27: Broken Friendship

ANNA POVI received a text from Jamie.

From: Jamie ^-^Hey! So I told Jimin that I'm going to the mall with you, but I'm actually going to go get him an anniversary gift. Can you cover for me if he asks?

From: me To: Jamie ^-^Sure! Good luck shopping!

After sending the message, I stayed in class for about ten minutes to finish an assignment. After I was done, I walked out of school and towards the café. There, I saw Bangtan exiting and coming my way. I greeted them and they greeted me back.

"Hey! Aren't you supposed to go to the mall with Jamie? She already left." Jimin said.

"Oh yeah, we decided to just meet there  because I had to finish an assignment before I left. I'm just... Picking up some drinks for us while I'm on my way!" I said.

"Oh... Well you better get going then!" He said. I nodded and we waved good bye. Whew. After getting my drink, I decided to go to the mall. Maybe I can help Jamie pick out a gift for Jimin! I walked to the mall and passed by the ice cream shop. When I did... I saw something. I saw... Jhope and Jamie... Eating ice cream together. My heart sank. Anna, calm down, maybe they just met here coincidentally? They walked to a bench and started talking. After a while, I moved closer towards them and hid behind a plant. That way, I could hear what they are talking about without them seeing me...

"Jhope your a great guy! Your a great dancer and you have a positive personality. Anyone would be lucky to have you." I heard Jamie say.

"You really think so?" Jhope asked.

"I know so." Jamie said. What's going on?

"Hey Jamie? I have something to say... But promise me you won't freak out without letting me finish okay? I will explain everything." Jhope said. This made me nervous.

"Okay..." Jamie answered.

"I..." He started. He took a deep breath.

"I like you." He said. My heart immediately snapped in half as I heard the terrible words. J-Jhope likes Jamie... Tears formed in my eyes as I immediately ran away. As I did, my heart burned as I grew sudden anger towards the both of them. .JAMIE POV"I like you." He said. My eyes widened and my heart stopped beating. I gulped. Uh oh. I was going to say something, but he stopped me by putting up his hand. "I love your laugh and your smile. You reflect a hopeful personality, like mine, and I really do think that we would make a great couple. So... Will you accept my heart Anna?" He asked. I froze. Anna? He smiled and I let out a sigh of relief.

"YAH! You scared me to death! You couldn't have started by telling me that you like Anna?!" I yelled at him. He laughed.

"I told you not to freak out! Sorry I wanted to see a real reaction to the words I have been putting together to say. What did you think? Do you think she would accept me?" He asked. I nodded.

"Sounds sincere and precise. I think she'll love it." I said and he sighed.

"I don't know... It's just... After seeing Jimin and Taehyung ask their crushes out, I thought that it was time as their hyung to have courage for myself. I mean... I'm a big scaredy cat but... I have to overcome something right?" He asked.

"Right." I said. I'm so happy for them. I can't wait until Anna finds out!

"So can you help me ask Anna out?" Jhope asked. "In return for helping you with Jimin's gift?"

"Sure! What can I do for you?" I asked.

"Can you get her to come to the bakery across the street from the school tonight at 7? I have a cake and everything planned out." He said. I smiled. Awww...

"Of course." I answered. With that, we finished our ice creams and walked out. By this time, it was 5:30. "I'll text Anna. You go set up what ever you have to. Good luck!" I said.

"Thanks Jamie!" He answered before running off towards the school. I watched him go. This boy... Scaring me to death with a confession... Whew!

I took out my phone and texted Anna.

From: meTo: Anna :)

Hey! Can you meet me at the bakery across the street from the school at 7? I have something to tell you.

I sent it and a few seconds later, she replied.

From: Anna :)

Meet me now. I'm in front of your house. Hurry up.

I frowned. What's up with her? Is she mad at something? Out of curiosity, I started running towards my house. As I neared, I saw her standing impatiently. Once I got to her, I was out of breath.

"H-Hey! What's up!" I said. She glared at me. Then... She slapped me. My face jerked to the right as my eyes widened. I turned to her. "What the heck! What's wrong with you!" I yelled. She had tears in her eyes.

"How could you! I trusted you! I told you I like Jhope and what do you do? You go to the mall with him and make him fall in love with you! I heard him! He likes you! How could you do this to me!" She shouted. I looked at her confused. She was there? But it wasn't real!

"Jhope went with me to help me pick a gift for Jimin. That's all. I didn't deceive you or anything. What you saw was not what it was and what you heard was not what it was. I'm guessing you didn't stay for the whole conversation because if you did..." I stopped. I shouldn't ruin Jhope's plan with my explanation. I took a deep breath. "If you did stay, you would know that this is a big misunderstanding." I said. She scoffed.

"Oh yeah? Then make me understand. Enlighten me with your explanation." She said.

"I can't right now." I responded.

"Your a slut! Was having one boyfriend not enough for you?! Did you have to go after the boy I like just so you can feel satisfied?! I get it! You're pretty! You're good at dancing, but guess what?! You're a slut and you're conceited and that's all!" She screamed. Her words pierced me... One of my closest friends... Hates me. I took a deep breath as tears lined my eyes.

"Fine. Call me names... You want an explanation? Go to the bakery across the street from school at 7. Everything will be explained. Just remember... I now know all of your feelings towards me... Enough to know that you are not a real friend. I understood your anger from what you heard, but your words will not be forgotten." I said but Anna shook her head.

"I'm not going anywhere. I'm not doing anything. Not for you." She said. Then, she walked off and left me dumbfounded. I took out my phone and texted Jhope.

From: meTo: Hobie Oppa

Anna... Was at the mall when you "asked me out." Now she thinks you like me and refuses to go to the bakery. She's really mad at me right now... I'm sorry...

I sent it and walked into my house. I trudged upstairs and collapsed on my bed, setting the box of shoes on the floor besides me. My phone vibrated.

From: Hobie Oppa

What?! She heard?! Oh no... I'm so sorry Jamie. I didn't mean for this to happen! What do we do?

I texted back:

Let's try to talk to her tomorrow.

With that, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. Well this day turned from good to bad real fast. I drifted off to sleep.
