and squeeze into my glittery black heels.
“Do you need a lift to the party?” Lauren asks us.
“No, it’s only round the corner from Conor’s” Eleanor shrugs and we all nod in agreement.
“Why is it just Conor’s house?” Jack frowns.
“Conor and Jack’s house then” she rolls her eyes and I start laughing.
We walk to Conor’s because he forgot his money and when we get inside, his Mum invites us all in the kitchen for a drink.
“Leila said she’s on her way there now” I tell everyone, reading out the text. I start to reply but then my phone jams. “For gods sake” I moan, tapping my phone on the table impatiently.
“What?” Jack asks.
“My phone’s froze” I sigh.
“Pass it here” he holds out his hand and I hesitantly give it to him.
“It should unfreeze any sec-“
He stops midsentence by dropping my phone on the floor and it smashing into about 3 pieces.
“JACK, YOU ABSOLUTE-“
“What the fuck just happened?” Conor walks in the room and stops just before he steps on my phone. “Oh shit”
“It usually works with mine!” Jack panics.
“Let me guess, your phone froze so he smashed it on the floor?” Conor smirks and I nod.
“I’m literally going to kill you. My Dad will go mental. Jack, I hate you so so so much!” I scream. “WHO THE HELL DROPS THEIR PHONE ON THE FLOOR WHEN IT FREEZES!?”
“I said I’m sorry!” he pouts.
“That doesn’t fix my phone though does it!?” I shout. I look at Conor who’s crouched down on the floor with the three pieces in his hand.
“It’s fine, it’s not broken. The back’s just come off” Conor shrugs.
“Can you fix it?” I gasp.
He shrugs, “Yeah”
“Oh my god, thank you!” I squeal. He puts all the pieces of my phone on the table and starts to insert everything back into the back of my phone where they belong. I’ve never seen this stuff in my phone in my life. He places the back of my phone back on and screws the tiny screws back in. “Is it done?”
“Yeah, turn it on and see if all your music and pictures are there and stuff” he says. I turn my phone on and wait impatiently for it to turn on.
“Glad it didn’t happen to my phone” Eleanor mumbles, breaking the silence.
“Now is not the right time” I glare at her and she just smirks. I look up at Angela and she just bursts out laughing. “This isn’t funny” I moan.
My phone finally turns back on, only for me to find that there are no pictures on it.
“You’ve deleted all my pictures!” I grind my teeth together. “Jack! Everything from London and stuff is on there!” I nearly cry.
“It’s fine, Lucy. I can get them back” Conor smiles. I let out a sigh of relief and follow him upstairs along with everyone else. We all watch as he plugs my phone into his computer and clicks on a load of stuff. I’m panicking like crazy right now.
“I’ll never forgive you if this doesn’t work” I glare at Jack and he just smirks.
“It says it’s going to take about three hours so unless you want to stay here and wait for it, we need to go” Conor tells me, standing up from his computer.
“They’ll definitely come back though right?”
“Yeah. It was just a problem with your memory card. It must’ve got scratched or something” he shrugs and I smile.
“But what about pictures for tonight?” I gasp.
“You can take all your selfies on my phone” he rolls his eyes and I start smiling again.
“See, this is why Conor’s my boyfriend and not you” I pull a face at Jack.
“I don’t want to be your boyfriend” Jack cringes and I just smile in amusement. Never ever let Jack touch your phone.
“Well this is getting sufficiently awkward so can we go now?” Eleanor asks hesitantly and Angela starts laughing.
“Do you want a lift?” she asks us.
“Yes please” Conor smiles. I guess she knows where we’re going then.
When we get to the club, I see Leila and practically the whole group stood outside waiting for us.
“Finally!” Leila cheers as we walk out of the car. “I was texting you, how come you didn’t reply?”
“Jack smashed my phone so I had to leave it at Conor’s” I roll my eyes and she starts laughing.
“Never give your phone to Jack, Lucy” she laughs. “Look at you!”
“No, look at you!” I smile, admiring her outfit.
“I wish I was someone else so I could look at both of us” she smirks and I burst out laughing.
“Lucy!” Mike cheers, practically running over to me and picking me up.
“Oh my god! Hi Mike” I laugh.
“It’s been forever” he sighs, putting me down.
“I know, right?” I laugh. I see Ben talking to Leila in the corner of my eye and I look over at Conor to see him glaring at me. I shake my head at him, mentally telling him not to cause a scene, and he just turns away.
I get round to everyone and say hi to them all and we eventually decide to actually go inside the club.
