10: Feeling Flustered

JAMIE POVI woke up feeling excited. Why? I rubbed my eyes and I looked outside my window. When I did, I was surprised to see Jimin's curtains open and he was looking back at me. He smiled and I smiled back. With that, I walked out of the room to go to the bathroom. After I was done getting ready, I went downstairs and looked at the clock. 7:12 am. Three more minutes. I saw my father eating breakfast as I reached for, as usual, an apple. Then, I said goodbye to my father and went outside. There, I saw Jimin waiting for me. I smiled and walked up to him.

"Hey Jimin." I said.

"Hey Jamie!" He said. With that, we both turned and started walking towards the school. "Is that all you're going to eat for breakfast?" Jimin asked. I nodded as I took a bite out of the apple. "You should eat a bigger breakfast. It will give your body more energy to move." He said.

"I don't have time in the morning." I said. He shook his head in disapproval.

"Anyway, are you ready for the competition tomorrow? I saw you dancing yesterday and you were doing really well." He said.

"Thanks. I got the choreography down. I'm actually really excited for tomorrow." I said back. With that, we walked in silence and arrived at the school a few minutes later. Before we walked in, I stopped. Jimin noticed a few moments later and stopped as well, turning around with a curious face.

"Why are you stopping?" He asked.

"You should go in first. I'll go after a few moments. I don't think the girls at this school will appreciate me walking with you." I said.

"Jamie don't worry about it. They won't do anything." He said.

"I know but I don't want rumors to start. It will be a bother for you and Bangtan." I said. He sighed and walked to me.

"I'm not going in without you." He said.

"What? Why?" I asked.

"You're my friend now. If anyone has a problem with that, they'll have to deal with it." He said. I sighed, but in a way, what he said made me feel better. Maybe because he said that I was his friend. I nodded and we walked into the school together. The second we did, I immediately started to hear whispers. I ignored it and followed Jimin to the classroom. When we walked in, Anna and Rachel gave me surprised looks, Chelsea gave me a death glare, and Bangtan smiled.

"Thanks for walking with me Jimin. I'll see you later." I said. Then, I walked to my seat and he went to the back like usual. With that, the tension settled down and everyone started to talk again.

"Well it seems like you're having a good morning." Anna said and I smiled.

"How are you guys coming in together?" Rachel asked.

"We're neighbors so we just walked together." I said and their eyes widened.

"What?!" They asked and I nodded.

"Your his neighbor? No way." Rachel said.

"You're so lucky~" Anna said. Then, the bell rang and I took out my notebook. .JIMIN POVWe walked into the room and saw everyone looking at us.

"Thanks for walking with me Jimin. I'll see you later." Jamie said to me. Then, she walked to her friends and I walked to mine.

"Well that was a cute image." Taehyung teased.

"Hyung do you like Jamie?" Jungkook asked. I rolled my eyes at them.

"Calm down we just walked to school together. She's cool." I said. Just then, Jungkook's question repeated in my head. Hyung do you like Jamie? Do I? I like her presence. The bell rang and I looked over to where Jamie was sitting. She was taking out her notebook and getting ready for class. Suddenly, my heart started to feel warmer. What is this? The teacher walked in and I looked away from Jamie. When I did, I saw Chelsea glaring at her. Then, she turned to me and gave me a wink. Eww. I rolled my eyes and turned back to my desk. .The bell rang for fourth period and I walked to my history class. When I walked in, I saw Jamie. When we made eye contact, we smiled at each other and my heart warmed up. There it is again. I sat in the back of the room and put my head down. Park Jimin, what's wrong with you? I shook my head and started to think about the choreography for tomorrow's competition. Then, the image of Jamie dancing came to my head. The time we walked in on her dancing with her eyes closed. I could tell that she is an amazing dancer. She listens to the music. She falls into it's beat. Wait, I'm thinking of Jamie. Man, do I really like her? Well... She is beautiful... And a really great dancer... And really cool... And nice... And she has a nice body. Aish stop it Park Jimin. I spent the rest of the period with a flustered mind..I walked to the canteen for lunch and sat with Bangtan.

"Hey Jiminie how was your fourth period?" Jhope asked.

"Eh. Boring." I answered.

"Are you okay Jimin? You seem annoyed." Jin said. I sighed.

"I'm just confused." I said. He raised his eyebrow.

"About what?" He asked.

"Jamie." I said. All of them looked at me.

"What about her?" They asked.

"I keep thinking of her. And she makes my heart feel warm. Aish I don't know." I said. They smirked.

"Does Jiminie actually like a girl?!" Rap Monster teased. I rolled my eyes.

"No I don't. She's just a good friend." I said and they mocked me.

"Sure. Whatever." Taehyung said. I pushed him with an annoyed expression.

"Jimin?" Rap Monster said. I turned to him.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"You got no jams." He said. I grunted and turned away. .Bangtan and I were in the dance room first for sixth period. I found myself looking out of the door to see if Jamie was coming. As I looked, I was disappointed to see Chelsea and her group walking in instead. I gagged and she came to me.

"Hi Oppa!" She said while linking her arm with mine. I shook her arm off.

"Yeah hey Chelsea. Go get changed, we're going to start soon." I said. She smiled and left. She's so annoying. Then, I saw Jamie walking in and my annoyed feeling went away. Oh my gosh. Do I actually like her? No that's impossible.

"Hey Bangtan." She said and we said hi back. Then, she went to the locker room to change. I watched her walk away before turning back around. When I did, Bangtan smirked at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing." They all said. What's wrong with them. With that, everyone else walked in and we got started. .JAMIE POVI put extra energy into today's practice to prepare myself for tomorrow. I got everything down and I felt ready.

"Alright good job guys! Have a good rest tonight. Tomorrow is our competition and we leave at lunch time. Be ready and eat a good breakfast!" He said, turning to me for that last part. Then, everyone went to go change but I wanted to stay longer to practice.

"Jimin? Can I stay longer to practice?" I asked.

"Sure. Bangtan and I are staying longer anyway." He said and I smiled at him. Then, I followed him as we walked over to Bangtan.

"Staying again Jamie?" Jungkook asked and I nodded. Then, we all got up and started practicing. .After an hour of practice, I sat down to drink water. A few moments later, Taehyung joined me.

"Hey Jamie." He said.

"Hey Taehyung." I said.

"You know, you can call me TaeTae if you want." He said and I laughed.

"Hey TaeTae." I said and he smiled.

"You seem to be ready for tomorrow's competition." He said.

"I guess so..." I said and he nodded.

"Jamie can I ask you a question?" He suddenly asked.

"Sure." I said. He turned to me with a serious expression.

"What do you think of Jimin?" He asked, looking at Jimin. I followed his gaze and saw Jimin looking at us. A second later, he looked away.

"He's a good dancer and he's nice." I said. He raised his eyebrow.

"Is that all?" He asked.

"What else do you want me to say?" I asked and he shook his head.

"Nothing. Never mind." He answered. I gave him a curious look. What was that about.

"I mean... He's my friend now and so are the rest of you guys." I said and he nodded.

"Thanks." He said. Then, the rest of the boys joined us.

"That was a good practice. I'm so tired." Jungkook said.

"Yeah guys we should call it a day." Suga said and we all agreed. Then, I went to the locker room, changed, and went back out.

"Get a good rest Jamie. You'll need the energy for tomorrow." Rap Monster said and I nodded.

"You guys too." I answered. With that, we all said bye and left for home. Once again, I walked with Jimin. .JIMIN POV"So how was your day?" I asked Jamie as we walked.

"Good. How was yours?" She asked. It was weird. You were on my mind all day.

"Good." I answered back. "You ready for tomorrow?"

"Yeah. Any tips?" She asked.

"Just dance like you did while you were practicing today. You'll do great." I said and she nodded. Then, it was silent for a few moments.

"I don't understand why people think you guys are cold, distant people. You guys are so sweet and friendly." She said. I chuckled.

"We're only like this around you. Our image at school keeps all of the annoying girls away. If they think we are easy, they will never leave us alone." I said.

"But why does Chelsea always bother you?" She asked.

"I helped her to improve her dancing when she joined the team. Ever since then, she wouldn't leave me alone." I said.

"She's... determined." She said and I smiled at her.

"I believe the right word to use is thirsty." I said and she laughed. Then, we arrived at our houses. .JAMIE POV"Goodnight Jimin. Thanks for walking with me." I said.

"No problem. Since we literally live right next to each other." He said and I laughed. "Bye Jamie." He said. We separated and walked into our homes. Then, I showered and went downstairs for dinner. Although when I did, I saw my father. I gulped and slowly went to the table. Elizabeth served me my food as I sat down.

"Good evening father." I said.

"Why are you home late?" He asked.

"I was practicing for dance. I have a competition tomorrow." I said.

"You better not let it get in the way of your studies." He said and I nodded. With that, we ate in silence. When I was done, I got up and went to my room. Finally I can breathe. I walked into my room and did my homework. After about an hour, I finished and sat on my bed as I looked out of my open window. I looked up to the sky as I took a deep breath. Mom, another long day passed. I have a competition tomorrow. You'll watch me right? I smiled to myself.

"Getting some fresh air?" I heard someone say. Startled, I jumped and turned to see who it was. When I did, I saw Jimin with his window open as well, and he sat there smiling at me.

"Oh my gosh Jimin you scared me." I said and he chuckled.

"Sorry." He said. "What are you doing?"

"Just thinking about tomorrow." I said and he nodded.

"Don't worry. It's fun to compete. You'll like it." He said.

"I'm sure I will." I said.

"So... I'll see you outside at 7:15 tomorrow morning again?" He asked.

"Sure. As long as you don't mind the attention at school." I said. He shook his head.

"Nah I'm used to it. Remember? I'm a cold, distant, and popular Bangtan member." He said and I giggled.

"The school kingka." I added. I took a deep breath. "Well, we better get some rest. Goodnight Jimin." I said.

"Goodnight Jamie." He said. I waved and closed my window. Then, I laid down and closed my eyes, drifting off to sleep with the thought of the competition. Goodnight mom, I hope you watch over me tomorrow.
