17: Working On Project (Day 2)

JAMIE POV"Wake up Jamie!!!" Jimin yelled through the window. I rubbed my eyes as I sat up slowly.

"Good morning." I mumbled.

"Morning! Go eat!" He said. I nodded with my eyes half closed and I dragged my feet out of bed. After I got ready, I went downstairs, ate cereal and toast, and went out to see Jimin waiting.

"Well you look awake now." He said and I smiled and nodded. Then, we turned to walk to school. As we walked, we passed by a store playing loud music. As I looked, I didn't see where I was going so I tripped. I braced myself for the fall, but I was relieved when a pair of strong arms caught me. My heart was beating rapidly and so was Jimin's. I turned to face him and my eyes widened when his face was only two inches away from mine. My face started to heat up as I regained my balance and got on my feet.

"Th-Thanks." I said. He rubbed his neck.

"Yeah no problem..." He said. The moment was filled with an awkward aura. I tried to think of something to make the situation less intense, but Jimin beat me to it as he laughed. "You just can't help but to fall for me huh?" He said. I laughed sarcastically. Then, we continued to talk and laugh as we walked to school. When we got there, I went to my seat.

"You look red. What happened?" Anna asked. I felt my face. Am I red?

"N-Nothing happened. It's just really hot outside." I said.

"Mhm." Anna and Rachel said in sync. I rolled my eyes at them. Then, the bell rang.

"Alright class! Get with your partners and keep working on your projects! I will be over at my desk if you have any questions!" The teacher announced. With that, I got up and Jimin and I sat in a desk in the back of the room. As we worked, Chelsea and her crew were staring at me.

"Just ignore her. The more attention you give her, the more she will act out." Jimin said. I nodded and turned to him.

"We are halfway done with our essay so we just have to finish it tonight. We have the notes so it should be easy. Tomorrow we can work on the visual aid and we'll be done." I said and he nodded. With that, we were done with our preparation so we sat around for the rest of the period while Rachel and Anna gave me suspicious looks, Jungkook and Taehyung gave me and Jimin smirks, and Chelsea and her crew gave me glares. .The school day went by really quickly. Even sixth period, where we learned the rest of the choreography. As Jimin and I walked home, I turned to him.

"The new choreography is amazing." I said. He smiled.

"Yeah our coach came up with it. I just helped to change a few things. I believe that we can win with it." He said and I nodded. "I have to come up with a choreography for my duet dance though for championships. The coach is making the dances for the other two couples, but he said that I should make mine." He said. I nodded. "Do you want to help me?" He asked. My eyes widened.

"Me?!" I asked. He nodded. "Are you crazy? For championships? There is no way I can help you with that." I said and he chuckled.

"I think you can. I can see a really awesome choreography out of your knowledge of dance." He said and I shook my head. "Come on... Please? You will probably end up being my partner for the dance anyway." He said.

"I don't know..." I said.

"Pleeaase." He begged. I sighed.

"Fine... But don't blame me if the dance doesn't come out good." I said and he smiled.

"It will." He said. By this time, we got to the house and he led me in his home. Then, he made snacks and we talked while eating. After a good hour, we grabbed our backpacks and went up to his room. There, we finished our other homework, then started on writing the essay again. .JIMIN POVAs we worked on the essay, I looked up from my notes to see Jamie typing. She's so beautiful... And she seems so focused on the work. I-I think my feelings for her are getting stronger. I looked back down on my notebook and started writing again. However, my eyes wouldn't let me focus. They kept wandering back to Jamie.

"Jimin?" She asked.

"Huh?" I asked, putting down my pen and notebook.

"Are you okay? You seem distracted." She said and I nodded.

"No yeah I'm fine. 100% focused." I said and she smiled.

"Okay then." She said before going back to her work. I felt relief. Park Jimin focus..JAMIE POV I realized that Jimin kept looking up at me. Why? He's making me feel weird. It's like... He makes my heart beat faster.

"Hey Jimin, I have a question." I said. He looked up at me.

"Why were you so nice to me when we first met? You didn't even know me... You didn't know if I was a crazy girl or not... But you and Bangtan were still nice to me." I said.

"When I walked into the practice room to see you dancing with your eyes closed, I knew that you danced for passion. You weren't there for Bangtan or anyone else but yourself. It's really hard to get into our dance team, but you managed to in one try. That told me that you weren't fake... So I guess it was a natural instinct." He said. My heart melted.

"Oh..." I said.

"I have a question for you." He said. I looked at him.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"What do you think of Bangtan?" He asked. I smiled. Easy.

"You guys are awesome. I love being your guys's friend. You guys are so sweet and funny, you guys have a natural ability to get affection. That explains why so many girls obsess and love you guys." I said.

"It's a blessing and a curse." He said. "A curse because we meet girls like that... And a blessing because we meet girls like you." He said. Awww. I blushed.

"Thanks." I said. With that, we kept writing our essay until it got dark. But this time, we finished writing, editing, and re-reading our essay. Once we read it for the last time, we closed the laptop with satisfied looks.

"Good progress today Jimin." I said.

"You too Jamie." He said. I got up and stretched. I then looked at the clock to see that it was 8:00.

"I should get going now." I said and he nodded. We both got up and walked downstairs. Then, we walked out of the house and he walked me to the front of my house again. I knocked on the door and Elizabeth opened it.

"Oh Jamie! You're home! Dinner's ready!" She said. Then, when she saw Jimin, her eyes widened.

"Oh! Hello young man!" She said and Jimin bowed.

"Anneyonghaseyo, Park Jimin imnida." He said.

"He's our neighbor. We are working on a project together." I said and she nodded. Then, I turned to Jimin. "This is Elizabeth, my nanny." I said and he bowed to her again.

"Would you like to come join us for dinner?" Elizabeth asked him. My eyes widened. ELIZABETH!!! I gave her a stern look and she gave me a soft one.

"Oh no, it's fine. I don't mean to be a bother." He said but Elizabeth shook her hands.

"No no! Your not a bother at all! Come on in!" She said. Jimin bowed and hesitantly walked in.

"Elizabeth!" I whispered.

"Don't worry, your father won't be home until late at night." She assured. I let out a sigh of relief as we walked to the dining room. There, Jimin sat across from me and Elizabeth served us and sat down next to me.

"Wow this looks amazing. Thank you." He said while looking down at the food.

"Aww you're so sweet. Go ahead and eat!" She said and we started to eat. "So Jimin? How do you know Jamie?" Elizabeth asked.

"Oh, we have a couple of classes together." He said.

"And dance." I added and he nodded.

"Oh you like dance too?" Elizabeth asked him.

"He's the captain." I answered.

"Oh, wow Jamie used to be the captain of her old dance team." She said.

"So I've heard." Jimin said while smiling at me. After that, it got silent again.

"So Jimin, tell me about your family. What do your parents do?" Elizabeth asked.

"My mother is a writer and my father is a doctor overseas. I don't see him too often." He said. Lucky... I have to see my so-called father every day.

"Oh, you must miss him." Elizabeth said.

"Well, he and I don't exactly have the best relationship." He added and I nodded my head. Relatable. "How about you Jamie? What are your parents like?" He asked me. I looked up from my meal as I faced him.

"O-Oh..." I started, but I was having trouble with finding the right words.

"Jamie's mother passed away when she was little... And her father is a company owner. His company recently got relocated to Korea, which is why we moved here." Elizabeth answered for me. I looked back down to my plate. You forgot to add that he is an abusive, careless, selfish jerk.

"I see..." Jimin said. Oh no, he doesn't pity me does he. "Well, Jamie is a strong girl. I never knew she had such a hard past. You're really strong Jamie." He said to me and I smiled. Thanks... That actually made me feel better.

"You're such a sweetheart." Elizabeth complimented and he thanked her.

"Elizabeth took care of me ever since my mother died. She looked after me and always fed me." I said. Jimin turned to Elizabeth.

"Ma'am if you don't mind... May I ask you a favor?" Jimin asked. I raised my eyebrow.

"Oh of course! And please... Call me Elizabeth." She said. These two are getting really comfortable with each other. While I'm here third wheeling... What is this.

"Can you please make sure Jamie eats a good and sturdy breakfast? I wake her up extra early so that she can eat, but that can only take her so far." He said and Elizabeth laughed.

"Finally someone who can help me out. Of course Jimin. It actually seems like you're doing me a favor." She said. I smiled at them. The rest of the meal was filled with more questions and more answers. I swear, Elizabeth is like interrogating him. After we finished eating, we walked Jimin over to the door and showed him out.

"Well, that was an amazing meal. Thank you Elizabeth." Jimin smiled.

"No problem Jimin, anytime." She said.

"Thank you. Good night Jamie." He said while turning to me.

"Goodnight Jimin." I said back. With that, he turned around and walked away, and I closed the door. Once I did, Elizabeth smiled at me.

"I like him very much. He is such a sweet gentleman!" She said. I laughed.

"I could tell that you like him. You were interrogating him through the whole meal." I said.

"I just wanted to make sure that you fell for a nice guy." She said and my eyes widened.

"W-What?" I asked.

"Oh please, I could see it from the way you look at him. You like him. The good news is, he looks at you with the same look." She said. I scoffed.

"What are you talking about. We do not like each other like that." I said and she shook her head.

"Mhm. Goodnight Jamie." She said as she walked away, leaving me dumbfounded.
