Chapter 41

22:06, 27 April 2014

"Landaaaan" Conor shouts, signalling we've arrived.

Mum parks her car in a car park just outside the city centre so we won't be stuck in traffic. I brought along all my money I've been saving up since my birthday in August (about £300) and Jack told me that he went home and got him and his brother some money while Conor and I were having our little 'make out' session.

We walked in a group down the busy streets of London and by busy, I mean jam packed. You had to squeeze and push yourself through these crowds on the pavement! I love this city though. It's so unique and have all the best shops. I even like the taxis and busses that pass us, and of course, all the best famous people live here. Although you don't exactly bump into them on the street I'm afraid.

Conor and I walk together in front of my best friend and my Mum and immediately direct ourselves to Oxford Street. We decide to spend the day shopping and at night, we'll go on the London Eye and visit Big Ben and stuff. I love my Mum for this.

"Conor, I think you should get this" I joke, holding a multicoloured snapback.

"I hope you're joking" he cringes and I just laugh. "I'm thinking about this one though" he puts on a maroon snapback.

I nod, "Looks good. I think I suit it better though". I take it off his head and start posing with it in the mirror.

"You're so embarrassing" he laughs, shaking his head. He takes it off my head and we walk around the huge shop we're in to find Jack.

"Oh fuck this. JACK WHERE ARE YOU?" I shout at the top of my lungs and Conor bursts out laughing.

"Big mouth" he rolls his eyes and we see Jack running over to us.

"Hey, it worked though"

"What happened?" Jack panics.

"Just wondering where you are" Conor replies. We pay for everything we've got and start looking round practically every store in London.

We've been walking round London for at least 7 hours now and we're all holding so many bags, me more than anyone. We've probably been in every store in the city. I've had such a good day.

So far, I've bought some jeans, sweaters, and many more winter clothes. I bought some summer shorts that were reduced in price because you know, no one wears shorts in this weather. I got some really cute socks, gloves, hats and scarves that I probably won't wear but they we're too adorable to leave in the shop. I even got some jewellery... I never wear jewellery.

There was a sale in one of the shops so I went all out in there. I got so much stuff. Me and Jack even bought matching onesies. We offered Conor to get a matching one too but he thought it was a ridiculous idea. He's probably right, Jack and I will never wear these...

So right now, we're walking back to the parking lot to put all our bags in the boot of the car, and to get a bit more money for anything else we want.

"Lucy?" Jack smiles.

"What?"

"Smells" he bursts out laughing and I just look at him, smirking.

"You're so immature" I laugh and hit his arm. Once Conor and my Mum have put their things in the car, we walk back out of the parking lot and go back into the city centre.

"Oh my god, Mum we have to go in here" I point to the huge Starbucks we're walking past.

She rolls her eyes, "Go on then, but we're not staying inside"

I squeal and walk inside, thinking about what to buy. I decide to go for my usual choice and get a large hot chocolate, although I should really try the Halloween themed drinks seeing as they only come round once a year. Oh well, I'll steal some of Conor's.

"Large hot chocolate please" I smile at the person at the till.

"Whipped cream?"

"Um, yes please" I nod. She smiles and writes down my order before I pay her and wait in queue with Conor and Jack.

"Why do you always do that?" Conor smirks.

"Do what?"

"You put on an innocent voice when you're talking to people serving you. You've been doing it all day" he says, taking his drink that's just been made.

"It's called 'being polite'" I roll my eyes at him.

"You would be being polite if you just spoke normally though" he laughs.

"I agree with you, Conor" Jack smirks.

"Can you stop bullying me? I'm only trying to be nice!"

"Bullying you!?" Jack laughs.

"Shut up" I pout and walk over to my Mum waiting outside the shop.

"Have you noticed it Marie? Whenever she's buying something, she'll speak in a shy voice" Jack laughs and my Mum starts laughing.

"Every time!" she laughs again.

"Seriously guys, can we go now?" I try to act strict but end up smirking.

"We're only messing with you Luce" Conor nudges me as we finally start walking to the London Eye. He hasn't called me that name in a while and it's giving me butterflies, just like it always did. I must've reacted to that name in some way because he's started smirking at me now. "Luce" he repeats himself. "Luuuce" he smirks and I slap his arm.

"Shush"

"You like it when I call you that"

He's now got a massive grin plastered on his face. I cover my face with my hands and moan to hide the serious blushing I can feel burning my cheeks.

"Luce"

"Conor, shut up" I moan and he starts laughing.

We eventually get in view of the London Eye and it looks so beautiful. It's all lit up because its night and it literally just looks like how it does in the pictures. I think I'm dreaming.

I stand in the queue waiting to get our place in one of the capsules.

"What's up with you?" Conor asks.

"I'm really excited" I smile.

"I can tell" he laughs and I just nudge him and start rubbing my hands together to create... warmth? I wish I didn't finish my hot chocolate so quick. Thankfully, Conor wraps his arms around my shoulder and I put mine around his waist while resting my head on his chest. We stay there for a few minutes until the queue starts to move and everyone starts piling into different capsules.

I guess it's busier during the day because there's not really a lot of people here now, meaning we get to go in our own capsule. It cost enough...

When we get in, we start moving really slowly while more people get into the capsules below us. I can't hide my huge grin plastered on my face. I absolutely love this place and seeing the view from here is literally perfect.

As we get further to the top of the Eye, I see more of the city and how beautiful it looks lit up. I can't even describe how good this feels. I haven't spoke to anyone since we've got in this capsule, I've just been admiring the view and blocking out any form of sound while Conor, Jack and my Mum are lost in their own conversation.

"You look like you're having the time of your life" I catch Conor saying while he's walking over to me. I quickly glance over him and see him smirking. He's been doing that a lot today. I just nod and look back out at the view. "Lucy, you're creeping me out, take your eyes away from that god damn window"

"Oh sorry" I shake my head and look at him. He starts looking out at the view in front of us and genuinely looks really happy. Why isn't he always like this? "I don't want to argue with you anymore" I sigh. I don't know why I'm telling him this.

"What?" he looks so confused. I know he heard me so I stay silent. "Luc,y I'm trying really hard. Think about how far we've come since when I first met you and we got a detention. We argued every single fucking day of the week but look at us now" he laughs. "Look at me" he pushes my chin up so I'm looking at his glowing eyes "I don't want to argue just as much as you don't so all we can do is try right?" I nod. "I love you Luce"

"I love you too" I hug him and stay in his arms for ages. I release from his arms and put my hand on his cheek, pulling him down slightly to kiss me. A few seconds later, I hear gagging noises from next to us.

"Fuck me, do you two ever stop?" Jack sighs. I smile into the kiss and I feel Conor do the same.

"Oh my god" my Mum gasps.

"You know what? I'm used to it now, Marie. The amount of time's I've walked in on them two-"

"Stop!" she gasps and Jack bursts out laughing.

Conor and I eventually pull away from the kiss and start hugging again until I see a flash. I turn around and see Jack with my Mum's giant camera, taking a picture of us.

"Fuck off" I moan making Conor laugh. I walk over to him and grab the camera. "Let's take pictures!" I gasp.

-

Conor and I start looking through the pictures we've taken throughout the night on the camera, while walking back to the car. It's about 9pm and we decided to call it a night before we die of hypothermia.

When we get in the car, we all instantly put our hands around the little heaters.

The car journey's just as funny as on the way here except you can tell we're all worn out now. We've laughed at everything we've done through the day and have reminded each other different parts of the day. Thanks again Mother for bringing us here, you absolute legend. I must've thanked her at least 10 times already, without exaggerating.

I eventually get too tired to move and rest my head on the window before falling asleep.

-

"Luce, wake up" I hear his voice.

"Mhmm"

He laughs, "Come on Luce". I slowly open my eyes and get my vision back. "We're home, baby"

I just smile at him. Mum and Jack aren't in the car, just me and Conor.

"Where is everyone?"

"They're inside. They've just unpacked the car" he explains and I nod. "Are we getting out of this car or what?"

"Oh yeah" I jog my memory and open the car door before walking inside.

"It's alive then" Jack mumbles.

"I heard that" I slap his arm.

"You were supposed to, dickhead" he rolls his eyes, a habit he's most likely picked up from me.

"Shut up" I tell him and turn to Conor. "Can you and Jack stay tonight?" I ask him quietly so only he can hear.

"Yeah sure" he nods.

We stay downstairs for a bit and go through all of our new purchases. I say 'we', I only mean me and Mum. The boys are too wrapped up in a computer game they're playing that Jack bought in London.

"And thanks again for taking us Mum, I had an amazing time" I smile.

"Lucy, stop thanking me" she laughs.

"Sorry, I just had a really really really good time"

"Aw same hunny" she smiles and packs everything back in her bags. We both beg the boys to let us on the computer so we can connect all the pictures from the camera up to it, and after about 10 minutes of begging, they finally let us.

Mum doesn't stop making a comment about each picture. Mainly just 'aw' and 'oo' but they're really irritating.

"I'm so tired, I'm going to bed" I yawn.

"Yeah same" Conor fake yawns, just so he can come up with me.

"Who says you're staying?" Mum asks and Conor just rolls his eyes before following me. "He's so rude" I hear my Mum say to Jack. I know she's only joking, her and Conor are always like this with each other.

I change into my pyjamas, brush my teeth, take off my make-up and get into bed with Conor after he called Anna.

"I've just realised I've spent all my money" I tell Conor.

"How much?"

"Three hundred"

"Jesus Christ. Three hundred on clothes!?" he gasps and I nod. "Your own fault"

"Oh shut up. At least I don't spend like forty pounds on a shitty computer game"

"I'll have you know that it's probably one of the best selling computer games actually. Worth every penny"

"Whatever. Let me sleep, I'm knackered" I kiss him lips and turn around so I'm not facing him. "Love you"

"Love you too" he says and I instantly fall to sleep with his arm wrapped securely around me.
